  This premium tour provided by Egypt Direct Tours was the perfect experience to uncover everything Egypt has to offer and more. There is no way I could’ve planned such an impressive holiday independently like I have done in places across Europe. All the experiences were tailored to what Egyptians want tourists to experience when they come to their country. Our guides Nasser and Omar were excellent, both extremely knowledgable, kind and supportive with any questions or requests we had throughout the tour. Their suggestions on who to purchase goods from, who to tip and what to tip, and what experiences were worthwhile to partake in all felt genuine and no one ever never sought to take advantage of us as unknowing tourists. Our driver Hassan was prompt and so easy to engage in conversation with that no drive ever felt too far away. If anyone asks me in the future what’s the best way to experience Egypt, I will highly recommend this premium tour provided by Egypt Direct Tours.Show more

  The overall itinerary was good. My husband found the drive to Abu Simbel long. The final day’s activities in Aswan were not necessary and we were all ready to return to Cairo. Local restaurant at Aswan served food that lead to stomach upset. More night time entertainment needed on board the boat until 10pm due to early morning starts. The belly dancing show for example was goood. We are unsure whether the Blue Shadow crew received our tip money as our guide Omar asked for it to be handed to himself and not put into the tip box at reception on the boat. We feel costs like entrance fees and tips should be included in the package price. This will make it easier for us. Overall the cost of entrance fees was a lot higher than indicated by Tour Radar. Guides- Mamdouh was excellent. Mahommed we found a bit hard to understand his accent.Show more

The final amount depends on the government ticket prices for the sites visited, such as Philae Temple, the Unfinished Obelisk, and the High Dam.   Overall, it was a beautiful and highly recommendable experience. It was really impressive to see all of this with my own eyes. Our days in Cairo and Giza were definitely the highlight of the trip. Together with our guide Nasser and our driver Yssry, we had an amazing time. From the very beginning, both of them were incredibly warm, attentive, and always responsive to our wishes and interests. They made us feel completely comfortable right away, and we truly enjoyed every moment with them! In general, the staff at the hotel and on the cruise ship were also consistently attentive and polite. Everything was very clean at all times, and the beds were comfortable, which made our stay even more enjoyable. Unfortunately, not everything was perfect. What disappointed us a bit was that, despite this being a guided tour, we often had to take care of organizational matters ourselves almost daily. This mostly involved getting contacted by the next day’s guide and coordinating pick-up times, which sometimes changed multiple times or were communicated differently by the guide and the main contact person at Egypt Direct Tours. We found this quite unfortunate, as we had expected a smoother and more organized experience. We had also assumed that we would have one guide accompanying us throughout the entire tour, rather than a different guide at each location. However, we are not sure if this may have been due to the fact that, in the end, it was just the two of us on the tour. Additionally, we found the tipping culture somewhat challenging. Although we followed the tour operator’s recommendations regarding tips, we were told on one occasion that the tip we gave was not sufficient, which led to a slightly uncomfortable situation.Show more
