Itinerary
- Day 1
Ephesus
Your day starts with a guided tour departing from either Kuşadası or Selçuk heading into ancient Ephesus. You'll walk through the archaeological site and see the Celsus Library first, one of the most recognizable structures from the Roman period. From there, check out Hadrian's Temple and make your way to the Grand Theatre, which still shows impressive architecture despite its age. The Temple of Artemis is on the itinerary too, and it's one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, though only fragments remain. Before lunch, you'll visit the House of Virgin Mary, a smaller but historically significant site. After grabbing traditional Turkish food, you'll head to the Ephesus Archaeological Museum to see artifacts excavated from the area. Later in the afternoon, local craftspeople demonstrate traditional Turkish handicrafts, giving you insight into methods that have been used for generations.
