  The Trip was full of history and the team was large and helpfull, always one text away if we had questions. Special mention to our first guide Marwa in the pyramids and museum, she really was funny, full of informations and beyond all expectations! Our Nile cruise guide Peter was really nice too and good in the delivery in all places. I really recommend this trip and expecially the Alexandria day, informations and history different from the other days and we requested to go to the library ans the guide agreed we really were excited!Show more

  This is by no means a luxery tour. All tour guides are free lance egyptoligists. The tours are ok and will take you tobthe various sites. I find that your experience is a hit and miss as all tours follow the same basic route. This tour was a seat of the pants type which means its a planned confusion of experiences. The tour company should have done a much better job of making sure all tourists were amply provided with scheduled on time meals and rest breakes. The accomadations ( hotels ) were a good location but were not 4 start at best for one to two stars. so i feel the money spent should have been a luxery four star experience. I also feel no matter what you pay you get the same tour experience.Show more

  ⭐️ 1/5 – Extremely disappointing and unsafe experience Our experience with Itaca Travel in Egypt was unacceptable. We were supposed to be picked up at 3:00 AM for our flight, but the driver never showed up. We waited until 3:30 AM with no communication whatsoever. To avoid missing our flight, we had no choice but to order an Uber, meaning we had to travel alone as two girls for nearly a 1-hour ride in the middle of the night, which felt extremely unsafe. What made this worse was the complete lack of communication from Itaca for almost 2 hours. When someone finally responded, it was a rude and dismissive message, saying it was a “human mistake,” that we should have waited indefinitely, and that we were somehow ungrateful, completely unprofessional and inappropriate. We were promised a refund of $100 plus $25 for the Uber, but this promise was not honored. Instead, they refunded only $75, with no proper explanation. This is not a reliable or responsible tour company, especially for women traveling on their own. Safety, communication, and accountability were all handled terribly. I would strongly advise others, particularly female travelers to think twice before booking with Itaca.Show more

In the event of a missed pickup or delay, our responsibility would have been to **rebook the flight and arrange an alternative transfer at our cost**. This is standard procedure. Instead, the decision was made independently to take an Uber to the airport without allowing time for us to resolve the situation operationally. Despite this, we still took responsibility: * We **refunded the agreed amount through TourRadar**, which processes refunds strictly according to their payment system and timelines. * We provided **complimentary experiences during the trip**, including the Nubian Village visit. * We also arranged a **complimentary dinner in Cairo** as an apology gesture. * The remainder of the tour was delivered as planned, with all services provided accordingly. Regarding the refund amount, all refunds are processed via **TourRadar’s official payment channel**, not directly by us, and timing or partial posting can depend on their system and bank processing periods. The refund was initiated in full from our side. We sincerely regret the initial inconvenience and acknowledge that the pickup error should not have happened. However, we also believe it is important to present the **full context**, including the corrective actions taken and the overall delivery of the tour, which were not reflected in this review.   As Australians, it took a long time to find a small tour to explore Egypt. We ended up booking Itaca through tour radar and we were not disappointed. You definitely need a guide in Egypt. Expect to see touts at the incredible sites. Ignore them and you will be fine. We were picked up and saw everything as per itinerary. We had some time on our own with a guide and driver and then with 4 other lovely people. The accommodation was great. Big clean rooms. The hotel staff were very welcoming and always offered a welcome juice drink. The cruise was excellent. We loved the food and you could get access to alcohol on the cruise. The views were beautiful from the boat. Be ready to get up early most days but it will be worth it to see everything at the best times. The tour contacts let you know the day before about timing of flights etc… don’t let this worry you as they always turn up on time. You will also we provided with an eSIM which lasted the 9 days for us. As Australia’s we had to get used to tipping. Research tipping recommendations before you arrive. The driving in Egypt is very different. They drive fast but we had no issues. The tour was excellent value. We loved only being with 4 others or on our own with guides. Egypt is a very interesting country. The sites are unbelievable. I wrote this review as we spent months. looking and wanted to help clarify what to expect. Happy travels.Show more

Itaca Tour organized our whole tour perfectly and was very responsive to changes, for example when there was a delay between the last stop of the cruise and the flight back to Cairo - they organized a hotel for us to rest a couple hours before flying back. Our tour guides Emad and Kareem were very knowledgeable. Kareem is an Egytologist and we were lucky to have a private tour with him to the Giza pyramids and the Grand Egyptian Museum where he lost his voice explaining us so many things about ancient Egypt. We had a lot of fun and wished we could have extended the time - we highly recommend Kareem as guide! The only downside of the tour was that we saw two sites (Luxor temple and Kom Ombo Temple) in the dark because of the schedule of the cruise. I wished we knew this before because I would have preferred to visit those sites during the day. This is nothing that Itaca could have managed, but I might have researched a four-day cruise with more time in between to visit more sites during daylight. One more suggestion to Itaca: give recommendations to participants what to do in the evenings. We spent most evenings in our hotel room, but would have also liked to get some recommendations on evenings activities (e.g. restaurants, concerts, etc.) to also fill the evening hours in Kairo.Show more
