  The two men that helped us through Vacations To Go was well organized and transport to and from excursions was seamless. Our guide John Eman was amazing and so knowledgeable about all our excursions and getting us organized on the cruise to and from events. I think he was as upset as we were when he had to tell us that the hot air balloon ride had been cancelled. John Adolf, who picked us up from the airport, showed us how to navigate it and got us where we needed to be when we needed to be there was also well organized and amazing. However, Tourradar needs to be more explicit in their description of what is and isn’t included. The GEM Museum was extra along with King Tuts tomb and a couple of other sites. The unexpected charges seemed to be more than necessary when, you think everything has been paid for. I got confused by the note that came out with all our names in different colours detailing the itinerary. It would be more helpful and easier to see my itinerary only, rather than everyone’s going down and across, trying to see mine. Especially, when looking at your phone……. the print is small and you are unable to get it to flip to see it the length of the phone rather than the width. Also, Tourradar kept sending me emails with another persons name but, with my email address, even after I had asked them to fix it a couple of times.Show more

  This was such a great tour. There is a lot to cram into the itinerary for a week so the early starts can get pretty punishing. But it paid off because our guides were able to get us into the sites before a lot of the larger groups arrived. Our guide in Cairo, Sarah, was super friendly and knowledgeable, and gave us a lot of information about modern Cairo as well as the ancient sites. On the cruise, Mansour accompanied us and was equally great both to talk to and in terms of taking care of us and of course his knowledge of the sites. We didn't do any of the extra tours as we felt we wanted to enjoy Aswan and Luxor and the experience of cruising the Nile - as well as grabbing a few much-needed lie-ins. The boat we were on, the Chateau Lafayette, was great and the food and staff were fantastic. Overall, I highly recommend this tour for those with only a week to visit. Ideally, you'd probably come for slightly longer and take things at a slower pace.Show more

  Very well organised tour, from start to finish. We were met by representatives at each stage of the journey by Vacations-to-Go who negotiated us through the various airports. This was very reassuring as we didn’t need to worry about getting through immigration, to the bus or the boat. The two Egyptologist guides were very good. Both gave sound advice in handling the many street hawkers selling their goods and our safety. Michael in Cairo was very knowledgeable and accommodating, helping us through the crowds at the Pyramids, Museum and the bazaar. He was very friendly and made us welcome. Special mention to Hassan Ashour who we met at Aswan. He was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. He was also very conscientious in ensuring that all in our group enjoyed themselves and covered what they wanted from the tour, especially as he had a group from three different countries to consider. He made us very welcome and we enjoyed his company. We highly recommend Hassan. The cruise was very enjoyable, comfortable and relaxing, with all staff being very friendly. The meals were varied, plentiful and very good.Show more

  Our tour began with George in Cairo and the surrounding area. He did an outstanding job of explaining what we saw in both the museums and at the sites. Next we flew to Luxor and began our cruise with Mansour. We really appreciated his vast knowledge, storytelling and helping to put everything into historical context. He exceeded all our expectations. Driving around we felt safe and looked after by our guides and drivers. Our boat was the Chateau Lafayette. It was clean and comfortable. But it smelled of food for most of the trip. Service was good; however improvements could be made with snacks available between meals and coffees like cappuccinos and lattes in the morning. The food was not to the level expected with offerings limited, repeated and quality suffering (especially for breakfast and lunch). The food was the most disappointing aspect of the journey and left us hungry most days.Show more
