This proved to be not true. After much discussion, as well as their own itinerary which stated all-inclusive, they did give me compensation. I opted for this tour as part of our honeymoon trip together with my husband and we were very satisfied with it. All the people involved are very kind and quick to help, and it is very easy to contact them if you have questions or need any help. The tour went great and we were very happy with our guides (Sarah and Ra). We also booked a hot air balloon in Luxor but unfortunately that one got cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances, however we were able to contact the touroperator quickly and got a quick refund without any problems. :) We both really enjoyed to Nile Cruise. If we ever get the chance, we would definitely do it again! Our resort in Hurghada was also great, we really enjoyed our stay there! ❤️ Our thoughts and tips: - Definitely bring egyptian pounds with you for giving tips as it is very customary to do that in Egypt! You can look op on the internet how much is acceptable. - Cairo is jam packed with cars, they are constantly honking and there are barely any cross roads so you will have to shimmy your way between the driving cars. They will slow down for you to pass but they wont stop. - You can use an uber in Cairo to help you travel. We would recommend downloading the app first. - Get a simcard at a reliable shop so you can use data when you're outside. We got ours in a Orange shop. - Cairo was our least favorite city because of the crowd and noise, however the Nile cruise was really worth it! We loved the combination of going out on tours and being able to rest on the ship. We also loved our resort in Hurghada! - To avoid the midday heat, the tour guides will sometimes choose to do a tour early in the morning or late in the evening. They create whatsapp groupchats to inform you of the timing.Show more

The Ithaca tour staff in Egypt were first class in every aspect of the tour, from their subject knowledge through to their willingness to assist with any issues. Highly commended. Disappointing though was their steerage of us through art galleries, jewellery manufacturers and the like, not on the itinerary but an essential addition to their incomes. A lack of advice by Tour Radar in respect of the issues with the overnight train (sleeper car) need to see this component of the itinerary scrapped completely to be air travel only! How you blandly accept that two adults, on a long trip with two large suitcases, two carry-on bags can all fit inside a 1.8M by 1.5M cabin is beyond belief. The drop-through toilets identified the carriages as 1960's vintage, with the foot-pump water to the hand basin fully described the amenity of the the train. Dinner was served before we had to remove the bags so the conductor could to convert the cabin to bunk beds, after which we repositioned the suitcases. The 50mm thick mattresses and a very rough rail system proved exhausting. For me, the food caused severe diarrhoea, spanning eight days which fully com[pliant dosages of Imodium could not overcome. My wife refused to eat the meatballs and rice so did not become ill. The Nile cruise (3 days) was simply a dash between ports not a leisurely cruise such as on the Danube. The dash from port to port was to make sure the early morning tour schedule, 0430 start, would be on time. With road journey times of more than 4 hours each way the morning tour programme to the likes of Abu Simbel were not accurately described, nor was the amount of money needed to pay for entry to every site. Having to pay a man, just to exit Aswan station, was standard procedure, where we found the basic transaction rate for this was 200 Egyptian Pounds per hand shake. In overall terms the trip was well below what was advertised and expected, by not being accurately described. However, Egypt itself, the people in general, and the sights of this ancient wonder did not disappoint. The main highlight was the climb to the top inside the Great Pyramid. An exhausting climb for those of us in our later years however, it seemed pointless to go all that way without doing the climb. Travellers should avoid the train, travel Oct-Nov, drink only bottled water, talk to the locals as they are a fun people. While Tour Radar need to present the full picture, that picture would deter travellers.Show more

We will add this request directly to your reservation to arrange French-speaking guides for the excursions and visits planned. The supplement for the French-speaking guide service is 100 € per person for the entire trip.

  What happens if the outbound flight is delayed by more than 24 hours and we cannot arrive on Day 1? Can we reschedule our tour? If the flight is cancelled by the airline, can we reschedule our tour to other dates since it will have been paid?

  If your international flight is delayed by more than 24 hours and you cannot be present on Day 1, we will do our best to adapt the program to your new arrival time. However, this will depend on availability and conditions of hotels, the cruise, transport, guides and other booked services. A delay or modification of an international flight booked separately is not our responsibility. Any additional costs resulting from the program modification will be the responsibility of the travelers. If your flight is cancelled by the airline, we can also study the possibility of postponing your tour to new dates. However, payment of the tour does not automatically guarantee free postponement, as some services may be non-refundable or subject to modification fees. We recommend that you take out travel insurance covering delays and cancellations of international flights. In all cases, we will do our best to help you and find the best possible solution according to circumstances and availability.
