We only booked this four days before the start, and nevertheless, Mostafa was able to handle all the booking, which was really great! Mostafa was always available via WhatsApp for all of our questions and was super polite. The tour itself is a fairly standard tour. Important to know: Mostafa books every person or group individually, and you only travel with other people on the Nile cruise. For the two of us, this was great. If you travel alone, keep in mind that you will be on your own for at least 60% of the tour. There were a lot of tourists between Assuan and Cairo, but that’s just how it is. The whole tour-setup from Mostafa was well-thought-out; during the hottest times (noon), we didn't walk a lot in the sun, which was perfect. Our absolute highlight was the balloon ride (costs extra). In this case, the huge amount of tourists was actually great, because all around us there were so many other balloons, which looked amazing (great for photos, too!). The value for money is also pretty good, as most other tours are far more expensive. The only downside I have to mention is that our tour guides, a.k.a. “Egyptologists,” were nice and helpful, but their English was only good enough to convey information, not to handle questions. Also, quite a few of the "facts" they provided have been proven false. Most of the other tour guides (from the more expensive tours) did a far better job. But hey: You get what you pay for, and most of the facts were still correct. For everything else, there are documentaries, so the lower tour price was more important to us. The tour guides did a pretty good job of getting us to all the locations as quickly as possible. They knew a lot of people and their way around, which was very helpful. Also to mention: The night train (we booked the option with beds) is super old and pretty dirty. The tracks are bumpy, so it was had to sleep. If that’s a problem for you, take another option, as there is not really an alternative via train. For us it was an experience and we’d do it again. The extra price is justified, as the train tickets are really $105 per person - for tourists its way more expensive than for locals, but that’s the price of the train company. The train tickets were brought to the hotel one day in advance, so again: Mostafa did an amazing job here. Overall, we absolutely recommend this tour, especially for the price. Mostafa was amazing, and we had an absolutely great time, particularly because we didn't have to take care of anything! Usually, when we travel, we plan and book everything on our own. This year, that just wasn't possible, so this tour was a perfect match for us.Show more

  Marsa Allam looks a bit nicer than Hurghada; however, the flights only leave at 0230. How would I get to Hurghada from Marsa Allam to fly out? Is Hurghada equally nice and do you have a trip that ends there? If I flew in a day early could I do the Alfayoum trip in 1 day?

  Yes, Marsa Alam is beautiful, with its stunning beaches and tranquility. You can travel from Marsa Alam to Hurghada by car, which takes 3 to 4 hours. Hurghada is also beautiful, and yes, we have a tour that ends there. And yes, if you add an extra night to your tour and arrive the night before, you can visit Fayoum in one day.

  Can you please tell me what the experience is like as a private tour? Will the guide be with us at all times? Will it be the same guide throughout the entire trip? What Nile cruise ship is booked and what star level? I assume as a private trip we could add extras fairly easily? If it is just my son and I do you recommend a private or a group? I am surprised that the private tour is cheaper than most of the group tours. Why is that?
