  2. Day 2

    Bangkok

    After breakfast at the hotel, you'll head out on a guided cultural tour. First stop is Wat Traimit to see the massive 5.5-tonne solid gold Buddha statue. Then you'll go to Wat Po, which has the famous 45-meter reclining Buddha and a historic Thai massage school there. From there, the Grand Palace comes next with its detailed halls and the revered Emerald Buddha inside. You'll get back to the hotel by afternoon and have the rest of the day free to do as you like.

    Chiang Mai

    You have a free day to relax or join an optional half-day elephant sanctuary tour if you want. The tour drives through rolling hills and forests to a sustainable elephant facility. You'll change into traditional Karen clothing, help prepare elephant medicine, and then feed and bathe the elephants in the river. Traditional Thai lunch is included before heading back to Chiang Mai.

    Halong Bay

    You'll check out of your hotel and head toward Halong Bay, driving through the scenic Red River Delta with its emerald green rice paddies. Once you board your cruise, you'll see limestone rocks and karst grottoes. After a seafood lunch, the cruise stops for kayaking or swimming to check out the grottoes. Later you'll return to the boat for dinner and have evening time to relax.

Brunch happens while cruising back to harbor, and after that your driver transfers you back to your accommodation in Hanoi.

In the evening, walk through the Old Town area where lantern-lit shops create a nice atmosphere, and watch colorful street performances.

    Your guide picks you up between 8:00 and 8:30 AM for a full day Hue city tour. Start with a 30-minute dragon boat cruise on the Perfume River to visit Thien Mu Pagoda, Hue's oldest pagoda. Then you'll explore the Hue Imperial Citadel, home to Vietnam's last royal dynasty. Stop at Dong Ba Market to see local commerce and find souvenirs. After lunch with Hue dishes and a herbal foot bath, visit Khai Dinh King's Tomb, which blends Western and Eastern architecture, and Minh Mang King's Tomb, the most impressive royal tomb. See the Conical Hat Village and Incense Stick Village where local craftspeople work. You'll return to your hotel between 4:00 and 5:00 PM.

You'll visit the late 19th-century Vinh Trang pagoda, then board a sampan to cruise past four beautiful islands: Dragon, Unicorn, Phoenix, and Tortoise. Stop at Unicorn Island for a walk through village paths, try tropical fruits, and listen to local folk music. Visit a family bee-keeping farm, have honey tea, and join a coconut candy workshop. Lunch happens at a local restaurant. Later, explore Tan Thach village by bicycle, meeting local people and seeing their daily life in the Mekong delta. You can relax on hammocks if you prefer. The day ends in Can Tho for the night.

    I was quite curious and excited when I saw the name of this tour. I have never heard of Smiling Land before.     • Unfortunately we cannot offer you a visa application service. Whether you need a visa or not depends on your nationality and where you wish to travel. Assuming your home country does not have a visa agreement with the country you're planning to visit, you will need to apply for a visa in advance of your scheduled departure.
    • Here is an indication for which countries you might need a visa. Please contact the local embassy for help applying for visas to these places.
  • Payment information
    • For any tour departing before March 10th, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after March 10th, 2026, a minimum payment of 20% is required to confirm your booking with Responsible Asia. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 35 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
    • Some departure dates and prices may vary and Responsible Asia will contact you with any discrepancies before your booking is confirmed.
    • The following cards are accepted for "Responsible Asia" tours: Visa, Maestro, Mastercard, American Express or PayPal. TourRadar does NOT charge you an extra fee for using any of these payment methods.
