  The overall itinerary was good but one place we really hoped to see, Abu Simbel, was canceled at the last minute. Otherwise a good selection of Egyptian sites was provided. Guides were generally very good, although 1 guide did not have a good grasp of English and did not often accompany us at the sites to provide more explanation. Communication with the operators was at times inadequate. Changes were made without prior discussion with us. Pre-trip communications were slow in coming regarding questions we had and a request for individual beds was not heeded at the start of our tour, causing frustration. This resulted in a move to an unsatisfactory, noisy room elsewhere. The Nile Cruise was very good with lovely accommodation and service. The White Desert experience was memorable with breathtaking vistas. A very worthwhile experience. Shout out to guide Sarah in Giza! Very knowledgeable!Show more

  Over all, the trip went very well, apart from one issue as we were checking in for the flight to Aswan and my husband did not have a ticket. However, our tour guide fortunately sorted it out. Our guides were all helpful and knowledgeable. The Serenity Resort in Hurgada and Signature cruise ship were excellent, with a variety of tasty food and very professional staff. Hotel Pyramid Spiritual Gate in Giza had issues with hot water and unsecured safes. However, the staff were very helpful and the food was good. We missed the balloon flight due to weather and hope to be offered a refund soon. I talked to Itaca in Giza and they assured me it would be sent. The White Desert camping experience was an amazing adventure, but as seniors, it would have been more comfortable in a cheap hotel. But the White Desert is one of the most incredible landscapes I've ever seen. We loved all the historical monuments and found the Egyptian people to be very friendly and pleasant. I would happily recommend Itaca as they provided a seamless journey from our arrival in Cairo airport to our departure, with punctual transport and guides at every location. Thanks to all the staff who made our holiday a memorable event.Show more

  We really enjoyed this trip as it has shown absolutely different facets of the country with amazing history. Now, to the detailed points. Overall organization: Excellent. All connections and pickups were in time and working. However, I would appreciate a bit more proactive attitude from the company about itinerary for the following day. Practically, every day I needed to ask Nour (our contact) to provide me with a plan. He was kind and responsive within minutes but I would prefer to get next day plans without asking. Guides quality. That is a bit tricky. We had 3 different guides. The lady for pyramids, GEM and Alexandria was really caring and reliable but she had quite shallow knowledge about Egyptian history. It was dramatically revealed during the trip to Alexandria when she began to invent stories on the fly. Absolutely make-up story about Rosetta Stone, German soldiers in catacombs, Pompey's Pillar and the ancient Serapeum. That incident makes me doubt previous visits to pyramids and GEM as how I can be sure that what she told us there was true. So, that was a bit disappointing as just consulting with Wikipedia would make Alexandria trip much more exciting. The guide for Saqqara pyramids- Sharif - was much better and thinking back we were lucky that the first lady guide could not spend this day with us. Sharif was much more knowledgeable, active and communicative. We really had enjoyed that day. Thank you, Sharif! We have spent 4 days (mostly Nile cruise and temples visits) with the next guide Ahmet. He was managing quite big group - 19 people - and he did it well. Very helpful and knowledgeable, giving good advice about plans and tips. The only fly in the ointment is that I would prefer a bit more in depth explanations about the marvels of architecture that we have seen (Philae, Kom Ombo, Karnak, Luxor and Habu temples, Hatshepsut and Valley of the Kings tombs). Nile cruise. The ship was comfortable and the food was good. However, alcohol drinks were very expensive but this is not the fault of travel company. We enjoyed very much the Nubian village boat trip as well - very relaxing and nice. Hotels. In Cairo we stayed in Locanda Museum hotel. It was 3-star hotel with limited menu for breakfast. It had good view on pyramids from the roof. Staff was friendly and attentive. In Luxor we stayed for 1 night in Opal Legacy Luxor boutique hotel. It was relaxing, nice green space. Rooms and staff were perfect. Food was good. In Hurghada we stayed in Serenity Fun City hotel for 2 nights. It is 5-star hotel with perfect service, amazing meals in all-inclusive deal. The only small hiccups were that WiFi did not work and there were no good water entrance from the beach - sharp stones and coral (with forbidden entrance zone). However, you can go swimming and snorkelling from the pier. White and Black desert trip. We had only a Bedouin driver Mohamed who had quite limited English vocabulary, so communication was not easy apart from simple and touristic themes. But he was kind and generous - made enough stops in all interesting places, prepared amazing dinner with soup, grilled chicken, rice and vegetables. The night in White desert was marvelous - such a beautiful starry sky without light pollution. The jeep itself was 30-years old machine with some engine problems - kind of engine knocking/detonation. Mohamed tried to fix the issue himself or with some friends during the stops. However, after the night in desert the car could not start in the morning. After about 2.5 hours we were transferred to another car and were not too late for another journey leg from Bahariya oasis to Cairo. In conclusion, "Sacred Egypt tour: 14 Day luxury" is very good. We have enjoyed every day of our journey despite very small hiccups. Highly recommended.Show more

  My friend and I found our 14-day Egypt tour with Ithaca Tours disappointing. 1. Poor planning The itinerary was changed on day one, causing unnecessary back-and-forth travel from Cairo and costing us sightseeing time. Flights were frequently scheduled for 6:00 a.m., requiring 2:00 a.m. wake-ups, with tours often starting before 5:00 a.m, meaning 4:00am alarms. On several days, included lunches were not reached until around 3:00 p.m., leaving us hungry or reliant on convenience-store snacks. 2. Substandard accommodation Although the itinerary promised a minimum of 4-star accommodation, our Cairo hotels and Nile cruise were closer to 2-3 star standard. Our final night at Pyramids Spiritual Gate was particularly poor: a small, dirty, noisy, and cold room, with insufficient blankets. We booked separate beds but were required to share at two hotels. Most breakfasts were also well below 4-star standard. 3. Poor communication Daily plans, transport, and accommodation details were rarely communicated in advance. We often had to chase information, and when it was finally provided, it was too late to question. Some drivers were unfamiliar with routes; on one occasion, a driver went the wrong way for over an hour, turning a three-hour journey into four. 4. Forced tipping Despite accommodation and transport being included, guides tipped hotels and drivers on our behalf without consent and then required us to reimburse them. Overall Having previously toured Turkey and South America, this was the worst tour experience I have had.Show more

  We had a great and memorable experience. Communication experience with the tour company was excellent. Some people we got to know on the tour didn’t have good experience with communication. Their itineraries changed last minute. Our hotel at Cairo had a good view of the pyramids from the rooftop. The all-inclusive resort in Hurghada was excellent. The Nile cruise ship was disappointing. It was old and cleanliness was an issue. The hotel in Luxor was presented nicely in the lobby but the room that we were in was old. The White Desert tour and camping was a memorable experience. The tour guides are very nice but some are very hard to understand.Show more

Our guide Ahmed was incredibly knowledgeable, engaging, and went above and beyond to make sure everyone had a fantastic time. Every stop was packed with breathtaking sights, hidden gems, and cultural insights we would have completely missed on my own. Transportation was smooth and comfortable. This tour exceeded all expectations and left us with lifelong memories. If you're even remotely considering it — just book it. You won't regret it!Show more

  We had the best time during our vacations, and we really recommend this tour! We had a bit of everything: History, adventure, relaxation… Guides/drivers
 We had the best guides during the cruise time! A big Shoutout to Peter and Youseff! They were super knowledgeable about history, answered all our questions, made the temple visits quite engaging and entertaining and gave us time to explore on our own.
The guide in cairo was not the best, but we managed. All our drivers were great, but we want to have a special thanks to the ones that took us to the desert! We had a flat tire and while they tried to solve it, they gave us some boards to go down the dunes and get ourselves entertained while they were fixing the issue. They were also amazing cooks! The dinner we ate at the desert was one of the best we had there!
 
Hotels
 We stayed at the King Pyramid View, Aracan Eatabe and Sunrise Alma Bay, and they were all great! The people at King Pyramid were super nice, they allowed us to check-in quite early has we arrived in the morning to cairo. The Sunrise Alma Bay also allowed us to stay until late, as our flight was in the night, so we managed to enjoy the day at the beach.

The cruise we had was the Nile story and it was quite good and comfortable! The food was tasty and diverse, the views from the cruise were amazing!

The desert trip was one of the highlights of this tour! We had a lot of fun, saw amazing views and had the best time! We slept in tents that were set up for us. Less positive points: 
We had some hiccups, like the lunch from the day we were getting back from the desert was not planned for some reason, and after some arguing from a girl who was with us, they agreed to stop at a place and improvised a meal. It was good. The guide in cairo was not the best and we felt rushed most of the time. The information she gave was always the same, and we were sometimes listening to other guides giving way more detailed explanation to the other tours. Personally I prefer to have all the information on my side about flights, hotels and plans, but we just went with the flow and trusted everything would work out, and it did. So this is probably a cultural difference than anything else, but just trust the process. Overall we truly recommend this tour! We had the best time and were one of the best vacations we had.Show more
