As soon as we arrived in Cairo, we had to dig deep into our wallets: $8 tip per person per day. Of course, this was mentioned in the booking, but we were surprised to find that these tips were also required for the days spent on our own in Hurghada. And that's not all: these tips did not include those of the guide, which added considerably to the bill. This can get expensive, especially for a country like Egypt. As for our guide, there was nothing to complain about: Ahmed was excellent, very accommodating, and we had a great time learning a lot from him. On the other hand, the part of the tour in Hurghada, which we had planned to do on our own, was another disappointment. We had enthusiastically booked the *super safari* for 85 euros per person. At that price, we thought we'd have an almost private experience. Unfortunately, the opposite was true. We found ourselves in a crowded place, with over 100 tourists crammed in to use quads and buggies. As soon as we arrived, we had to pay again: 8 euros for safety goggles. For a service costing 85 euros, we were surprised that this wasn't included. The activities were also disappointing: - 7 minutes of quad biking with constant stops to sell us photos, - 8 minutes on a buggy, - 20 meters on a camel. It was a day that stuck in our craw, all the more so as other tourists confided in us that they had paid only 20 dollars for the same service. When we asked Holiday in Egypt for an explanation, we got no answer. If you're considering a trip with *Holiday in Egypt*, be prepared for hidden charges. Above all, avoid their ancillary activities, as you'll find exactly the same ones on platforms like *GetYourGuide* for four times less, with equivalent services. A real rip-off. We had chosen to go through an agency hoping for private, quality activities. In the end, everything seemed to be organized to line the agency's pockets.Show more

Sharon· January 3rd, 2025My review is that the tour itself which is run by Holiday in Egypt, lived up to taking us to the places it said. The tour guide was a lovely man Nabil. The down side was that we were continuously running late or waiting for someone to come back to group at specified time. The crowds and Queues were horrendous and we spent a lot of time waiting. We would start the day earlier because of this. Such as 3:30 and 4:40 most days and still find ourselves waiting. The time at the attraction was penalised due to this. At Abu simbel we drove 3.5 hrs to get there, just to have 45 mins to see it. Not one person got to go in both temples. Then 3.5 hrs return to boat. I asked for a refund. However was declined, though I was offered other short tours to do for free, which I was not interested in doing. !! We actually delayed the boat in leaving port due to being late getting back. I don’t think this one attraction should be on this tour as it’s too far away. It was disappointing and a lot of people were upset about it. The same story of it’s someone else’s fault! I suspect that the whole tour should be run more professionally. It was chaotic, and distressing in that I rarely got a detailed response as to what I was actually doing until I complained to Tour Radar and then I started getting feedback. Such a shame. Because they are really nice people. Just not professional or timely. Tourism Egypt has no sense of crowd control. A lot of the problems would be ironed out if they simply put in a one way system. It also ended up costing me an extra $750 due to everyone on my tour leaving earlier than the end date and as I did not want to be left in Hurghada by myself I was advised to fly back to Cairo. I learnt real fast that nothing is cheap in Egypt. Show moreTrip date: December 2024- LSLana· December 27th, 2024We had a fabulous 9 days in Egypt. From the arrival to departure all was taken care of. All transportation was on time. In Cairo we met with Mohamed C, who was very pleasant and explained all that is included and what is optional (excursions). We paid for an upgrade to fly to Aswan due to my health mainly, otherwise we would have been on an overnight train. Whilst in Cairo we stayed at World Trade Hotel … in what seem like a penthouse apartment – with balcony and amazing views of the city. We hardly made a use of it but are so grateful for the comfort we had - THANK YOU! We visited all as per schedule and had assigned driver Bob and guide Muhamed G. Bob was very reliable young man, who knows his way around incredibly busy Cairo streets, ensuring we are always comfortable. Sweet and chatty personality with great knowledge of Cairo. Once in Aswan we boarded Le Fayan 2 ship for our 3 day cruise. Another Mohamed (Kamal) was our guide. He is a local to Luxor and everywhere we went he ensured we were never in a queue(!) Lots of people seem to know him and he was clearly liked by all. He was very patient (at times I missed some info in his speech), with a great knowledge of Egyptian history. Friendly, smiley and reliable person. Due to delay in cruise ship arriving into Luxor, our schedule was bit delayed too. So, we ended up seeing Karnak Tempe the following day. This meant we took our bus to Hurghada at 5pm rather than 2pm. As we were going to arrive after dinner into our beautiful all-inclusive resort (Iberotel Casa Del Mar) Mohamed C advised we take a dinner and post the bill to them. After all it was not needed. Hurghada resort was lovely and clean, and staff very polite and accommodating. Great entertainment during day and evening. Assess to the sea through sister resort, next door – all so easy and well looked after. Finally, going to the airport (back to Cairo from Hurghada) was planned and executed immaculately. We boarded a bus at 8.01 am for 6 hrs (to Nasr City as closer to the airport) and were collected by lovely Bob (hello again!) and taken to the airport with plenty of time for check in (started at 3.00pm) – you WILL NEED IT as its very busy and lots of security checks. Our flight was 18.10pm Mohamed C was always available and efficient with his responses with very transparent communication. All was so well organised and executed. Accommodation was great throughout. Paying tips per person per day at the start ensured we were never hassled and always taken to right places for souvenirs. Every guide ensured to give us best advice ahead of time. We were little wary about this trip in terms of safety but quickly learned we were in great hands with no need for concern. Mustafa, Mohamed x 3 , Bob and all others along the way - well done! - Pri· November 29th, 2024I travelled with my parents and uncle on the 9 day tour. Unfortunately due to an unforeseen medical issue, I had to rush back to London. HIE were responsive in assisting me with booking the return flight, and looked after my parents during the remainder of the trip. I would add that if you have an Indian (or other Asian) passport then please be careful as there is an unwritten and little-known expectation that you need to register with Police within 7 days. Usually this is done by the hotels, whereby they send the passport details through to the local Police. We were unaware of this as were HIE, and the airport would not let them board their flight home without paying a fine in USD or GBP. They would not accept card payment or Egyptian currency. HIE were responsive and tried to get the currency to my parents at the airport but it was too late and they missed the flight. Although it was a bad end to their trip, they still thoroughly enjoyed the tours and hotels, and found the guides to be friendly and helpful. - Debra· November 27th, 2024Loved! Loved! Loved! We packed so many magical things into just a few days. We started with Sue guiding us around the Pyramids and the new museum. She was knowledgeable, friendly, and made our time together such a delight. The night train was interesting…? Hassan was the greatest guide! He explained the importance of the temple/monument/tomb and knows all the tricks to make the most of time spent at each site. The hot air balloon ride was one of the most incredible experiences of my life! We ended in Hurgada. Easy relaxing by the beach as a way to end our tour. We did the safari- it’s a lot of driving fast in the desert. Group sizes were small enough for us to make friends and be manageable for the guides. Trip date: November 2024 - Megan· November 27th, 2024I just returned from a once-in-a-lifetime 9-day trip to Egypt with Tour Radar and I couldn’t be more impressed! Some of the highlights of the tour were visiting the awe-inspiring Abu Simbel temple, the great pyramids of Giza, exploring a Nubian Village, and marveling at the other incredible temples and tombs throughout Egypt, including the Valley of the Kings. One of the most memorable moments was a hot air balloon ride in Luxor, which offered breathtaking aerial views of the temples—an experience I’ll never forget and well worth the extra cost! What truly made this tour stand out was the amazing team of guides and drivers. Specifically, Su and Hassan were not only incredibly knowledgeable about Egypt’s history and culture, but they were also friendly, approachable, and passionate about sharing their country’s rich culture with us. The only recommendations we have is to purchase an e-Sim package as the boat cruise WiFi is an extra charge and isn’t the greatest. Also, bring good walking shoes! Tour Radar does an excellent job of getting you as close as possible to the temples and sites, however the temples are very large to explore! As a first-time visitor to Egypt, this tour covers so many iconic historical sites and offers delicious traditional Egyptian meals, all at a very reasonable price. Whether you’re into history, culture, or just seeking adventure, this tour had something for everyone. They put together a great tour and we could see many wonderful sights. The food on the Nile Cruise was absolutely amazing.
