Itinerary
- Day 1
Yosemite Valley
You'll meet your guide at Curry Village in Yosemite Valley at 6 PM for an orientation meeting. From there, head to the Backpackers Camp near Tenaya Creek to get settled in. Dinner happens either back at Curry Village or right in camp, so you can take it easy and get ready for the trail ahead.

- Day 2
Cathedral Lakes Trail to Alpine Summit Camp
Today you're hiking 8.8 miles on the John Muir Trail starting from the Cathedral Lakes trailhead in Tuolumne Meadows. The route climbs 2,100 feet through high country with views of alpine peaks all around you. After a trail lunch break partway through, you'll continue to camp on a mountain lake shore. That evening brings a gourmet dinner with sunset views over the water.

- Day 3
Clouds Rest Summit
An early start gets you going for an alpine day. You're climbing Clouds Rest with a steady 1,000-foot push over 2 miles to hit the 9,926-foot summit. From up there, you get 360-degree views of the Sierra Nevada with Quarter Domes, Mount Hoffmann, and Cathedral Range all visible. The descent is steep and rocky with great views of Half Dome and El Capitan framed by ancient junipers. You'll reach camp on Sunrise Creek by evening.

- Day 4
Half Dome Summit
You're keeping camp in place today for a lighter day climbing Half Dome. The path is steep and rocky leading to 8,839 feet, then you'll use cables for the final 400 feet up. The summit gives you panoramic views across Yosemite Valley and into the high country. Head back the same way you came, and by evening you'll gather around a campfire next to Sunrise Creek to talk through the day.

- Day 5
Mist Trail to Happy Isles
On your final day, you'll descend to Little Yosemite Valley and then traverse the Mist Trail. You'll pass Silver Apron, Emerald Pool, and Nevada Fall while the Merced River runs alongside you through a glacially carved canyon. The highlight is reaching Vernal Fall with its soaking mists and rainbows. After navigating rocky steps down to a bridge, you'll reach the trail's end at Happy Isles. Take time to soak your feet in the cool creek water and celebrate finishing the hike.
