10 Days Wonders of TurkeyGreat way to tour without having to be with the same people each day. I love the concept of having accommodation and travel arranged, and being able to choose if you attend the daily tours. This is the second tour I have done with Tour Altinkum and they are always so helpful and responsive, ensuring they include everyone you are travelling with in the messages so everyone knows what to expect for the following days’ activities. Accommodation is generally very close to main hubs with restaurants and shopping close by. Arranged tours are not compulsory, but are led by local tour guides who are extremely knowledgeable. Daily pick up and drop off is from your accommodation. Entrance fees are not included in the cost of the tour (you are not obliged to do daily activity). Most lunches are good, although a couple on my recent tour were not so great. Some days there were only a handful of travellers on daily tour. I love Turkey and would use Tour Altinkum again.
10 Days - Best of Turkey Tour / by PlaneEverything was wonderful, the tour guides spoke good Spanish and they all knew all the relevant information about all the sites we visited. I am marking good because you have to add all the expenses related to the museums. Some of the days can include no activities at all if you decide to not pay for them. This is not really stated in the description but in the small letters at the end of the same description. Also, there are some stops you have to make that feel that you are falling into one of those tourist traps in which they will try to sell you leather clothing for an insane amount of money or ceramic handcrafts. Nothing is compulsory but the sellers can be quite intense. Also need to consider the tipping. Around 200-400 TRY every single time you get a service or go to a restaurant can end up being a lot of money. In general I recommend the tour.

If you're trying to decide between tour styles, I'd lean toward the smaller groups. Some of our customers who've done the larger bus tours with companies like Eskapas mentioned the quality can be hit or miss, and you might spend more time than you'd like on the bus between stops. The private and small group options tend to work better for most people - you get more attention from the guide and can move at a more natural pace. The way these companies adapted during Covid shows a lot about how they operate. Tour Altinkum was particularly good about working with travelers on rescheduling and refunds, which isn't something every company managed well during that time. Their local knowledge really came through when plans needed quick adjustments. Just keep in mind that while the bigger group tours are often cheaper, you're trading some of that personal touch and flexibility that makes the smaller tours special. It really comes down to what matters most for your trip.
