Lovely Experience! I loved this style of travel! Bucket list moments every day! You are actively engaged in cooking and working together as a team with your fellow travelers. This trip brought our group so close together, a couple even got engaged during their time with Absolute Africa! We had a issues with two fellow passengers disrespecting both the tour guides and our fellow travelers. They have previously left bad reviews for this company, and their statements are riddled with lies and over-exaggerations. Absolute Africa listened to us, provided them with a warning, and when the warning was not listened to, they were removed from the tour. As they left the bus, they childishly poured garlic and grape juice on the seats, cut electrical wires, and attempted to smash a window. These people were unsafe, not the tour. Please do not take their reviews of this company seriously. Absolute Africa and their guides have shown they listen to their clientele and take their safety well into accord. Happy Travels!

What our customers ask about Safari Tours & Trips in Kenya and Tanzania
What are the best times of year to visit Kenya and Tanzania for wildlife viewing?
The prime seasons for wildlife viewing fall between July and October when the Great Migration brings millions of wildebeest moving between Serengeti and Masai Mara. Clear viewing conditions exist during the dry seasons (June-October and January-February) as animals congregate near water sources. Many travelers have found success during these periods. A TourRadar traveler notes "During July/August the annual Migration of Wildebeest takes place - this is the right time to spend extra days in the Mara to witness this spectacular event."
What wildlife can I expect to see on a Kenya and Tanzania safari?
The parks feature the "Big Five" (lion leopard elephant rhino buffalo) along with large groups of wildebeest zebras and gazelles. Both regions support diverse ecosystems with hippos giraffes and hundreds of bird species. The Serengeti and Masai Mara have earned their reputation for frequent big cat encounters. A TourRadar traveler shared: "We saw all the Big 5 animals during our safari. The Mara hosts Kenya's largest lion prides and elephant herds. The concentration of game within the Reserve almost guarantees that you will see 4 of the big five on your first game drive!"
What are the key differences between visiting Kenya versus Tanzania for safari?
Kenya's Masai Mara offers accessible savanna landscapes and frequent big cat sightings while Tanzania's Serengeti provides vast open spaces and the unique enclosed ecosystem of Ngorongoro Crater. According to TourRadar travelers: "Tanzania's Serengeti felt more remote with fewer vehicles while Kenya's Masai Mara had excellent infrastructure and frequent wildlife sightings." Kenya's Lake Nakuru specializes in rhino viewing while Tanzania's crater environment ensures reliable animal encounters.
What are some unique cultural experiences available during a Kenya and Tanzania safari?
The safari routes include stops at traditional Maasai communities local markets and heritage centers. One TourRadar traveler shared: "Visiting a Maasai village near Masai Mara was fascinating - we learned about their traditions saw traditional dances and got to buy beautiful handmade jewelry." Travelers can meet Samburu people in Kenya explore Olduvai Gorge in Tanzania and stay at culturally-inspired properties like Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge.

Canvas accommodations such as Mara Zebra Plains connect guests with nature through their open design. As one TourRadar traveler noted: "The lodges were wonderful with the best meals and views. We could see elephants and zebras right from our tent at Serengeti Heritage Lodge." Mid-tier options like Lake Nakuru Lodge balance comfort with safari authenticity.
How much does a Kenya and Tanzania safari typically cost?
