I note that there is $170 USD for entrance fees - how is this collected? At each individual site, at the start of the tour, or can it be added at the time of online booking?

    • Golden EgyptOperatorWritten March 2026

Since your departure date is December 2026, it is still quite early to confirm the exact hotel and Nile cruise. We work with a selection of high-quality hotels and cruises, and the final names are assigned closer to the travel date based on availability and sailing schedules.

    • Golden EgyptOperatorWritten March 2026

Could you please clarify what you mean by the service fee on the Nile cruise? The cruise itself includes accommodation and meals as per the itinerary, but if you are referring to tipping or personal expenses, those are usually not included.

    • Golden EgyptOperatorWritten March 2026

This is a group tour, and entrance tickets are not included. If you wish to enter the inner chambers of the Great Pyramid, you can simply purchase the specific ticket on-site, and your guide will assist you.

    • Golden EgyptOperatorWritten March 2026

The dinner will be on the Nile Pharaoh Cruise, which includes dinner and a show (such as belly dancing and entertainment).

    • Golden EgyptOperatorWritten March 2026

Entrance fees are not included in the tour price. They are usually around $170 USD per person and are paid directly at each site, preferably by card, although cash is also accepted in some places.

    • M

      Mark

      TravelerWritten March 2026

What are the Hotels and Nile cruise ship you typically deal with? If you can advise I can then check reviews. Presumably, because its still some months away, could I nominate my preferred hotel now after I've done my due diligence and then lock it in (If I book the tour this month)?

    • M

      Mark

      TravelerWritten March 2026

The "service fee" is essentially a compulsory, prepaid gratuity pool that covers tips for the onboard staff and crew (reception, restaurant, housekeeping, etc.). I am surprised that you are not aware of this?

    • M

      Mark

      TravelerWritten March 2026

As these are entrance fees, presumably experiences (such as the hot air ballooning and others) is included in the core tour price and not considered an entrance fee?

    • Golden EgyptOperatorWritten March 2026

For Cairo, we typically work with well-selected 5-star hotel options such as: Sonesta Cairo Hotel, El Masa Hotel, Pyramisa Suites, Helnan Dreamland, or a similar category hotel. Since your travel is still months away, the exact hotel is not finalized yet, as it depends on availability and the final operational arrangements. However, all hotels we use are within the same 5-star standard. Regarding your question about choosing a specific hotel: We understand your preference, and you are welcome to share your preferred option after reviewing, and we will do our best to secure it for you, subject to availability and rate differences at the time of booking.

    • Golden EgyptOperatorWritten March 2026

Yes, you are correct — the service fee is a standard onboard charge on Nile cruises. It is essentially a prepaid tipping pool that covers the crew (housekeeping, restaurant staff, etc.). This fee is handled directly by the cruise company, and it is not part of our tour pricing, which is why it is not always included in our breakdown.

    • Golden EgyptOperatorWritten March 2026

Correct — the entrance fees refer only to access tickets to archaeological sites and attractions (Pyramids, temples, museums, etc.). Experiences such as: Hot Air Balloon, Abu Simbel excursion, Nubian Village visit are considered optional activities, and they are included in the core tour price.

    • M

      Mark

      TravelerWritten March 2026

I have reviewed the hotels submitted and have a strong preference for the Helnan Dreamland Hotel based on reviews. Given how far away these dates are, surely availability shouldn't be an issue if this was prebooked 6 months in advance?

    • M

      Mark

      TravelerWritten March 2026

Typically, what is expected in terms of a service fee? I'm asking as I'm not familiar with the fee structure whereas Golden Egypt deals with these providers every day and could be in a better position to advise?

    • M

      Mark

      TravelerWritten March 2026

Given the ongoing conflict in Iran, I would like to get some certainty that once booked, we wont be hit by additional surcharges relating to fuel etc. Could someone give me those assurances?

    • Golden EgyptOperatorWritten March 2026

We completely understand your preference for Helnan Dreamland Hotel, as it is indeed a very well-rated property. While your travel dates are still some time away, hotels in Cairo — especially those with strong reviews — operate on dynamic availability and pricing. For this reason, we are unfortunately unable to guarantee securing this exact hotel this far in advance unless we proceed with a confirmed booking. However, once your reservation is confirmed, we will absolutely prioritize this hotel and do our very best to secure it for you or offer a very similar alternative if needed.

    • Golden EgyptOperatorWritten March 2026

As a general guideline: Drivers: approximately 5–10 USD per day, Tour guides: approximately 15–20 USD per day. That said, this is purely optional and always depends on your personal satisfaction with the service provided.

    • Golden EgyptOperatorWritten March 2026

Regarding your question about potential surcharges due to the current situation in Iran, please rest assured that once your booking is confirmed, your price is fully secured. There will be no additional charges or hidden surcharges related to fuel or external factors. We always honor the agreed price at the time of booking, ensuring complete transparency and peace of mind for our travelers.

    • M

      Mark

      TravelerWritten March 2026

You state "we are unfortunately unable to guarantee securing this exact hotel this far in advance unless we proceed with a confirmed booking". So, are you saying, If I make a booking say this week, you can guarantee securing the Helnan Dreamland Hotel? I'm seeking clarity on this as the next statement, you appear to be backing away..."once your reservation is confirmed, we will absolutely prioritize this hotel and do our very best to secure it for you or offer a very similar alternative if needed". Which is it?

    • M

      Mark

      TravelerWritten March 2026

The question around the service fee was not related to tipping in general. It was enquiring what the service fee on the Nile Cruises are typically. I understand that they request an upfront service fee significantly more than $10 to $20 USD/day. You have previously indicated in the correspondence thread above that you are not in possession of what the charges are and that they vary dependent on supplier. My question to you is, typically (or what is the range) of services fees for those three nights on board the cruise?

    • Golden EgyptOperatorWritten April 2026

Even if a booking is made now, we cannot guarantee 100% securing a specific hotel this far in advance, as hotels in Egypt (especially popular ones like Helnan Dreamland) do not always release or lock inventory that early and operate on dynamic availability. What we can guarantee is the following: Once your booking is confirmed, we will prioritize Helnan Dreamland as your first option and actively secure it as soon as availability opens for your dates. In the unlikely event it is not available at that time, we will provide a very similar or upgraded alternative of the same standard. So to be fully transparent — it is not a guaranteed confirmation at this stage, but it is a prioritized and managed allocation, which is the standard practice in Egypt for advance bookings.

    • Golden EgyptOperatorWritten April 2026

On Nile Cruises, there is typically a recommended service charge (tipping pool) collected on board at the beginning of the cruise. This covers crew members such as housekeeping, restaurant staff, and general service teams. For a 3-night Nile Cruise, the typical range is: $45 – $60 USD per person (total for the cruise). This is not a fixed mandatory fee by us, but rather a standard recommendation across most cruise operators in Egypt. The exact amount may vary slightly depending on the cruise company, but this range is what you can realistically expect.

    • Golden EgyptOperatorWritten February 2026

This tour includes **all services, transportation, guiding, accommodation, and activities**, but **government entrance fees** are handled separately unless you choose to add them as a supplement.

What is included in the base tour price:
      • Airport transfers
      • All transportation during the tour
      • Domestic flights (Cairo–Aswan / Luxor–Cairo or equivalent)
      • Guided tours throughout with professional licensed guides
      • Accommodation in Cairo, on the Nile cruise, and other cities as per itinerary
      • Nile cruise on full board (breakfast, lunch, dinner)
      • All activities listed in the itinerary as experiences

Activities that are included as *experiences* (guiding, transport, logistics included) but **entrance fees are excluded unless added**:
      • Al Fayoum Oasis day tour
      • Alexandria day tour
      • Karnak Temple Sound & Light Show
      • Abu Simbel

This is why you see them listed under "What's Included" — the **experience is included**, but **government ticket prices are paid separately**, as these fees change frequently and are set by the authorities.

    • Golden EgyptOperatorWritten February 2026

We plan the tour to allow **proper time at each major site**, not rushed visits.

      Examples:
      • Giza Plateau: sufficient time to explore the pyramids area, Sphinx, viewpoints, and photo stops
      • Going inside a pyramid: possible if you choose to buy the internal-entry ticket (time is allowed for this)
      • Valley of the Kings: multiple tombs included, with enough time to explore comfortably
      • Major temples (Karnak, Luxor, Philae, Edfu, Kom Ombo): standard guided visits with free time after explanations

The itinerary is paced so you can **see and experience each site properly**, while still keeping days smooth and not overly long.

    • Golden EgyptOperatorWritten February 2026

Approximate current costs per person (subject to government changes):

Major included sites combined: around **175–190 USD per person total**

      Examples:
      • Giza Plateau: ~15 USD
      • Inside a pyramid (optional): ~15–20 USD
      • Grand Egyptian Museum: ~20 USD
      • Valley of the Kings: ~15 USD (extra tombs optional)
      • Abu Simbel: ~25–30 USD
      • Major temples: ~10–15 USD each

    • Golden EgyptOperatorWritten February 2026

Cairo accommodation is typically **high-quality apartment-style or 4-star equivalent**, selected for comfort, cleanliness, and location near the sites.

      Commonly used options include:
      • Sonesta
      • Helnan dreamland
      • Pyramisa suites hotel

Exact hotel is confirmed closer to departure, but **category and standard are guaranteed**.

    • Golden EgyptOperatorWritten February 2026

The Nile cruise is a **5-star standard cruise**, such as:
      • Royal Signature or Nile Shams or Similar

      All cruises include:
      • Full board (breakfast, lunch, dinner)
      • Guided sightseeing from the cruise
      • Air-conditioned cabins with private bathrooms

Final ship name is confirmed closer to travel based on availability, always within the same 5-star category.

    • Golden EgyptOperatorWritten February 2026

Yes — if you extend your stay **at the same Cairo hotel**, it's more economical and easier logistically.

This avoids changing hotels and makes transfers smoother.

    • Golden EgyptOperatorWritten January 2026

The tour includes 5-star accommodation throughout. Hotels are subject to availability at the time of booking, but typically we use properties such as Helnan Dream Hotel, Sonesta Hotel, or similar 5-star hotels. For the Nile cruise, we work with 5-star cruise boats such as Renaissance, Nile Shams, MS Smiramis III, or other boats of the same 5-star category. All accommodations and cruises are always of equivalent quality.

    • Golden EgyptOperatorWritten January 2026

Unfortunately, we are not able to offer additional discounts for February 2026. The tour price is already set at our best available rate.

    • Golden EgyptOperatorWritten January 2026

The main costs not included in the tour price are the entrance fees to the sightseeing sites. Any personal expenses (such as drinks, souvenirs, or optional activities) would also be extra.

    • Golden EgyptOperatorWritten January 2026

Yes, the tour does include Alexandria, and it is possible to visit the inside of the Library of Alexandria as part of the program.

is your company new - there are not so many reviews on tour radar compared to others

    • Golden EgyptOperatorWritten January 2026

The total cost of entrance fees for the sightseeing included in the itinerary is approximately USD 180 per person. As stated in the tour description, entrance fees are not included in the package price so guests can budget and pay directly on site.

    • Golden EgyptOperatorWritten January 2026

Tipping is not collected at the beginning of the tour. It is entirely at your discretion and can be given directly during the tour. As a general guideline only: Drivers and cruise staff: USD 5–10 per day. Tour guides (on touring days): USD 10–15 per day. These amounts are recommendations only, and you are welcome to adjust them as you see fit.

    • Golden EgyptOperatorWritten January 2026

Approximately 3 hours are allocated for visiting the Grand Egyptian Museum in Cairo.

    • Golden EgyptOperatorWritten January 2026

There is no problem at all catering for a vegetarian guest. Please inform the guide during the Cairo tours for lunch arrangements. On the Nile cruise, meals are served as an open buffet with a wide variety of options, including vegetarian choices.

    • Golden EgyptOperatorWritten January 2026

Our company is not new; however, we are a newly introduced operator on the rise on TourRadar, which is why there are currently fewer reviews compared to some other operators. We have extensive experience operating tours in Egypt and are confident in the quality of service we provide.

We would like to fly out of Hurghada on Monday 16 February). Marsa Alam is also fine for us by the way. It just needs to be a lovely hotel that you can wholeheartedly recommend for a young couple without kids. I have heard Marsa Alam is a bit warmer, but it might not make a big difference?

    • Golden EgyptOperatorWritten December 2025

For Cairo accommodation, we can offer Sonesta Cairo Hotel (or similar standard) in a double standard room for you and your wife.

    • Golden EgyptOperatorWritten December 2025

Yes, we can absolutely arrange sightseeing in Cairo on 4 February after your early morning arrival, and we can also schedule a full dedicated day at the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM).

    • Golden EgyptOperatorWritten December 2025

Regarding the Red Sea stay, we can arrange either Hurghada or Marsa Alam. Both are excellent choices; Marsa Alam is usually a bit quieter and slightly warmer, but the difference is not significant. We will recommend a lovely, well-reviewed hotel suitable for a young couple without kids.

Could you please confirm the price per person for three people travelling together? We would also appreciate some clarification regarding the accommodation arrangements. Price / Availability
    • Golden EgyptOperatorWritten December 2025

I'm happy to confirm that for three friends traveling together, the price will be 1,960 USD per person in a triple room. Regarding the accommodation arrangements, you will be staying in one triple room, and it will be prepared with three separate beds (twin beds + an additional bed). No one will have to share a bed at any point during the entire tour — this setup applies to all hotels and the Nile cruise.

My mom and I are planning a trip to Egypt, and we were wondering if it would be possible to book a hotel that's quite close to the pyramids. When browsing hotels we noticed that some seem to offer views of the pyramids from their restaurant or terrace — is that really feasible? If yes, could you let us know which hotel(s) in your offer have this kind of view (or could easily arrange a room/restaurant view)?

    Accommodation
    • Golden EgyptOperatorWritten November 2025

Yes, it is absolutely possible to stay in a hotel close to the Pyramids and even enjoy a beautiful pyramid view from the terrace or restaurant — it's a wonderful experience, especially at sunset. We actually work with multiple hotels near the Pyramids, and two of our preferred options are King Pyramids View and Locanda Museum Hotel. Both offer excellent standards, great service, and beautiful views, and they are the hotels we regularly use for our tours. We can definitely arrange a room or dining experience that matches your preferences.

    • Golden EgyptOperatorWritten November 2025

We do not collect the $170 entrance fees from you. You will simply pay the entrance fees at each site directly, and you can pay by card at all the major sites. For tipping, it is preferred to tip in US dollars, but Egyptian Pounds are also acceptable if that is easier for you.
