What stood out to me the most was the incredible hospitality. I was truly overwhelmed by the kindness of each and every person I encountered—from the tour guides to the drivers, the hotel staff, and everyone in between. Everyone showed me the utmost kindness and made me feel welcomed and comfortable throughout the entire trip.
As my first solo travel experience, this trip was nothing short of amazing and breathtaking. I felt supported, safe, and genuinely cared for the entire time.
I would highly recommend this tour to anyone and would absolutely travel with this company again

The post is misleading to the point of fraud - no hot air balloon, no Nile cruise. Sunset activity turned into 1 night.
They don't operate the tour - they subcontract to other companies that hire their own tour guides and bus drivers, book places, etc.
7 days was really 2.5 days of activities and the rest was logistics. You still paid for all the expensive things in Cairo, they only covered some cheap meals and cheap attractions.
The 7-day tour was closer to:
Day 1 - airport pickup
Day 2 - guided tour - hotel breakfast, free buffet lunch (pay for your own drinks), 3 hours at the pyramids, 1 hour at the museum, and two "shopping destinations" - you pay for your own tickets, no dinner
Day 3 - bus ride to Siwa & dinner
Day 4 - see the three ruins sites in Siwa (cost less than $5 per person) & desert SUV ride, cold breakfast, decent lunch, decent dinner.
Day 5 - half day - free swim in hot spring and salt lakes. Same lunch and same dinner.
Day 6 - bus back to Cairo
Day 7 - bus to airport.
The place was less than $75 a night if you booked yourself, and for them to upgrade to a 5-star hotel - upcharge $150 a night per person - $3,000 for two people. So double the cost of the tour.
Every time would have cost 40-50% less if you booked yourself.
You're paying TourRadar to pay this company to pay another company to book everything and the tour guides.
Do it yourself or find tours when you get there - it's cheaper.

Hotel details were shared only at the last minute, and the accommodation did not match the promises. What was described as a 5-star experience was closer to a 3-star experience, including the cruise. Paying 80 USD for a very basic hotel was disappointing.
During the Nile cruise, the experience became increasingly frustrating. When I initially contacted the agency, I was told a private guide would not be necessary and that the guide could assist with photos; however, the group turned out to be very large, which limited the amount of personal attention. When I requested a private guide again, I did not receive any response. Although we were compensated financially, we missed key sites such as the Unfinished Obelisk, High Dam, and Nubian Village, and missed experiences that can’t really be replaced.
There was also poor coordination for the final Cairo hotel drop-off. My fellow traveller from another agency had to contact them on my behalf to confirm my pickup. I do want to mention that our guide, Mohammed Mustafa, genuinely tried his best to help, but many things were beyond his control.
The long 6-hour round trip to Abu Simbel was uncomfortable due to poor and uncomfortable transportation, and we only had about 45 minutes at the site, which felt rushed.
Overall, the trip was stressful rather than enjoyable, and the organisation needs improvement.

My father hadn’t been outside the country in over 30 years, and this was his very first time traveling somewhere where he didn’t share a common language. As a worried child, I wanted to make sure he was safe, comfortable, and always aware of what was going on during his trip.
This tour company went above and beyond to make that happen. From start to finish, they were incredibly professional, attentive, and genuinely caring. They not only ensured my dad felt safe and informed every step of the way, but they also kept me in the loop, which gave me so much peace of mind.
What truly impressed me was how well they coordinated with their local partners — everyone involved treated my father with kindness and respect. They even made sure someone on the tour spoke the same language as him, which made a huge difference in his experience.
I’m deeply grateful for how well they took care of him, and I’ve already recommended this company to all my friends and family. Without a doubt, I’ll be booking future trips with them very soon.
Well designed tour! Key points in Cairo are covered in one day, then spend peaceful time in Siwa. Very knowledgeable and friendly guides gave me perfect flexible and nice stays.

Prior to booking we got good recommendations and prompt answers to our questions on what to potentially upgrade and which additional excursions to book. All the arrangements from hotels, domestic flight, Nile cruise, guides and transfers were excellent. Communication during our stay was easy through WhatsApp, and Eyad texted me throughout the stay to let me know exact pick up times and meeting points with the guides and to check that we were doing well. All the guides we had were very knowledgeable and pleasant! We learnt so much, and all the arrangements were well organised with good drivers and good quality vans. The cruise boat was really nice. We had two cabins close to each other, the interior of the boat was nice, and the food was really good and varied. We had also included hot air balloon in Luxor, the visit to Abu Simbel and the visit to the Nubian village. All very good. The visit to the Nubian village is a must, because the scenary along the Nile is so worth it! We can highly recommend this trip and Itaca Holiday. The booking through TourRadar was also very convenient. We normally do a lot of booking ourselves, but this trip is more complicated to organise and we were really happy that we trusted Itaca Holiday to organise our Egypt adventure! It was beyond our expectations! Thanks to all!

Tour was really well organised, we saw so many amazing sites and the guides that Itaca organised were excellent. Eyad and Mahmoud from Itaca tours were very prompt and available online for any questions. We had a few minor problems, but Eyad and Mahmoud were available and resolved these promptly and professionally. Hotels and restaurants chosen were all very good. Note that the tour doesn't include entry fees for temples/museums/camels, we needed about USD100 per adult, but entry fees could all be made by card/online. Book Edfu temple tickets online in advance if you can, as it is an early start. Abu Simbel Temple is amazing, worth the early start and long journey!! Would definitely recommend the tour and Itaca tours, it was all amazing!

Abu Simbel temples visit (Temple of Ramesses II and Temple of Queen Nefertari)'.
Reason: I waited for the prearranged time and location but no one turned up and I did not knew the new guide 'Peter' number. After long wait and gave up. Informed the ship reception where I can be found if someone asks.
I found out late evening that Peter was collecting people from the airport and the flight was delayed. I was given the option starting next day at 4am (~7hr with 1 hour to check the place) but had to miss another event. Both these two days were very important to me so I decided not to start at 4am.
It would have been nice to inform me the reason for the delay. I started to think I was in wrong location or got the timing wrong and the group has left without me.
I had to end up paying for all the entrance fee. I assumed this was included. This should be clearly defined.

The drive from Luxor to Hurghada was miserably long (7h) due to some misunderstandings.
The hotel in Luxor and the 4-day boat trip on the Nile were TOP!
The hotel in Cairo had a beautiful garden but was already a bit outdated and not really 5 star worthy anymore. It was far from everything and there was limited hot water. The pool was closed due to Ramadan.
The hotel in Hurghada was grand and had a huge buffet. It was also a bit outdated and it was a pity that we were not right by the sea and it was far from the center.
In winter maybe it is not necessary to start so early for the temples because it is still cold?

We don’t have to use it at all, made us stay at boarder longer time for nothing, like we did bad things there. We paid a big tip ( at airport and he should get multi entry visa for us) he asked us go get our luggage’s, he was dealing the visa for us. This is the only thing we absolutely don’t like. The Jordan driver was very kind and nice guy. The rest guides is Egypt were all good.

The logistics aspect (planes, pickup times. hotels) were generally good, but unexpected changes to the itinerary kept us guessing. We were told what the next day's agenda would be the previous night. To specify, the museum visited in Cairo was not the new GEM but the older downtown museum.

If you want to see the major highlights of Egypt in a short amount of time and don’t mind a busy schedule, this tour is a great choice.

However it does so in a way that for us was way too rushed and inefficient to enjoy. Great if you want to check a list of places. Not good if you want to enjoy them. Some travelers might enjoy this more than others (especially if you're just there to say you have been there), but for us it was ultimately disappointing (overcrowded sites, so many people trying to get money from you in any sort of way without giving a real good service, consumeristic experience). These considerations might not be unique to this tour, but to the customs of Egypt.
The good:
- All of the listed activities were done, except the air balloon due to weather (even though it was clear with little wind, so not really sure what the problem was)
- Hotel, cruise, flights and overall services were fine
- We were able to customize the schedule of a couple day to fit more things (GEM, some mosques in Cairo)
- A couple guides in particular stood out for being very passionate about ancient Egyptian history and very available and fun
- We really enjoyed the wild and quiet vibes of the white desert, probably one of the highlights of the trips, with the day at the pyramids and the gorgeous Grand Egyptian Museum
The not so good:
- No information ahead of time. Would have helped with expectations and maybe changing a few things to customize the trip, which should be included given the price quite high compared to local economy
- Hotel in Cairo was very far from downtown in the middle of an amusement park. We would have appreciated spending a few days close to downtown in a more authentic place
- The tour is too packed. For one reason or another you end up spending very little time at sites, especially with the cruise, when floods of people invade temples all at the same time, so you see very little. And the entry tickets are expensive. Over 200€, just to see them superficially. It's great the tour wants to cover everything, but in my opinion it doesn't create a good experience, and overall you end up feeling like a cash cow. Some guides suggested targeting April or May, not the high season...
- The cruise is extremely inefficient. The excursion to Abu Simbel was some 8hrs round-trip in the minivan, 1hr to explore it, while overcrowded (all bushes arrive at the same time and leave at the same time - nonsense). The second day we had to rush out of the Edfu temple, just to spend over 4hrs in the middle of nowhere, waiting in line to pass the locks, meaning we didn't have time to explore Luxor before the light show (which is a separate ticket to pay BTW), and that made the day after extremely packed. This problems affects all the ships transiting, so it's not unique to this tour, but should be accounted for in the itinerary.
- Every guide will fit into the already packed schedule a visit to one of the shops to influence you to buy something expensive, so they get commissions. I understand this isn't unusual in the tourist world, but with so little time available this feels like a steal of our own time, and also the shops can be very pushy on you buying something, which is not a good experience. You can say no, but they sell you the experience as something special, while it's just a shop of papyrus, parfumes, stones, etc.
- There is an overall lack of clarity from the guides about the daily schedule. It does not provide the right expectations. Almost every day we had every early pickups to allow visiting the sites. Some of them made sense (the ones in Cairo, and we asked for them to be at 7AM), some other were just pointless (during the cruise and flights, like 4-5AM). We really felt things should have been made clearer for us, to allow choosing between trying to see the entire checklist and enjoying little of it, or perhaps prioritizing unique places to enjoy more extensively, leaving others as best effort only
- The overall price doesn't feel competitive for the local cost. It would be different if entry tickets were included. But at the end of the day you spend a lot to be in a non authentic hotel far from everything, and on an inefficient cruise that is mainly a waste of time. It was great to have private driver and guide for the 4 days in Cairo, but they had a schedule to follow and we feel we should have owned it more for the price we paid.

Itaca Tour organized our whole tour perfectly and was very responsive to changes, for example when there was a delay between the last stop of the cruise and the flight back to Cairo - they organized a hotel for us to rest a couple hours before flying back. Our tour guides Emad and Kareem were very knowledgeable. Kareem is an Egytologist and we were lucky to have a private tour with him to the Giza pyramids and the Grand Egyptian Museum where he lost his voice explaining us so many things about ancient Egypt. We had a lot of fun and wished we could have extended the time - we highly recommend Kareem as guide! The only downside of the tour was that we saw two sites (Luxor temple and Kom Ombo Temple) in the dark because of the schedule of the cruise. I wished we knew this before because I would have preferred to visit those sites during the day. This is nothing that Itaca could have managed, but I might have researched a four-day cruise with more time in between to visit more sites during daylight.
One more suggestion to Itaca: give recommendations to participants what to do in the evenings. We spent most evenings in our hotel room, but would have also liked to get some recommendations on evenings activities (e.g. restaurants, concerts, etc.) to also fill the evening hours in Kairo.
Very disorganized. Guide was so quiet that people wandered off because they couldn't hear. Then he tried to find them. He also spoke to the walls rather than to the group.

We had no information about our return from luxor until 10 hours before departure. Then we were told we were changed from the train to the plane. Had to repack and throw away a bunch of water we bought because couldn't bring 5 liters on the plane. Because tickets were not included we spent lots and lots of time waiting in lines for purchasing entry tickets.
The brochure said 0-10 people. We had 12. It was too many for this tour guide. He told us that we must pay a very large tip to the cruise ship. He called us all together and then like a beggar collected the money which he counted out loud in front of everyone. One lady refused to give him so much. He totally embarrassed her in front of everyone but she didn't agree with him. He doesn't understand tip is voluntary. Charge is mandatory.
Itinerary was good but poor information. Didn't know what hotel we were staying at until we arrived at the hotel so couldn't tell our friends where to meet us to visit with them.

Hotels where clean and comfortable, not luxury, but very good.
Most of the vehicles where in great condition and the drivers where the best.
Perhaps the only inconvenience is that entrance fees to the different sites were not included. While other groups were speeding and getting into the sited because they already had tickets, we were waiting in line (mostly short lines) to buy tickets. It would have been better if they increase the price to cover the cost of entrance tickets in order to avoid having to buy tickets at every stop.
Will definitely use their services next time we visit Egypt.

The Itaca team did everything to make this a flawless experience. They tailored the trip to my exact specifications adding and deleting activities according to my liking. Communication was excellent. Guides fantastic! I feel like I have lifelong friends in Maha ( Cairo) and Abdalla (Aswan/Luxor). Cruise was far better than I had anticipated based on the excellent pricing. Yes, the pricing listed is for bare bones tour, but you can add upgrades however you like. I upgraded some hotels for nights I wanted to relax and acclimate, but for days I had an early start ( like 4 AM) a fancy hotel upgrade was not necessary. I totally trusted Mahmoud for suggestions and guidance and he did not disappoint. Every detail worked out perfectly just as he had promised. I was a little nervous using a Gold rated company rather than Platinum and price seemed too good to be true. But I am so happy I used them ! I cannot imagine a trip that could be any better. Let me just say that the optional trip to Nubian Village is a must do. Not so much for the village, but the tranquil boat ride up the Nile to get to the village was a highlight ( amongst many highlights) of my trip. The cruise La Fayan was perfection- great good, service, rooms, etc. I will use them again! I upgraded to flights and hotels to Aswan and back to Cairo because sleeper train is not for me.
One thing I will say is that the amount needed for tipping is far greater than anticipated. This is not a reflection on Itaca, but all tours. I have seen companies collect like $200 per person for tipping pool at the end of a tour so I was expecting around that number, but I spent closer to $500 in tips. I mention this because it is something I would have liked to know beforehand for planning purposes. Again, this would be with any tour not just Itaca. It does speak to the excellent services I received though and I wanted to acknowledge all those who worked hard to make this a dream come true. I will book through them on my next visit to Egypt!

Understanding the guides was often difficult in spite of their efforts with English. Extremely early starts of the tours, particularly on the cruise, made it so it was necessary to go to bed directly after dinner. Repeated days of early mornings resulted in exhaustion. We understand the purpose of the early mornings but would have liked to know in advance of the tour in order to know what to expect. Both of our guides were knowledgeable and friendly and helpful. Communications with our guides via WhatsApp was excellent. All logistical details worked with the exception of our flight from Cairo to Aswan…. we were the last to board because the flight left over an hour earlier than our ticket indicated. The light show at Luxor was suppose to be included but we were told by the guide it was an additional charge. We never were taken to the bazaar in Cairo although I believe it was part of the itinerary.
Excellent guide and knowledgeable

The only "bad" thing is that on the day that we were flying to Egypt, they told us that the planning was going to be changed. Instead of doing Cairo-Aswan-Luxor we did Cairo-Luxor-Aswan, it wasn't that big of a deal but I wished they would have told us sooner so we could plan taking that in mind.
Another thing is DO NOT BUY in the places where your tour guides take you. They are very kind but they obviously want to earn money and WILL scam you. Specially for the Alabaster factory, the cammels, etc. However they never force you to buy anything, they only show it to you.
These are the thing why I wouldn't give this tour 5 stars. The rest of the things were amaizing. We were in contact with Ithaca through all the trip, they solved our problem and were also very flexible. Some people say that the cruise was old, I think is good enough for the money you pay. All the transports between the cruise/hotels and temples/tourist attraction is private, and the tour guides too, which makes it more personalised.
Overall I would recomend anyone to take this experience. In our case we were two female university students and we felt safe when we were with the tour.

He introduced us and said he will guide us through the process, so we're asked to get currency exchanged to first take care of his tip and for others. We had enough cash to tip him in US dollars. If this is his training we did not want his guidance. He asked us to give him our passports as we need evisa. Apparently, he should have been aware that we are visiting for a few days and don't need evisa. Finally, imegration guy confirmed it and we moved on. I was so glad when he left us with our driver. I didn't want to see this guide again. Unfortunately, on our flight out of Jordan, Axis sent the same guide with a kind gift gesture. I told the guide to leave us before we got in line for the check in counter. When going thru security the gift bag had some face mask. Because this is in fluid form, no liquids are allowed and had to be trashed.
Hopefully, Axis takes all the above comments to heart so future customers can have a better experience.

Organization: 4 stars: you have to be flexible. In fact, the trip didn't go according to plan, and some of Itaca's choices meant that we had to catch planes at times that put us to bed late (2am) only to get up at 6am! Nevertheless, I suppose this was dictated by our choice of good-quality, low-cost hotels. Communication via WhatsApp made for efficient organization. I recommend taking a SIM for data (between €10 and €15).
Guides: we had everything from excellent to mediocre. We had Sue Helen who was marvellous, with impeccable French, clear explanations and a great knowledge of her country and its history. We were able to ask all our questions, which were answered. What's more, she took very good care of our well-being. In short, it was perfect. As for the others, some shone through their kindness or their humor, but their French was approximate and I wonder about their knowledge for some ... so there rather 2 stars (except Sue Helen 5 stars).
The hotels: 4-star Egyptian, so nothing to complain about in terms of service. I had asked for a one-night upgrade to a 5-star. It didn't happen, but Itaca refunded the money immediately. So 5 stars.
The cruise: between 3 and 4 stars: great boat, friendly, welcoming staff. The big drawback was that the lock crossing to get to Luxor was poorly planned, so we lost our planned late-afternoon visit and had to do it the next day, so we had to run at a snail's pace!
All in all, we have excellent memories of this trip, which was very competitive in terms of value for money, and we have no regrets.
However, if you're looking for something a little more upmarket, you'll have to pass.

The organization is not responsible for the mass tourism and the sometimes very bad air in Egypt. We would have preferred to upgrade the hotels in Egypt to 5 stars. The crossing to Jordan was unfortunately catastrophic. We left the ship in Luxor at 8 a.m., then a program in Luxor, a hotel room in the afternoon that did not deserve the name, flight at 0.20 a.m. (planned 10 p.m.) to Cairo and 6 a.m. to Amman. Then a program to Wadi Rum. In the end, we had no sleep for 40 hours. Jordan impressed us with its beauty and cleanliness. The complete contrast to Egypt. All in all, we experienced a lot in 10 days, met nice people and enjoyed a lot of culture, albeit at a proud total travel price.
