Reviews of Small Group tours to Turkey
- Absolutely Turkey (Small group tour)
Our guide Erdem and our driver were wonderful, very well organized and made our trip seamless. I would recommend this tour of Turkey to everyone! We felt immersed in the culture and history and with such a small group, it felt much more personal!
- Anatolian Civilizations (Small Group)
Overall the tour is Excellent. The Tour Guide Erdem is very well versed and have a depth of knowledge throughout the tour. He is also good at keeping our small group intact and ensure everyone is still within the group. His time keeping is also excellent and keep reminding us on the time for us to meet or regroup. Our driver is also great and helpful. Helping us with our luggage when we moving to our next destinations. His driving skills and experience is excellent. He drive at a slower pace when there’s a very strong wind along the highway. He’s not rushing to reach our destinations and ensure we have a pleasant ride throughout our journey. The hotels varies along the tour. It’s can be excellent to good to fair depending on the locations. Same with the buffet breakfast, most hotels serve almost the same food. Noting much to expect from the hotels as we just need a place to rest after long day and move on the next day. Overall I’m very satisfied with our small group of 5pax tour
- 13-day Best of Turkey (Small Group Tour)
I can't believe I never left a rating for this tour. It was amazing - from start to finish, this was a polished experience and years later, I still look back on it with exceptionally fond memories. Largely thanks to the warmth, knowledge, and hospitality of tour guide Mustafa and our driver Adil. The itinerary was curated, the hotels were amazing, and we were able to visit a vast number of historical sites without the tour feeling rushed.
What our customers ask about Turkey Small Group Tours
What is the typical group size for small group tours in Turkey?
Small group tours in Turkey typically host 12-14 travelers keeping the experience intimate. While some tours like the Turkey Explorer occasionally accommodate up to 19 people the smaller size allows for more personal attention. Boutique accommodations such as the Efe Boutique Hotel in Kusadasi and Melekler Evi Cave Hotel in Cappadocia are selected specifically for these smaller groups making the experience feel more like traveling with friends than a large tour group.
What types of accommodation can I expect on a small group tour in Turkey?
Small group tours focus on local authentic accommodations that showcase Turkish hospitality. Travelers stay in carefully selected properties like the Arte Cave Hotel in Cappadocia the Arden City Hotel in Istanbul's historic district and the Efe Boutique Hotel in Kusadasi. These properties offer a more personal connection to the destination compared to international chain hotels. As one TourRadar traveler mentioned: "The hotels were very comfortable and provided a perfect rest after long days of sightseeing. I particularly appreciated the intimate atmosphere of the boutique hotels."
How much free time is built into small group itineraries in Turkey?
The schedules blend guided activities with independent exploration. Travelers have free evenings in cities like Istanbul and Kusadasi plus flexible time in Cappadocia for optional activities. One TourRadar traveler noted: "Our guide gave us enough information about each day's itinerary and free time to explore on our own." The small group format allows for spontaneous stops at local markets viewpoints or other points of interest based on group preferences.
What is the average duration of small group tours in Turkey?
Most tours run between 7-11 days with 8-day itineraries like the Highlights of Turkey tour being the most common choice. This timeframe lets travelers explore major destinations including Istanbul Cappadocia Ephesus and Pamukkale while maintaining the benefits of traveling with a smaller group.
What's different about meal experiences on small group tours?
The smaller group size opens doors to authentic dining experiences at family-run establishments rather than tourist-oriented buffets. Groups can enjoy meals in traditional cave restaurants in Cappadocia or neighborhood eateries in Istanbul. One TourRadar traveler mentioned "We could eat at charming local places where our guide knew the owners instead of big tourist restaurants."
