This trip is part of our 47-week trip from Morocco to Egypt. The trip starts end October each year and finishes mid September the next year. So, once a year only. We still have available seats on our 2026 trip. You'd be welcome to join!

I'd like to know how to proceed about joining for just a leg of the trip, availability of dates south bound and north bound for 2025, 2026 and 2027. And visa procedures for a Spanish citizen (UE) and prices in €, if possible.

This trip is part of our big Trans Africa adventure which starts in Fes and finishes in Cairo. There are sections you may join for example; Accra to Cape Town, Cape Town to Nairobi, Nairobi to Addis Ababa etc. Can you explain a bit further about where you'd like to join us and where you would like to get off?

Is camping gear included or extra? If extra, do we bring it. Is there a fee?

Is there a single supplement or does the $11,489.03 cover everything for a single traveler?

Is this the age you have to be at the beginning of the trip or is it acceptable to start at 17 with parent permission. Otherwise are there any trips that are for 17-year-olds.

Our tours have an age of 18years of age, as long as you are 18 years of age by the time you travel, that is absolutely fine.

We recently completed the Fes to Cairo 47 week trip and overall we thoroughly enjoyed it, although this was little to do with Oasis and more about our expectations of overlanding. We have written to Oasis to give them some candid feedback and insight to how the trip was run. They replied and said they would give us a ‘ detailed response’, more than 3 weeks later, we are still waiting… This doesn’t surprise us as in our experience they prefer ambiguity over transparency.Show more

  So I checked the website for oasis over lander and I saw a 4000$+ fee to pay locally on top of the 13k. Is that correct? I would like to know what is the actual price, is it going to be 13k or 13+4?

  The trip payment is in two parts. The pre-paid payment of £9995 is paid to the office. Then, a local payment of US$4400 is paid on arrival in Fes, when you meet the crew. The local payment is part of your overall trip payment and is the most cost effective and practical way to get hard currency to Africa to pay for a variety of your day to day local costs (i.e. all meals prepared by the group - 3 per day whilst travelling and 2 whilst in towns, campsite fees, wood, gas, and certain activities listed in the brochure) which cannot be pre-paid from the UK.

  We don't supply camping gear other than the tents, which will be shared by 2 people of the same gender. You can bring along your own tent though. So, sleeping bags, sleeping mats etc will all be part of your personal supplies you will be taking with you.

  We don't offer single supplements on this trip, no. If you bring your own tent, you will be guaranteed your own space for the camping nights. Where possible, you may be able to upgrade to staying in a hotel/hostel for the night. This is something you would arrange independently and make payment directly to the hotel/hostel.

  Would you say $15,000 would be enough to budget for this trip including visas? Also, do I need to get more than one passport because the US state department said a lot of the countries need 2 blank passport pages upon entry?

- Unfortunately we cannot offer you a visa application service. Whether you need a visa or not depends on your nationality and where you wish to travel. Assuming your home country does not have a visa agreement with the country you're planning to visit, you will need to apply for a visa in advance of your scheduled departure.
- Here is an indication for which countries you might need a visa. Please contact the local embassy for help applying for visas to these places.
Payment information
- For any tour departing before July 3rd, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after July 3rd, 2026, a minimum payment of $450 is required to confirm your booking with Oasis Overland. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 75 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
