What are normal tips?

For tips it's recommended USD10 Per person per day which is given at the end of safari. Though tips is not a must as it always depends on your generosity.

I would like to know the time of operation where you transport (pick up & drop off) travelers from/to the airport. What time does it start and end in a day?

We would like to confirm that this safari starts by offerring the first day pick-up from the airport from your flight whichever time of the day it is, and begin safari the next day. As for drop-off the estimated time of arrival back to Nairobi would be 4pm local time.

I'm looking at 2 Kenya+Tanzania tours - both 14 days. Both seem very similar but there's big difference in price. For 1 adult solo traveler, for Aug'25 trip, one would cost approx $15000 but the other will cost only approx $8000. Why?

The difference between the 2 safaris is the route used. One route has an option of joining group as solo traveler and the other will be a private safari as solo traveler.

What's the size of the group?

The maximum group size of this adventure is only 8.

Will we always have access to a window seat on the game drives? I wondered about having a group maxed at 8. I don't think we naturally would have chosen to include lake Victoria, rather extra time at Lake Nakuru or lake Navasha. This is significantly cheaper than similar tours from another agency. Is it possibly due to the accommodations not being of highest luxury? Although, I looked up websites for the camps and they sound comfortable and appealing.

Our experience was great. We went to 8 parks over the 12 days. We saw hundreds of elephants, zebras, buffalo, and wildebeests. Lots of times from 10 feet away in our pop-up Land Cruiser. We saw 2 Rhinos from distances of 400 feet, the Rhino is a rare creature. We saw 5 leopards and watched one hunt. Watch another with his dinner in a tree. We saw 3 cheetahs. We saw lots of giraffes. We saw 20 lions, lionesses or cubs. We saw 1 lioness complete a hunt. We had 3 guides as we traveled from Kenya to Tanzania and back to Kenya. The guides can only work in one country. We made a huge circle from park to park, starting and ending in Nairobi. Our first guide was Daniel, extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Had an eagle eye for spotting animals. Our second guide was Harun, he was even more knowledgeable not only about the animals, but culture, the county, and history. We were extremely impressed by Harun. Because we went to so many places, we stayed in a lot of lodges and tented camps. We booked last minute which made it a little challenging for the operator to get the best locations as they fill up quickly. My family loved the tented camps in the park, they were definitely "glamping"....Sound of Nature camp was our #1 stop with 24x7 solar power and hot water. Most lodges ran on diesel generators, so power was limited to 2 hours in the morning and 3 hours at night. You spend most of your time on game drives...so limited power isn't an issue. The food at the last place was amazing, homemade pizza and Naan bread. They even celebrated our wedding anniversary with us. The one negative is the roads. Most of the roads we traveled on were gravel, with a heavy rainy season, there are HUGE holes, be prepared to jostle a lot. Make sure to bring your yellow fever card, there seems to be a scam at the border crossing that is $50/pp for them to give you a card. When you cross the immigration officials said the card isn't needed. .Show more

After doing a group tour in southern Africa the previous year we realised that this time we wanted to maximise the time spent in the national parks with the animals so Kenya was perfect. I was looking for a longer trip, around 3 weeks, that was packed with safari days. There were only a few companies I could find doing longer trips that included Tsavo N.P. We wanted to go to Tanzania as part of the trip, specifically the Serengeti and Ngorongoro. I found Gracepatt on Tourradar as they had a perfect trip listed. We had amazing communication and flexibility when booking, allowing me to get my dream trip to everywhere I wanted to go for a suitable budget and timeframe. Sam at Gracepatt will make sure your trip is exactly what you want, you won’t just be another booking as you will be with some other companies. We also contacted a larger company who were too pushy to get the sale, only focusing on telling us how many reviews they had. We had separate guides and vehicles in Kenya and Tanzania but we had a great time in both. Our guides were both very experienced, friendly and professional (and we had a really great time with them).   When it comes to the Great Migration, no, seeing the Great Migration is never 100% certain as it's a wild, natural phenomenon driven by unpredictable rainfall. During May - June the wildebeest start getting ready for their 800 kilometer long trek towards Grumeti River. The actual starting date may be anytime between late April and early June. However, the migration is tracked for the drivers know where the herd is.

The difference between the two safaris is that the 14 day safari offers more time on each destination with both giving maximum time for the wildebeest migration both in Kenya and Tanzania.
