Reviews of Small Group tours to Egypt
- Nile Jewel - 5 Star Cruise
Everything from Airport pick up to drop off was perfect. The Itenary was hectic with early starts but well worth it. Our guide George was very informative and thorough on all the sights and was with us the entire time. There was no time on tour we felt unsafe. I would advise whoever wants to do this Iternary to do flight upgrade from the bus ride from Cairo to Aswan. The sunrise hot air balloon in Luxor was amazing. Scuba diving out of Hurghada was fantastic with one on diver and instructor, so completely safe and Salama my instructor was very patient with a first like me. Also make sure to speak up if your room or cabin is acceptable will make for a more comfortable experience they will do their best to accommodate your request. The Hotel is Cairo was excellent but the Hotel in Hurghada needs a bit o desired for, Was outdated, atleast the room I had. We requested as a tour group requested to go the New Museum instead of the old Museum and George made it happen. Overall I would recommend this tour to anybody who wants a concise idea of Egypt with Culture and adventure.
- Discover Egypt 10 Day (Cairo- Nile Cruise -Hurghada)
Cruising the Nile was still on the buckit list of my 86 old mother. Of course I felt a bit hesitant taking her on such trip on that age, but we did and I am so grateful for that. We travelled with 4 (my mother, my partner, my daughter and I), and only two other (nice) tourists joined our group. Everything was perfectly arranged. From picking us up at the airport in Cairo to dropping us of in Hurghada airport at the end. Everybody was helpfull and friendly. The hotel in Gizeh was big and clean and all marble, with a direct view on the pyramids from our bed and balcony (and that was just the 3 star one). The hotel in Luxor was beautiful and peaceful, especially in the evening from the rooftop, in the middle of green fields, full of birds, overlooking the Nile and the valley of the kings. The nighttrain to Aswan is an experience. It seems to be made in the 50's and never be renovated again. But it is safe, clean and we slept well. We really enjoyed it. Don't forget a warm sweater since the AC is constantly on in the train. Some tours are very early in the morning, but thats really the best part of the day (with the light and temperature). In the afternoon, especially on the boat, is plenty of time for siestas. Special thanks to Maha, our Gizeh guide, and Abdulla, our guide from Aswan to Luxor. They have such a great knowledge of the Egyptian history and showed it with so much enthousiasm and proudness. Also thanks for all the drivers and helpers who picked us up and dropped us off on all different places. Always on time and arranging all the hassle with visa and tickets etc. Remind Egypt is a tip country (I wasn't aware at first) and people shall really appreciate a tip (though none of the staff ever asked for it). If you're a student, don't forget a student card. Safes you half the entrance price everywere. Egypte is safe, with friendly people, beautiful nature (don't skip the coral snorkling directly from the resort beach) and bursting with ancient history. We really loved it
- Kingdom of Egypt - 8 Days (Cairo, Aswan - Nile Cruise - Luxor) & Sleeper Train Round Trip
Talaat Abdo was the best tour guide during our Nile cruise! He was so informative and shared deep knowledge of Egypt’s history. Thanks to him, visiting Philae Temple, Abu Simbel, Kom Ombo, and Edfu Temple was unforgettable and truly meaningful.
What our customers ask about Egypt Small Group Tours
What is the typical group size for small group tours in Egypt?
Small group tours in Egypt generally consist of 8-15 travelers providing an ideal balance between social interaction and individual attention. On Nile cruises the boats often accommodate 2-3 small groups with stays at quality accommodations like the Mercure Hurghada Resort. As one TourRadar traveler noted "our group of 12 was perfect - large enough to be social but small enough that our guide could give personal attention at sites like Abu Simbel and the pyramids."
How does the accommodation differ for small group tours versus larger tours?
Travelers on small group tours often stay in select properties such as the Steigenberger El Tahrir Hotel in Cairo and boutique Nile cruise vessels with 30-40 cabins. The limited group size allows access to distinctive lodging options like traditional Nubian guesthouses and better room assignments. According to a TourRadar review "our small group stayed at the Mercure Hurghada Resort with premium sea view rooms - something not possible with larger tours."
What unique experiences are available specifically for small group tours in Egypt?
The intimate size enables access to local experiences including private dinners with Nubian families in Aswan quiet sunrise balloon rides over Luxor and flexible timing at major sites. Groups can enjoy private felucca sailing trips photos at the pyramids without crowds and stays on smaller Nile cruise boats. One traveler noted "our small group size meant we could visit local markets with our guide and learn about Egyptian spices and customs in a way impossible with large groups."
How does the Nile cruise experience differ with a small group?
Small group Nile cruises operate on upscale boats like the MS Sonesta or MS Jaz Regent offering attentive service preferred cabin choices and relaxed dining. As shared by a TourRadar guest: "With just 6 of us on the cruise portion we had fantastic access to the sundeck personal attention from the crew and could easily gather for historical briefings before each stop at temples like Kom Ombo and Edfu."
How does the guide interaction differ in small group tours of Egypt?
The limited group size allows Egyptologist guides to provide detailed explanations tailored to individual interests. Guides can adjust the pace answer specific questions and share in-depth knowledge at sites from Luxor Temple to the Pyramids. According to one traveler: "Our guide Mansour could really engage with each person in our small group making the historical sites come alive with detailed stories and explanations."
