What people love about Ghana Tours
- Thrills in Ghana
I booked my trip to Ghana with Protour Africa because of the positive reviews I read. This gave me the confidence that I would enjoy the tour and be taken care of as a female solo traveller. I booked the Thrills in Ghana package as it was a good mix of city life, nature, history, relaxation and culture. I'm pleased to say that this tour far exceeded my expectations and this has been the best trip I've taken so far. First of all the communication from the minute I booked was efficient and Zainab was able to answer all of my questions (and I had loads). When I arrived in Ghana after 2 long flights she was there to pick me up and make sure I was settled at my hotel. The tour itself was insightful and gave me an authentic glimpse into different parts of Ghana and Ghanaian culture - my particular favourites were visiting Mr Cedi's Bead Factory and Kakum National Park. As well as accompanying me on all parts of the tour, Zainab even made time for me to add additional items to the itinerary. Zainab, I can't thank you enough for making my trip to Ghana amazing! It was an absolute pleasure meeting both you and Rashida. If you are visiting Ghana, make sure to book your trip with ProTour because you'll have an amazing and authentic experience.

My son and I spent a week in Ghana in February 23 and had a fabulous time with the ProTour team. They were all extremely professional and enthusiastic. We did several trips during our stay, all very well organised and an abundance of information. Their air conditioned cars were very comfortable and the driver and guide were always punctual when picking us up from the hotel. Communication was very easy and Rashida was always available throughout our stay.

"We had an excellent guide, David. We saw many animals including elephants and enjoyed a wide range of activities from a canoe ride and visit to the eco village to visiting the oldest Mosque in Ghana and a very modern art complex. Everything was well organised and both David and the safari guide, Abdul, were extremely knowledgeable and accommodating. The lodge is basic but comfortable with great views and food.

Independent travelers fit right in on our cultural immersion tours, where our guide Rashida helps everyone feel part of the group while maintaining their independence. You'll join workshops to learn traditional crafts, explore the busy Kejetia market in Kumasi and also walk through historic quarters with local experts. The four-day route covers major sites but leaves room to explore - you might join the group at key locations then wander Oxford Street or James Town at your own speed. It's ideal for solo guests since we handle all the complex logistics while keeping the experience personal.
Our week-long couples' tours blend quiet moments with shared discoveries. Early morning canoe rides at Mognori eco-village let you spot elephants and antelope together, followed by sunset views from Mole Motel. You'll stay at peaceful riverside resorts, learn traditional weaving or pottery as a pair in craft villages and also enjoy evening performances of music and dance. Couples often mention loving how the schedule balances active moments like crossing Kakum's canopy bridges with relaxed time at places like Aqua Safari Resort where they can simply be together.
Active young travelers join our adventure tours that really earn the name - you'll tackle the challenging 2-hour climb up Mount Afadja, Ghana's highest peak, rewarding you with incredible valley views. Days mix physical activities with culture; you might hike to Wli Waterfalls in the morning, then learn traditional soap making from local artisans by afternoon. The routes include contemporary art galleries in Accra, hands-on batik fabric workshops and also chances to learn authentic drumming patterns from master musicians.
Our heritage tours resonate with senior travelers, offering rich experiences at a comfortable pace. Knowledgeable guides share compelling stories at Cape Coast Castle and Elmina Castle, while easy walks through Aburi Botanical Gardens let you appreciate Ghana's natural beauty. You'll take peaceful boat rides on Lake Volta, watch master craftspeople at work in traditional villages and also participate in authentic ceremonies at local chiefs' palaces. We've designed these routes with well-timed rest breaks between activities, using quality accommodations throughout.
Our four-day heritage tours work brilliantly for families, mixing learning with pure fun. Kids love walking above the forest on Kakum's canopy walkways - they get excited spotting monkeys swinging through trees and pointing out tropical birds. At Tetteh Quarshie Farm, our guides show everyone how Ghana's chocolate starts its journey, keeping things interesting for young minds. The Cedi Bead Factory is usually a highlight; children spend time crafting their own beads from recycled glass while picking up traditional craft skills. Parents tell us they value the calm boat rides on Lake Volta and also the thoughtful way our guides explain Ghana's history at Cape Coast Castle in ways that connect with younger visitors.
