We chose the tour because we wanted to see as much of Oman as possible and to see it’s huge variety of stunning natural beauty. From beaches to mountains, wadis to hill top ancient villages, sand dunes to waterfalls. Oman has so much to offer and our guide Aziz made the experience wonderful. He ensured that we were happy throughout our two weeks and encouraged us to try new experiences - way beyond our expectations. We tried lots of local restaurants that we would never have found. We were in Oman when heavy rain flooded lots of areas and we had to cross deep water and negotiate mountain roads covered with rocks - we were never worried as Aziz is an excellent driver. He is a great travel companion - good sense of humour, easy to get on with and flexible according to our needs. Highly recommend the tour and Aziz.

Great tour. Private driver for my sister and self. Guide/driver was Supun, he was excellent and always looked out for us and a knowledgeable guide. The accommodation was excellent, many heachfront with great facilities, breakfasts and most dinners included. Very enjoyable food, including Western and Sri Lankan dishes which were yummy. We saw so many sites with Supun and being only my sister and myself, Supun could rearrange the itinerary slightly. Supan was always very courteous, polite and helpful. Apart from great scenery and adventures in our itinerary, we found the Sri Lankan people just lovely, respectful, clean and a lovely smile. We were not hassled ie, if a Tuk Tuk driver pulled up and wanted to give us a lift and we wanted to walk, they would just say OK and have a nice day when we said no. Slightly different in Colombo where people came up to us, started chatting and trying to suggest we get into the Tuk Tuks, obviously on commission or working for company. We never felt unsafe. We would definitely recommend and book with Asy Tours again. Thank you to Asy Tours and in particular, Supun. What a wonderful gesture, unbeknown to us, Supun took random photos of us enjoying our tour and at the end of tour presented us with a lovely collage of photos placed within the Sri Lankan map on a photoframe, plus a photo cup. Very lovely and unexpected. Thank you Asy and Supun. You made our tour special and thoroughly enjoyable. Lexie and Wendy

Amazing 6-Day-Safari in Tanzania with the best tour We had an unforgettable and perfect organised safari tour with our great tour guide Abu. He was very experienced, highly professional and had a profound knowledge of the environment and the animals. He was always one step ahead of the other tour operators and took us to unique places to spot animals incl. the Big Five. Also the first contact and correspondence before our journey with the office team was very professional. They created a tailormade tour for us and fullfiled all our wishes while being very helpful and friendly. We can highly recommend Serengeti African Tours

What our customers ask about Jeep & 4wd Tours & Trips
What wildlife viewing opportunities are possible from 4x4 vehicles?
You'll get amazingly close to Africa's wildlife from a 4x4 safari vehicle. In the Serengeti, you can easily spot the Big Five - lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos, and buffalo. One TourRadar traveler noted: "The elevated position in the 4x4 gave us incredible views of a pride of lions just meters away." When you visit places like Ngorongoro Crater Lodge, the morning drives take you right into the heart of the action, where you can see over 25,000 animals including zebras, wildebeest, and hippos going about their daily life.
How many hours per day are typically spent in the 4x4 vehicle?
You'll usually spend between 4 to 8 hours a day in the vehicle, split into morning and afternoon drives. In Kruger National Park, for example, morning drives start at sunrise around 6am and last 3-4 hours. Then you'll head out again from 3:30-6:30pm for the afternoon session. One TourRadar traveler explained: "While we had long days in the vehicle tracking wildlife, our guide ensured regular stops at picturesque spots like those near Serengeti Sopa Lodge for stretching and photography."
What type of accommodations can I expect on a 4WD tour?
Your accommodation options range from nice lodges to permanent tented camps and wilderness camping. When you're in Tanzania's Serengeti, you can stay at places like the Batonka Guest Lodge with its swimming pools and big rooms. In Botswana, you might find yourself at unique spots like the Buffelsdrift Luxury Lodge where you can watch animals at nearby waterholes. As one TourRadar traveler put it: "The tent camping at Buffelsdrift game reserve was top notch - getting to fall asleep to the sounds of elephants nearby was incredible."
When is the best time to book a 4WD safari tour?
It really depends on where you're going. For East Africa safaris in Kenya and Tanzania, most people go from July to October to see the Great Migration, or January to February for the calving season. If you're heading to Botswana, plan for May through October when the skies are clear and animals gather near water sources. One TourRadar traveler shared: "We saw the wildebeest migration in September which was absolutely spectacular - timing is everything for these natural events."
What kind of meals are provided during 4WD safaris?
Most tours include all your meals, freshly prepared each day. In Botswana camps, you'll have three meals a day plus snacks, all made by skilled chefs. Some Kenya tours even let you try local dishes as part of the experience. Here's what one TourRadar traveler said: "The camp chef Francis was amazing - preparing incredible meals even in remote locations. We had everything from traditional African dishes to familiar western options."
What wildlife viewing experiences can I expect?
You'll have plenty of chances to see Africa's Big Five - lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos, and buffalo - plus lots of other animals. In Tanzania's Serengeti, you can watch the Great Migration, while Botswana's Chobe National Park is the place to see huge herds of elephants. One TourRadar traveler mentioned: "In just four days we saw all of the Big Five plus countless other animals in their natural habitat - truly incredible."
What's the best time of year for a 4WD tour?
The best time varies by location. For Southern Africa safaris, try the dry winter months from May to October, when animals gather around water sources. If you're going to Jordan's Wadi Rum, spring (March-May) or fall (September-November) are perfect with temperatures between 68-77°F (20-25°C). Just avoid summer when it can get really hot, over 104°F (40°C).
