On the last day we arrive at 7am at the train station and then you transfer us to the airport. Is that enough time to get a 10am flight?

You are correct — on the last day, the train arrives at 7:00 AM, and you will be transferred directly to the airport. A 10:00 AM flight will be perfectly fine and allows sufficient time for the transfer and check-in.

We are looking for a 5-day Nile cruise with travel days on either side. We are interested in a private tour for our group of 4 with an experienced Egyptologist, as we have a deep interest in Egyptian history. Does this tour include a knowledgable guide?

We would like to include a visit to Deir el-Medina (the Valley of the Artisans) during our time in Luxor. Is it possible to add this to the standard itinerary?

What is the cancellation policy for this tour, especially considering the current situation in the Middle East?

Egypt's main tourist destinations such as Cairo, Luxor, and Aswan continue to operate as scheduled. Regarding the cancellation policy: • If the traveler cancels more than 21 days before the tour departure, the remaining balance is refundable, while the deposit remains non-refundable. • If the cancellation request is received within 21 days of departure, the booking enters the final operational stage and the tour becomes non-refundable. If the traveler prefers additional flexibility, they may also request a change of travel date, subject to availability and the applicable rate of the selected departure.

Is it safe for a single woman traveling alone? I am 62 years old. I am a vegetarian. Do I need to be picked up and dropped back to the airport? Does the trip cover local flights and food and decent accommodation? Will a guide be with our group all the time?

You will be picked up and dropped back at the airport as part of your tour — this is included. The tour includes comfortable hotels, most meals, and we can accommodate vegetarian preferences. Local flights are not covered but you can upgrade to a flight instead of the sleeper train. A knowledgeable guide will accompany your group throughout the tour to assist and provide insights.

Regarding the entrance fees, we would like to request the student rate as all three of us are under 23 with valid ISIC cards. According to the 2026 Ministry of Tourism regulations, students are entitled to a 50% discount. Based on our itinerary, the official student fee is approximately $55-$60 USD. Could you please check this and adjust the $150 USD quote to a fair student price?

Yes, students under 23 years old with a valid ISIC card are eligible for discounted monument tickets in Egypt. The USD 150 per person that we collect at the start of the tour covers all entrance tickets for the full itinerary, administrative handling of tickets, guide coordination at each site, and time management to avoid ticket queues. If all three travelers hold valid ISIC cards and original passports, we can adjust the entrance portion accordingly based on the official student rates at the time of travel. Student ID must be physical and valid. Passport must be presented at each major site. Some sites may not apply student discount. The estimated student total for this itinerary is generally higher than USD 55–60 due to the number of sites included across Cairo, Aswan and Luxor.

The tour was amazing. Abdulrahman and Anas were our guides in Cairo and during the cruise. They are very prepared, they answered all our questions and they are really funny too. For the accommodations it was even better than what we expected. Rooms were comfortable and clean. The sleeping train was pretty comfortable too. Staff from the hotel, the cruise and the train were always really kind. In the hotel and the cruise even after check out they borrowed us a shower before the sleeping trains. Food was incredible, with all kind of options including vegetarian. We had Egyptian food too and spectacles. The excursions were incredible. The guidance was really well organised, we learned a lot of ancient Egypt. The only part that I think is not really explicit are the tickets and the tips. They are not included. They explained to us why, and actually makes sense. It’s true that it’s also written in the contract. But I do think it would be good to do a friendly reminder BEFORE the tour, instead of just coming once we are there “Hey, coming to collect entrance and tipping from you”. That way we could have established better the entire budget.Show more

It was a really good experience. Everything was really well organized by Holiday in Egipt, good logistics (the driver was always awaiting for us in the tours, airport or train station). The guides are really good, they know a lot about all the things we visit, and as all Egyptians, they're so kind. The hotel and the cruise are really top, they're really 5 stars hotels, with buffet for all meals. The only bad thing is about TourRadar: be careful, in the "not included" section, it's mentioned that entrances and tips are not included, so additionally to the price you pay for the tour, at your arrival in Egipt you'll still have to pay this part (in my case it was 206 USD). I think this practice is kind of dishonest because when reserving and paying, the site NEVER says that this amount is still missing. It should specify, really explicit, that this 200 dollars will have to be paid, but instead you have to read between the lines. Only negative point about the experience (again, it's a negative point for TourRadar, not for the local enterprise Holiday in Egipt).Show more

However, if they would like an even more premium stay, we would be happy to provide options and pricing for luxury hotel upgrades. We would especially recommend that you consider upgrading the overnight sleeper train from Cairo to Aswan to a domestic flight. If all three travelers hold valid ISIC cards and original passports, we can adjust the entrance portion accordingly based on the official student rates at the time of travel. Student ID must be physical and valid. Passport must be presented at each major site. Some sites may not apply student discount. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 65 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
