The tour gave a good taste of the main sights in Egypt. It is a heavy calendar and expect to be busy and not get a lot of down time. Remember that Egypt is currently filled with tourists so be patient with some delays Our guide Tamer was excellent helping with so many issues and requests and deserves 5 stars. Kind and lovely gentleman who was extremely knowledgeable and patient. Many American tourists are very difficult, argumentative and complain about any bump in the road and try to manage how things are going to be done. (I’m American). Enjoy the differences of the country you are in—be a traveler not a tourist. If you want American food and culture—stay in the USA. There were other nationalities in the group that wanted to be in control and continually interrupted while Tamer was explaining what the schedule was delaying Tamer ability to manage the narrative. For instance, Tamer would say you have an hour stop to take a shower and meet back at the bus. Then the person would say no I need 1 and a half hours to take a shower, etc. trying to set the schedule and run the show. This led to many issues with people not hearing the whole program and then asking continuing questions about what Tamer had said. Try wrangling a group of 40 or so tourists to be places on time and see how it feels. Our visit to the Grand Egyptian Museum was extraordinary and the Egyptologist was extremely well educated .People were upset that there were so many people there and we had to move quickly (because of the large crowds. Guide patiently explained that there were 6 floors of exhibition and we would concentrate on 1 main item on each floor. Of course people had not understood this and were upset that they didn’t get much time in the largest new museum in the world.

The tour of Cleopatra – Egypt was an amazing experience. We visited at the perfect time—late November—and the museums of Cairo and, of course, the pyramids were absolutely incredible. The only nightmare was the train from Cairo to Aswan. It felt like something out of a zombie world. They call it a “sleeping train,” but it was dirty, stained, dusty, and the restroom was awful. Definitely not the experience we expected. On the brighter side, our tour guide Tamer Mahmoud for Aswan and Luxor was wonderful—patient, kind, and professional, even with passengers who complained constantly. He handled everything calmly and made the trip so much better. We also really appreciated that the tour leader did us a huge favor by arranging a flight back to Cairo and a hotel for only $110. They clearly understood how bad the train experience was, and their help made the end of our trip much more comfortable. Overall, I highly recommend this tour except for the night train. Avoid the “train of hell,” if you can!

We had a great overall experience on the tour, and Tamer was an excellent tour leader—organized, knowledgeable, and very supportive throughout the trip. The main issue we faced was that some group members who chose not to join the optional tours caused unnecessary trouble. They complained about the timing, questioned why they had to wait, and spent a lot of time nagging the rest of us, which affected the group’s harmony. Another downside was the sleeper train. Unfortunately, it was quite disappointing—dirty and far below expectations. Aside from these issues, the tour itself was wonderful, and we truly appreciated Tamer’s leadership.

Sure! Here’s the revised review with your name included: --- ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I recently enjoyed a fantastic 7-day Queen Cleopatra vacation, and I can't recommend it highly enough! The experience was truly unforgettable, especially as I celebrated my 50th birthday on this amazing journey. Hossam Rashwan, our guide, was exceptionally professional and knowledgeable, enriching our experience with fascinating insights about the history and culture of Egypt. What truly stood out was the genuine care he showed towards my autistic adult son. He went above and beyond to ensure that my son felt comfortable and included, which made this trip even more special. Every detail, from the stunning sights to the attentive service, contributed to a memorable adventure that we will cherish forever. Thank you to the entire team for making this a remarkable celebration of life, history, and family! Quincy Steele ---

The tour in general fulfilled its function, to visit the places in the itinerary. The first day in Cairo we were guided by Sohila, an excellent guide, everything was very well explained. The only thing I didn't like was the restaurant where they took us to eat. The food was the same for everyone, only 3 options: meat, chicken or fish. The hotel helnan, is not in Cairo, it is in October 6th almost 50 minutes away from the airport, our international flight of more than 18 hours and then having to wait another 50 minutes to get to the hotel makes it more tiring. The ship can improve a lot, the food was good, but it lacks cleanliness and it would be nice if they did not allow smoking, as it smells like cigarettes, I do not recommend it for traveling with children. You lose a whole day on the cruise when you move from Esdu to Luxor, and all the cruises go together so the pollution that you are breathing while you are on the terrace is very bad. The jacuzzi was not working, it gave touches to a passenger who wanted to get in. When we arrived in Luxor where we spent a night inside the ship already docked at the pier it was terrible. We were left in a super dirty place where they remodel the ships. Our guide Ahmed rushed us a lot, we had practically no time to admire the temples, All the tours start at the same time so they are crowded because all the boats arrive at the same time. The Which makes you can not appreciate or enjoy 100%. Overall it was ok but if I had known this information I would have preferred to do the tour on my own and definitely not include the cruise, so I could choose the hotels of my preference. They sell it as 5 star but it is more like 3 star for my point of view.

A good tour - especially at the offer price. Knowledgable and patient guides, good food, tremendous river boat kitted out with marble. We opted for the overnight train on 2 nights, which - together with several very early starts (4am) for sightseeing - requires a fair bit of stamina!

Amazing Trip - once in a lifetime experience. Mohammed was fantastic at organising everything and was always on hand to support and help and guide. The guides were great. The sights were amazing. Pyramids and Sphinx had great timing. The GEM museum is so hug of course you could spend a whole day there but time doesn't allow. I booked this as a solo traveller so I could feel safe and meet others and tour with a group. I was felt welcome and included at all times and well looked after. I did have a few accommodation problems but all were swiftly sorted and meant I actually got better rooms in the future. It would have been nice to not have the initial problems of course but I can't fault the company for sorting them out very swiftly and ensuring things were ok in the end. The food on the cruise was nice and plentiful. The drinks were of a good price. The guides were great at looking after everyone and extremely knowledgable. The communication was great about that and when and it was great to be just simply guided along and not having tithing about much at all. Be prepared for some early mornings as this enables you to ee the sights and keep the tour on track. Wonderful trip and experience - truly thank you - I will be using again

A perfect tour if you have only a week to spare. Wonderful sights, some of them .outstanding. The cruise ship was just right, rooms very clean throughout, the food very good most of the time, albeit a little repetitive. The guides were very knowledgeable and looking after the welfare of everyone in the group. Some room for improvement: I felt that at some sites we were given only limited time to explore ourselves. Especially at the GEM I felt being rushed: our guide led us to selected exhibitions, saying a few words about them, then ushering us to the next. Only at the end were we given free time to explore the Tutankhamun exhibition. I would have preferred a more general overview of the museum at the beginning, then given the opportunity to check out individual exhibits in our own time. Personally I would have gotten more out of it that way. Overall a great journey to get a first impression of the country, jam-packed with plenty of famous locations and a nice relaxing Nile cruise to boot. For those interested in Egypt's history I do recommend to read up on it beforehand, as this will make it easier to follow the guides'explanations later.

    Asked on November 6th, 2025

As a single room paying traveller, for the train sleeper overnight will it also be a single cabin to myself or it is to be shared? And if I were to upgrade to a flight with room, it is a single room to myself for the given amount of $197 right? And you will still provide the transfer from the hotel to airport for the last day departure even though it was an upgrade over the overnighter sleeper train? For the hot air balloon cost of $184, will it be an early morning sunrise ride or will it be a later morning balloon ride?

You will be accommodated in a private single cabin on the overnight sleeper train. Alternatively, if you decide to take the flight upgrade (which is recommended), you will also be accommodated in a private single room throughout the entire tour. The transfer to Cairo Airport on the last day is included, even if you choose the flight upgrade. As for the hot air balloon ride, it's a sunrise experience, offering the best views of Luxor's temples and the Nile Valley.

How does this accommodate 3 people? Do you know if the cabins have ensuite facilities?

    • Holiday In EgyptOperatorWritten October 2025

The overnight sleeper train includes private cabins designed for two people, each with fold-down beds. The train cabins do not have a private bathroom. Each cabin has a small washbasin inside, but the toilets and are shared and located at the end of the carriage. For three travelers, we'll arrange two cabins — one for two people and another single cabin shared nearby. If you prefer, we can also provide an option to upgrade to a domestic flight from Cairo to Aswan for a faster and more relaxing journey.

Can I take flight instead of train trip

    • Holiday In EgyptOperatorWritten October 2025

The flight upgrade option is available on the booking page. Please select your preferred travel date, number of travelers, and room configuration. Then, simply choose both the Cairo to Aswan flight upgrade and the Luxor to Cairo flight upgrade options. These upgrades replace the sleeper trains and include accommodation in Cairo at the same hotel, along with all necessary transfers.

Can we exchange from the Egyptian Museum to the new Grand Egyptian Museum? What Cruise ship and Hotel in Cairo would we be staying on? Are the entrance fees included? Is there a tipping pool?

Grand Egyptian Museum: If it opens on November 4th without delays, we will include the Grand Egyptian Museum in place of the Old Egyptian Museum. In Cairo, your hotel will most likely be Helnan Dreamland (5-star). The Nile cruise is also 5-star, and we'll confirm the ship name closer to your travel date. Entrance Fees: Entrance fees are not including, to be paid upon arrival directly to the tour manager on Day 1. Tipping: The tipping is USD 8 per person per day to be paid upon arrival directly to the tour manager, which covers the drivers and Nile cruise crew. The tour guide's tip is not included and can be given separately at your discretion.

We would pay for the flight option vs the sleeper car, would the Additional Hotel nights be similar to what we have when we are in Cairo? And also, is it possible to request a room away from the engine room?

    • Holiday In EgyptOperatorWritten October 2025

If you choose the flight option, the additional hotel nights will be arranged at a similar standard to your stay in Cairo (Helnan Dreamland). Regarding your room request, we'll do our best to accommodate you with a quiet room away from the engine room.

We are considering staying the first night at the same hotel offered by the tour as from the 13th. Would you come and pick us up on the 12th as part of the tour package already paid for (we would pay for the extra night at the hotel).

    • Holiday In EgyptOperatorWritten October 2025

Yes, of course — you can stay the extra night at the same hotel used for the tour. The extra night will be at Helnan Dreamland Hotel, and we can arrange your airport pickup on the 12th of October as well.

We are looking at the tour departing on the 16th of February 2026 for 7 DAYS, we have a problem with the Flight as the flight arrives in Cairo at 2am on the 16th. Also the flight back from Cairo departs on the 22nd of Feb at 10.10am can you please suggest how we can go about this.

    Accommodation
    Flights / Transfers
    • Holiday In EgyptOperatorWritten October 2025

The proposed flights will require one night of pre-tour accommodation and one night of post-tour accommodation. Both options can easily be added during the booking process. This is not a problem, as these flights will actually give you two full days to enjoy and explore Cairo. We would be happy to arrange guided day tours for you in Cairo, or you may simply choose to relax and enjoy the hotel. Kindly note that we will arrange your pickup and drop-off regardless of your arrival and departure times.

Is it possible to add scuba diving to the front or end of this/alike tour? I am solo female traveller able to travel 20-29 December 2025. Budget £1000.

We recommend enjoying the diving experience before starting the main tour. You could arrive in Sharm El Sheikh or Hurghada on the 20th of December, do the diving there, and then fly from Hurghada to Cairo on the 23rd of December to begin the Cleopatra Tour.

Are you saying that you cannot accommodate/add to the tour to include scuba diving? Or that you do not have any other tours that include scuba?

    • Holiday In EgyptOperatorWritten September 2025

We normally don't offer scuba diving tours, but you can easily book them directly with a diving center. Alternatively, we can arrange direct transportation from Luxor to Hurghada for you on the 27th of December, immediately after the day's activities. From there, you can book hotel accommodation in Hurghada starting on the 27th and enjoy diving beginning on the 28th of December.
