The tour was well organized. An absolute adventure perhaps rather than a relaxing holiday. Jam packed with tours led by Ahmed Elkallaf. Thanks to Ahmed we were given excellent commentary at each site and he linked the story of ancient Egypt beautifully as we journeyed, making it easy to remember and understand. As a group we enjoyed some downtime on the boat which had a great top deck with jacuzzi. The food and service were also excellent.

The positives: the sights were fantastic and worth the effort. The guide for the trips was excellent.The administration throughout the trip was good, although much of the advice about flights etc was last minute via WhatsApp. The negatives: the boat (Nile Story)was a 4 star effort and definitely not 5 stars. The cabin etc was adequate but not 5 star standard. Similarly with the transport to sights…it was adequate but not 5 star standard. The food was plentiful but boring. I got home with an e-coli infection which presumably was a result of the food. The restaurant staff were excellent. There was no wifi available on board, which in this day and age is unacceptable. Be ready for a lot of early starts…we had to get up at 2.15 am for our flight from Cairo to Luxor. Conclusion: The tour was definitely worth it and the value for money was quite good, but the description as 5 stars was way over-selling the reality.
