It was a crazy trip! We have seen it all: the pyramids, the temples, the Valley of the Kings, the Nile Cruise, the Nubian village, and in addition we did a Hot Air balloon ride that was the highlight …It was a crazy trip! We have seen it all: the pyramids, the temples, the Valley of the Kings, the Nile Cruise, the Nubian village, and in addition we did a Hot Air balloon ride that was the highlight of our trip. We have seen the sand storm, the rain and the sun! Everyone was friendly and accommodating. The only suggestion we have is for the tour organisers to have the detailed itinerary being available to customers from the start instead of feeding it to us one teaspoon a day. We understand that things may change along the way but it would be nice to know what the original plan was including the flights, hotel names and locations, wake up times and more detailed tour descriptions. The guide Ahmed friendly and attentive.
The only reason I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 is that the itinerary felt a little rushed at times. Some stops could have benefited from more free time to explore or simply enjoy the atmosphere without feeling on a tight schedule.

If you read the fine print and some of the reviews, we hope you will have a great experience as well and a very fair price for the trip. In addition to the advertised price, we paid 150 USD for entrance fees (regardless of how many places you visit, including optional tours) and 8 USD per day per traveler for tips (that covers the driver and guide), which can be paid in cash (new bills only) or charged on a credit card at the start of the trip.
Only the meals at the accommodations are included in the tour price so you will need to pay for a few more meals out of your own pocket. For us, the meals that were not included came to less than additional 200 USD per person. For this specific itinerary, there are no excursions the last day in Luxor unless you pay for the optional Dendera Temple tour. If you don’t need a day to relax in Luxor, then you will want to add on the optional tour or consider other itineraries.
First, some logistics. Toilet access is 20 EGP at most destinations. Most can give you change (it depends on whether they have change). You will have access to free toilets at the restaurants that the tour takes you to eat at, at hotels, and at airports (though you may still be approached for tips). You can get cash at the ATMs at the Cairo airport and many other places (hotels and restaurants).
The eSIM provided by TourRadar works, but is only 1GB so use it with care. Everyone in your group can get their own 1GB eSIM, but we didn’t try that. We purchased a physical SIM card at Cairo airport from Orange for < 8 USD. Make sure your phone is unlocked for either eSIM or physical SIM card.
Everywhere that the tour took us to, credit cards were accepted. Some places only accept credit cards (no cash). You may tip hotel and cruise staff and anyone else you want to thank. This can be in USD, but if you would like to tip less than a dollar, having some additional EGP will give you more flexibility.
On the cruise, water costs about 2 USD per 1.5L, and internet starts at about 8 USD (one device only). You will need to be able to get online to get itinerary details. Your eSIM should work most of the time on the cruise. You can bring water onto domestic flights (even in your carry-on luggage).
The tour guides, Sohaila Fuad in Cairo and Ahmed Kassem from Aswan to Luxor, are excellent. They are knowledgeable and passionate about Egypt. Ahmed is an extremely thoughtful tour guide. I wish all guides were like him. When he gives explanations, he will place the group outside the way of photo shoots so that others can take photos of highlights. The amount of detail and the complexity of all the different itineraries were incredible, and he was on top of every detail and every person. We all felt very safe in Ahmed’s hands.
The hotels and cruise were comfortable. Steigenberger was an exceptional place to spend the last two nights to recover from the journey. The buffets on the cruise ship were sumptuous. You must try the fish. Meals at the hotels were more expensive, close to the price you would pay at restaurants in the more expensive parts of the US.
The optional tours, Abu Simbel and Dendera Temple Complex, and the options that you can add on once on-site, are all excellent and highly recommended. Others in our tour group took the Hot Air Balloon, and they too loved their experience. We were bummed that we didn’t get to go on the Saqqara and Memphis tour on our last day because our Luxor to Cairo flight was delayed by 4.5 hours. Mohamed, who helped us with the overall itinerary and especially in Cairo, was super helpful to see us through a prompt refund.
The journey can be physically strenuous, getting up early some mornings and having lunch late in the day. We often had to walk briskly and climb up to temples and down to crypts.
We couldn’t have asked for a better group to be in a tour with. Everyone was courteous and punctual and many shared a passion about Egypt.
We added on a couple of days at the start of the trip to avoid any trouble with flight delays. We wanted to stay in Downtown Cairo and not 6th of October, and it was easy for us to get help in advance of our trip to change the airport transfer to be a hotel to hotel transfer.
Holiday in Egypt was recommended to us by our Egyptian friend, and we couldn’t have hoped for a more memorable experience.

Positive aspects:
Before arriving, the email communication was good and they attended without problem to the details and doubts we had. The overall organization works. The hotels, the cruise ship and the buffet food were of a very good standard, I would even say excellent. The sleeper train was a pleasant surprise, with airplane style dinner and breakfast, a comfortable and well organized experience. The monuments, of course, are a real treasure and worth seeing.
Negative aspects:
In our case, we decided to buy on our own the return flight to better adjust the schedule. The company, therefore, saved an included service which is the return sleeper train which is not cheap, and even so no compensation or adjustment in the price was offered, something that seemed to me not very transparent.
As for the guides, I found them to be pretty basic, without much historical depth. In general they did not show much interest in answering questions and it seemed that the priority was to get to the next tourist trap quickly. The pace was very unbalanced: all day running from one place to another to then spend two hours in a tourist store, something I personally do not enjoy.
A particularly uncomfortable point was the issue of the optional excursions: either you do them with them, or the atmosphere becomes clearly tense. In addition, these excursions have a very high extra cost (more than three times their real tourist value). I don't go into comparing with local prices where moving around in a cab for 20 minutes can cost around one euro, but the difference is evident and feels like an unnecessary pressure.
Also, it's not a local experience at all: you don't cross a street alone, you don't visit markets, there is no real contact with Egyptian daily life. Everything is comfortable, nice and at European prices, but far from an authentic experience. It is a trip completely in a bubble.
There was a lot of early mornings and even then up to 6 hours of the day spent on the ship doing nothing, which ends up being quite tiresome.
Our main guide during the cruise to Luxor, Ahmed, was dry and somewhat rude, which was quite surprising to me considering the generally good reviews of the company.
Important health recommendation:
I advise taking high doses of probiotics before and during the trip and drinking exclusively mineral water, even for brushing your teeth. Water can be easily purchased in any bazaar, on the ship or in the hotels (it is not free). Despite traveling in winter, the vast majority of our companions ended up sick, some spending several days very ill and practically in bed.
Conclusion:
Holiday In Egypt is a good option for anyone who wants to see the monuments in a comfortable, organized and hassle-free way, and people who like tours will probably be a good fit. However, if you are looking for depth, flexibility, close treatment or a real Egyptian experience, this is not the trip for you.

The food was decent, although not a huge variety. It would have been good if there was free water, but I'm glad coffee was free in the morning (there's no kettle in the room).
My only major complaint (and why I gave 4 stars instead of 5) is that I thought booking flights through the operator would make things stress free, but 48hrs before leaving I still didn't have details. It took asking 4 times in 1 day to finally get them (each time I was told they would get back to me soon, or by the end of the day - I finally messaged at 6pm and they sent them through).

Ahmed was a great guide who knew his Egyptian History and did a great job making the group feel comfortable. He took care of everything while we were able to enjoy the amazing Luxor, Edfu and Aswan sites. He made sure we stayed on schedule while still giving us time to explore the sites on our own after his guided tour.
The cruise boat was beautiful and more comfortable than expected, and the food was consistently good with a nice variety. Relaxing on the top deck was one of the highlights of the trip. I also highly recommend booking the Abu Simbel Temple excursion—it was absolutely worth it.
Overall, we loved our experience and highly recommend using Holiday in Egypt for a Nile River cruise.

We felt like they were cramming in economic opportunities for locals at the expense of less time for tourist things like sailing on a fellucca for example,or spending more time at the GEM.That is why I give 3 stars.Also when you say the meal is paid,please do not make us pay the water as it cheapens the experience... The overnight train was an awesome adventure. Would I recommend them?Yes,but they need to claw back on the shopping experiences or state at thje beginning that it is part of the tour....

Although the option of the hot air balloon ride was wonderful, there needed to be more information from the other guide that was assigned to chaperone us on this activity. Our primary guides, Suhaila and Ahmed were excellent! They took great care of us, very caring and always trying to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. Much kudos to them!

After a sleeper train ride from cairo to Aswan. There we met our constant companion guide Achmet Kassem who took care of our every need. He was an incredible guide with vast knowledge and attending to our every need whilst travelling with us from Aswan to Luxor on the Nile cruise which was an incredible experience. Achmet explained the various temples and its history to us. He is an incredible guide combining knowledge and individual attention and csre. The food on the cruise and at the fantastic resort in Hurghada was beyond expectation. Organisation of the tour was flawless and smooth. All and all an unforgettable tour we wish we could do again!

We had the absolute privilege of exploring Egypt’s iconic temples and hidden treasures with our private Egyptologist guide, Ahmed Kassem. His knowledge, storytelling, and genuine passion brought the ancient world to life in a way that was both educational and emotionally powerful. Ahmed was more than a guide—he was a historian, translator of ancient stories, and a truly kind human being. He tailored each day to our pace and interests, patiently explained every detail, and answered all our questions with enthusiasm.
What truly set Ahmed apart was his constant care and attention—he made sure we had a very pleasant and comfortable time in Egypt, every step of the way. Thanks to him, we didn’t just see Egypt—we understood it and felt welcomed by it.

The Nile Story cruise itself exceeded every expectation. The boat was spotless, beautifully maintained, and elegantly decorated. Watching the sun rise over the water was pure magic—a peaceful, timeless beauty that’s hard to describe.
The crew onboard was exceptional. From the front desk to housekeeping and dining staff, everyone treated us with kindness and warmth. The service was five-star without ever feeling formal or stiff—it was genuine hospitality. The food was fantastic: a thoughtful mix of Egyptian and international dishes, always fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented.
As for safety—Egypt felt completely safe throughout our trip. At no point did we feel uneasy. The people were warm, welcoming, and often went out of their way to help. While bargaining in the markets can be intense, once you understand that it's part of the culture. If you remain kind and confident, most vendors respect that. The human connection we felt with locals—from boat staff to shopkeepers—was one of the most memorable parts of the trip.
This experience struck the perfect balance between adventure, relaxation, history, and connection. Egypt's rich cultural heritage, the kindness of its people, and the serene beauty of the Nile will stay with us forever.
We’re incredibly grateful for this journey—especially to our guide, Ahmed Kassem, who made sure we had the best experience possible, and to the wonderful team aboard the Nile Story. We left with hearts full, minds enriched, and a deep love for this incredible country.

So many historical places and museums to see. The cruise is great. My only disappointment was that the hot air balloon was cancelled due to bad weather. Tour was well organized. Our initial tour guide was unable to complete due to medical emergency but was replaced by another knowledgeable guide Ahmed Kassem. We took an Uber to the Mall of Egypt in Cairo and we were surprised to see how big and luxurious it was. You will enjoy this trip, just like we did.

1) Safety - Prior to booking this trip, I had many safety concerns and was unsure if this was a smart decision. However, upon arriving at Cairo, at no time did I feel unsafe in any way. The driver was exactly where he said he would be at the airport and took us directly to our hotel. During the tours, there was never a moment when I felt any danger or unsure of a situation.
2) Tours - The tours were amazing and our guide, Ahmed, spent all the time needed to ensure we got all the information we needed/wanted. We visited: the Pyramids (including camelback ride), Philae Temple, Nubian Village, Edfu Temple, Kom Ombo Temple, Luxor Temple, Valley of the Kings, Temple of Hatshepsut, Dendera Temple, and took a hot air balloon ride. All tours were top notch and very well run by our guide.
3) Accommodations - I am very high maintenance and these accommodations were impressive to me. They put us in excellent hotels and the Nile Cruise boat was outstanding. Everything was clean and provided a great atmosphere after our tours. Meals were great and provided a wonderful variety. Everyone we dealt with was friendly and looking to help make our time special.
Ahmed was an incredible guide and, by the end of the tour, we felt sad as if we were leaving a family member. He totally made our time unforgettable and we are very appreciative to him. Communication was also done very timely and clear. There were no surprises. I strongly recommend this tour and company. I don’t think you’d regret it.
ACCOMMODATION - The hotel in Giza was beautiful, spacious and clean with kind staff and a delicious buffet of food. NILE RIVER CRUISE - The vibe was relaxing with a rooftop pool and sunloungers on the top deck. It was eventful with a live belly dancing show and a lovely dinner on the top deck. The towel art brought us joy and caught our hearts. Advice: purchases made on board the cruise ship may be more expensive than buying outside the cruise ship.
TRANSPORT - The SLEEPER TRAIN cabin for 2 people was not as bad as I was anticipating. The bed was comfortable despite the mattress/cushion being thinner than a regular mattress. The train was definitely old and cramped however, it was big enough to accommodate a petite asian girl like me with my 5'10 brother and our 2 overhead cabin luggage. Dinner (chicken and rice) on the sleeper train was delicious and although breakfast (3 types of bread) was simple, we appreciated having food provided. There was no wifi on the train as expected from an old train, and the communal toilet was not the most pleasant, but having a sink in the cabin where we could brush our teeth in was helpful. Overnight on the sleeper train is manageable. On the other hand, we had varied experiences on the BUSES. The first 5 hour bus journey to Hugarda was initially so warm which later improved as apparently, another passenger asked the driver to turn up the AC, and it was cramped. However, the 7 hour bus ride from Hugarda to Cairo was less cramped and cooler from the outset. The latter was more convenient but both were very long rides.
FOOD - included in most of the trip. delicious and varied. so many to choose from. We got to eat an authentic Koshari from the best Kosher restaurants in Cairo.
PICK UP AND DROP OFF - Convenient but there was at times miscommunication. My advice to the operator is to clearly state that the sign that will be held up by the driver is "HOLIDAY IN EGYPT" as the text message was "the driver will be holding a sign with your name on it." Another advice would be to make this sign as big as possible so it can be more easily seen amidst all the chaos. Other times when the pick up drivers were not holding up a sign or did not have a badge was at the pick up point in Hugarda or at Cairo.
TOUR GUIDES- Sohaila was our tour guide in Giza and she was knowledgeable and friendly. Ahmed Kaseem was our tour guide from Aswan to Luxor and he was passionate, knowledgeable, credible, patient and considerate. Ahmed Kaseem haggled for some of our group and ensured we got the best price for what we were buying. He was respectful to the vendors on the street and would ask us if we wanted to buy and if no one wanted to buy, he would kindly say sorry and return the items to the vendors respectfully.
TOURS - expect long days and early start and finish, sometimes with a 4 am call time which my family was used to from our years of travelling. This was necessary to allow us to see everything in our itinerary with sufficient time and to allow the guides to explain everything in detail.
OPERATOR - Holiday in Egypt was reachable and responded, in a timely manner. The operators introduced themselves. Mohammed was sweet. He met up with us at the train station and accompanied us at the train station until our sleeper train arrived to ensure we were safe. Alaa also introduced himself in Luxor which was polite.
Ahmed kassem was well rounded with the sites and gave much support to the group, especially to individual needs. From the outset, I was thoroughly impressed by their seamless organisation and unwavering commitment to our safety and comfort. Navigating the complexities of Egypt, from transportation to entry queues, can be daunting for a first-timers to Egypt. However, Holidays in Egypt expertly handled every logistical detail, transforming potential stress into effortless ease. The relief of not having to negotiate every step allowed me to fully immerse myself in the profound experiences Egypt has to offer.
The depth of local knowledge and historical insights shared by our guides was truly enriching; I learned far more than I anticipated. Our journey began the moment we landed at Cairo's airport, where our friendly driver was promptly waiting to escort us to a magnificent 5-star hotel near the iconic Giza pyramids. Following a smooth check-in and a well-arranged start to our first morning, we enjoyed breakfast and embarked on a fascinating tour of Cairo. Our Cairo guide, a true professional with a university background in Egyptian history, brought the ancient world to life as we explored the awe-inspiring scale and age of these remarkable artifacts.
The day's explorations left us happily tired, and the overnight sleeper train to Aswan was a welcome respite. The Holidays in Egypt team continued to provide exceptional support, accompanying us to our cabins, ensuring the train staff were appropriately tipped for excellent service. While the "first-class" sleeper train might align more closely with a Western 3-star standard in terms of age and space, it was perfectly comfortable for a night's sleep. It's worth noting that the single meal provided caters well to meat eaters, but those with specific dietary requirements should be aware of the limited options. Also, be sure to download entertainment beforehand, as there is no Wi-Fi abd cellular data is patchy to nonexistent.
Arriving in Aswan around 11 am, we were warmly greeted by our new guide, a charming Luxor local who affectionately dubbed our group of twelve the "Royal Family." Spending the next four days with the knowledgeable and engaging Mr. Kassem was an absolute pleasure.
Our introduction to Aswan included a visit to a beautiful temple and a local lunch before we checked into our luxurious 5-star Nile cruise. The cabins were spacious, boasting large windows that offered breathtaking panoramic views of the ever-changing scenery along the Nile. The subsequent three nights on the cruise were a highlight, with seamless transitions on and off the boat to explore the significant temples and tombs between Aswan and Luxor. The guides' historical expertise, combined with their invaluable local insights for smooth navigation, truly elevated the tour. We also appreciated the ample downtime to unwind by the pool, enjoying cocktails as the timeless beauty of the Nile Riverbanks drifted by.
On our final day, an early start allowed us to avoid the crowds, and we concluded our sightseeing by early afternoon. With our overnight train back to Cairo scheduled for the evening, Holidays in Egypt thoughtfully arranged for us to relax by the pool and freshen up before our driver returned to safely escort us back to the train station. While an upgrade to flights was offered, we found the comfortable sleeper train perfectly adequate for an overnight journey.
The exceptional service continued right until the very end. Upon our arrival at the Cairo train station, our reliable driver was there to meet us, even taking care of tipping the train staff before ensuring our safe and timely transfer to the airport.
My experience in Egypt was truly unforgettable, largely thanks to the outstanding care and meticulous planning of Holidays in Egypt. Their impeccable coordination, attention to both group and individual needs, and unwavering focus on our safety created a stress-free and enriching adventure. The Sights
The Pyramids of Giza are, without a doubt, the highlight of any trip to Egypt. Standing before these colossal structures, it's almost impossible not to feel a sense of awe. The Great Pyramid, with its sheer scale and incredible history, was a surreal experience. Beyond the pyramids, the temples of Luxor and Karnak transport you back in time, offering an unparalleled glimpse into the grandeur of ancient Egypt.
One of my favorite moments was a cruise along the Nile. The river, often called the lifeblood of Egypt, is beautiful, and the view of temples and tombs lining its banks is a photographer’s dream. The Valley of the Kings is another must-see, and the tombs are both haunting and awe-inspiring.
The Culture
Egypt’s culture is as diverse and complex as its history. The vibrant markets in Cairo are an experience all on their own. The chaotic energy of the market, the smells of spices, and the sound of haggling create an atmosphere that is uniquely Egyptian. The people I encountered were friendly, eager to share their culture and history, and always willing to help when needed.
The Food
Egyptian food is a delightful experience. I indulged in a variety of dishes, from falafel to koshari (a comforting mix of rice, lentils, pasta, and fried onions). Don't miss out on trying the fresh seafood by the Red Sea or enjoying a traditional meal at a local restaurant. The flavors are rich, often accompanied by the perfect blend of spices that linger long after the meal.
The Challenges
While Egypt is an amazing destination, it’s important to be prepared for the heat, especially during summer. The desert climate can be intense, and it’s advisable to stay hydrated and dress appropriately. The timeliness of communications seemed a bit last minute/were just-in-time when it came to flight tickets and hotel changes but Taher in Operations was very responsive to any questions raised. The hotels were great, our drivers were terrific and the arabian food was really good. The cruise ship was a little outdated but very clean and with friendly staff.

It was very painful and I could only walk with difficulty. The tour guide Ahmed Kassem immediately borrowed a wheelchair to take me back to the ship. Ahmed Kassem immediately arranged a car (free of charge) when it arrived in Luxor the next day. I was sent to Luxor Hospital for a medical consultation.
In that hospital, foreigners had to go through a complicated process to get a medical report and a receipt. In addition to seeing a doctor and taking X-rays, they also had to answer questions from investigators and also need write a report to them about how the accident happened.
Thanks so much to the tour guide's constant companionship and translation, the whole process was completed within 2.5 hours.
Afterwards, the tour guide also helped to borrow a wheelchair and a young helper, so that I could participate in the last day's itinerary in Luxor. I am really grateful to everyone in the travel agency for their enthusiastic and proactive care along the way.
If you like to hear stories about Egyptian history, the tour guide is excellent. I appreciate his humility and competence, and how he handles many troubles and arrangements very politely and efficiently.

A tip of 8€ per day per person is required (a group of 4 like us = 32€ per day, or 1600 Egyptian pounds, which is a lot!).
What's more: this tip is requested even for the day of arrival, even though it only includes our transfer to the hotel, and for the last 3 days in Urgadah, where we are on our own and tips are therefore requested directly from us.
This tip does not include that of the guide. We'll have to dig deep into our pockets...
ATTENTION SCAM: the extra "super safari" activity at Urgadah. First of all, how can we explain that this activity is billed at around €65 for some members of our group and €85 for others?
Much worse! This activity is billed at 25€ on Get your guide, and this is the price paid by people from other travel companies.
The icing on the cake: the super safari consists of 7 minutes on a broken and patched-up quad bike, 6 minutes on a buggy, 20m on a camel. Far from what we expected when we paid €65-85.
Taher's response, to which we asked for justification: "That's the game, you should have asked before".
I can understand that the organization makes a profit on our bookings, but that's not enough to make a x4...

Everyday we saw amazing things that made us even more amazed. The culture and history of Egypt was so very welcoming and fascinating. Ahmed was a very attentive tour guide that responded to needs. This tour fits 2 weeks of material into one week, So there were plenty of very early mornings (3-5 am wake up calls) for activities, but every one of them was worth it. My 13-year-old and 10-year-old both did great + couldn't wait to go back. Our small group of 15 people really bonded and connected. Everyone was respectful and it was a lovely trip.

Everyone I ever interacted with who worked for or contracted with Holiday in Egypt was kind and went out of their way to make sure we had what we needed. Taher was great with coordinating the logistics and explaining what to expect. Our Cairo tour guide Mohamed was funny and knowledgeable. Our Nile Cruise tour guide, Ahmed, was flexible and great at managing a lot of different personalities. He was also very passionate about tellings the stories of the gods and pharaohs.
There are a few things you should be prepared for when you go on this tour. First, it's an AGGRESSIVE itinerary. That's a good thing. You will see and do a lot. You will need time to unpack and process it all when you get back home. It's good to understand ahead of time that you will be getting up at Egypt time 3 am, 4 am, 5 am, and it will be 90 or 100 degrees outside by the time you're finishing up. Managing expectations about how long you can reasonably spend at each site both because of the number of places to go and the exhaustion you may feel is important. It was healthy for me to remember that this was an introduction, making me want to go back for a deeper dive. It helped me avoid feeling guilty about sitting out an excursion to save mental and physical energy for an activity I had been waiting for my entire life. I suggest that the tour guides allow us to manage our own bodies and needs in this way without giving us a hard time, as it's not a reflection of our enjoyment of the trip.
Second, before we left, I found it frustrating that so little information is provided as it made things chaotic at times. At the lowest point, because of a miscommunication, we didn't know where our passports were for 24 hours and this caused some unnecessary anxiety. I spoke with the tour guide about it and it was an unfortunate mistake and he apologized. Toward the end of the trip, however, I came to see this in a new light. It's not that they're keeping the information to themselves -- they're trying to maintain flexibility because the company they're doing something I've actually never seen before: individualize a group experience, to the extent that that's possible. In other words, you're paying for a standardized experience. A group tour has a set of things by default. What Holiday in Egypt is trying to do is learn how to make everyone happy by adjusting and customizing to fit interests, schedules, and needs.
The deeper we got into the tour, the more I came to truly appreciate our tour guide Ahmed. He learned our habits and used them to make sure we were happy, comfortable, and safe. He also balanced everyone's needs and desires simultaneously to make everyone as happy, comfortable, and safe as possible, for example, people who wanted only to take a few pictures at a site versus those who wanted to spend an hour or more exploring. He was able to manage a couple of disruptive young girls in the group who were constantly giggling and talking over him even when others were struggling to hear. He did this by giving them a role while he was leading the group to keep them busy, and it worked. On the final day, I watched him arrange an impromptu late lunch for a hungry group while coordinating a car for a couple that needed to get to the bus station and asking the driver to stop by McDonald's so they could eat; ordering two different cars that arrived within minutes of each other to take two group members to the airport to two different flights; and dropping people off at the ferry on the way to bringing us back to the cruise boat, where he arranged with the crew for us to have a room for the afternoon to shower and change clothes before our evening flights. I really have to give props to Ahmed for all the hard work he put in, and he always did it with a smile.
I would go on this vacation again in a heartbeat. I would like to take another of their tours someday if I ever go back to Egypt.

We absolutely loved our tour guide in Cairo- Sohaila was fantastic!! We had another guide for the remainder of the trip that we had some good days with and some days with less than ideal communication.
Communication overall from the company is very last minute and lacking in my opinion. You will not have information about in-country flights until a few hours before flights at times. We were even given incorrect information. This caused anxiety on our part and feels unnecessarily chaotic. In the end it all worked out, but takes away from the 'vacation' vibes for sure.
Definitely plan for some VERY early morning departures (as early as 3am some days) and put your flexible pants on! It is absolutely worth it to get to the sites before the heat and the crowds and you often have some down time in the afternoon to nap.
The accommodations are perfectly adequate - the hotel in Cairo is very nice! The boat is perhaps a bit out of date. The resort in Luxor was unexpectedly relaxing!

Overall, Egypt felt safe to visit and the trip was well worth it to learn about their history

All the other ships we docked next to did have Wi-Fi. The reception desk couldn't explain why and seemed to not care. The e-mail the supplier sent me stated "all cabins offer excellent Nile views". Not true! I visited many other cabins and it appears the windows haven't been washed in years. It was almost impossible to see out!! Many customers complained about it! The tour guide was constantly rushing us!!! No time to ask questions while seeing the sites; only after we had completed the tour during our "free time".
The total time spent at The High Dam was about 10 minutes. No time to read any of the displays or visit the vendors and bathrooms. I asked other tour groups how long they had to visit and the stated at least a half hour. Lastly,
the supplier's e-mail also stated "flights from Aswan to Cairo usually depart at 5:00 PM. The reality was I had to leave at 9:00AM which negatively impacted my plans.

Last but not least, I'd like to thank all the staff on the Nile cruise on the "Princesse Sarah", who are friendly, attentive to passengers' needs and very festive. We had a great time there, especially on the rooftop with its pool and bar. I'd particularly like to thank one of the bartenders, Peter, who was so kind to me, making me a nice cup of chamomile tea when I had a stomachache, a little gesture that really touched my heart.

There are so many beautiful things to see! The accommodation was good, as was the food. Please note that if you have difficulty walking, this trip may be a little too active, as the pace is quite fast and not everything is geared towards disabled guests. Getting up early (very early) is also part of the deal, so keep that in mind, but here too you will be rewarded. This trip is highly recommended for anyone who wants to discover ancient Egypt in a short period of time! Go for it!

I highly recommend booking it. Our two guides Souheila and Ahmed treated us like family. Ahmed went above and beyond to plan our outings, accommodations and transportation.
I recommend some of the optional add ons like the hot air ballon ride and taking a flight back to Cairo instead of the bus.

Day 1 is a chill day. Get to the hotel. Get used to the sounds, foods and air.
Day 2 is action packed. Leaving the hotel at 8am and visiting the pyramids and the GEM. We were accommodated quite well by the tour guide, Sohaila.
I can always go into extreme detail but that would spoil the fun because there are many pleasant surprises on this trip and I hope you get the chance to experience it.
Just know that you will stay in 5 star hotels and I mean FIVE STAR. You will make new friends with people in your tour group and its awesome. We are still friends even after the trip and keep in contact. You will have amazing experiences every where you go as the Egyptian culture is rich with history and fascinating stories. You are guarenteed to learn alot.
The cherry on top of the cake is how well you will be taken care of by the tour guides. They will really go out of their way to ensure you have the best possible experience.
I would highly recommend.
Side note: There are a few early mornings but it is worth it. As you wont be standing in long tourist lines. In Abu Simbel, if we were 20 minutes later then we would have waited in a really long line. A few other places are like that due to the amount of tourists. So the tour guides like to go early. Our tour guide was Ahmed and he is brilliant. His knowledge, his volcabulary and his commitment was fantastic.
If my writing has convinced you to go then just do it. It is so worth it!

The Egyptologist guide for the GEM was Sohaila, she was really professional and knowledgeable and guided us around this giant museum and explained a lot in the time available. The Guide for the Nile cruise was Ahmed. His English was perfect and he was good fun. He was very knowledgeable and professional and took great care of our large group of 22 people. Unfortunately 7 of the group had bad tummies, including my wife and I, so take some tablets to counter these effects.
The plan was to stay 1st night at the Helnan Dream 5* but there was not sufficient availability so my wife and I were put in the Stay Inn, where the traffic was so noisy we couldn’t sleep, so not a great start. Night 2 we elected to go on the sleeper train to Aswan despite reading reviews about the poor state of the trains, (but we also heard the flights are regularly delayed), it turned out the last carriage was recently refurbished and it was an excellent trip. We then transferred to the M/S Renaissance, which was a nice boat to relax for nights 3, 4 & 5 and enjoy the fertile Nile River views. We transferred by coach to the Iberhotel at Hurghada for night 6, 7 & 8, which is a really we presented resort. We then transferred on a coach to Cairo airport, a 7 hour ride arriving 9pm. We chose to stay a night at the airport as there were no night flights to London. Overall very enjoyable.

I really appreciated the slower pace of his private tour, plus more free time at the end. On other sites, I felt rushed and would have liked more free time. My learning style works best with in-depth experiences, with time to reflect, rather than hitting all possible spots.
6). I’ll remember Ahmed for his ideas and resourcefulness in handling our problems — and not giving up!

Two points to highlight:
Firstly, when our initial arrival time was changed due to a delayed internal flight, not the fault of the tour company, Ahmed rearranged the timing of our visits so that we did not miss anything at all on the itinerary.
Secondly, in each location Ahmed took time to explain everything and answer all questions before recommending an amount of time for us to tour each location and take photos in our own time, while he waited, arranging to meet again inside the location before moving to the next place.
We also enjoyed our cruise. The staff were sincere and friendly and the food both varied and delicious with choices for different tastes and requirements. The room was clean and pleasant and it was a pleasure to sit and watch the scenery pass by in the times we were cruising.
We were amazed by what we saw in Egypt, with the huge well preserved temples, the tombs, and the river, all of which were brought to life by Ahmed’s explanations. We also felt very safe throughout the journey with no nuisances at all.
We sincerely recommend this very memorable experience.

Ahmed was truly an amazing tour guide, kept us moving at the right pace and is extremely knowledgeable about all of the sites visited and Egypt’s history in general. We felt 100% safe and 110% amazed the whole time. After a morning of sight seeing we boarded the ship Steigenberger Regency and wow was it incredible. Definitely 5*, the rooms were spacious, common areas were lovely and the staff were incredibly attentive. Each day we were treated to a delicious buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner which was different each time and the food was wonderful. If I could have stayed on for another 5 days and gone right back up the river I would have. We also met wonderful people on the tour from all over the world. Fantastic experience we highly recommend (and thank you again Ahmed for a beautiful visit!).

Our only suggestions would be that the itinerary posted on the website needs to be more detailed - the days are very long, if I am honest - if we were more informed we would’ve perhaps chosen a different tour. Most sites are crowded so be prepared for that- it’s a shame that it is not regulated more but this is not the tour company’s issue.

At all times I felt safe, well guided and accompanied. The guide was always concerned about our safety, if we had eaten, if we were all together.
The itinerary was perfect and allowed us to learn more about the history, temples and culture of the country. In addition, the food was a great surprise; everything was delicious and the cruise was themed on Egyptian nights, activities very well taken care of.

I opted to upgrade to fly to Aswan, rather than taking the train, as cleanliness is extremely important to me. The choice made my travel experience stress-free and pleasant. Mohamed, HIE tour representative, made sure my transfers to and from the Cairo airports were arranged seamlessly, and he was responsive and clear in communication (with one exception, as I wasn’t prepared for my 6-hour safari excursion without a lunch bag). Both of our guides, Soheila Fuad and Ahmed Kassem, demonstrated exceptional skill in navigating the historical sites. Their in-depth knowledge of Egypt’s rich history greatly enhanced the tour experience.
While the overall logistics were well managed, there is room for improvement in moving more efficiently along the Nile to ensure all planned visits in the itinerary are completed on time.
I was pleased to see that the hotel accommodations featured green initiatives. Overall, I highly commend Holiday In Egypt for their professionalism and dedication to making the journey as enjoyable as possible.

Our trip with Holiday In Egypt was truly amazing from start to finish. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that we were in the hands of professionals who deeply respect the history, the culture, and the people they represent.
Both of our tour guides, Sohalia and Ahmed, were outstanding. They were incredibly knowledgeable, well prepared, and impressively quick witted. Managing 14 tourists with different personalities, expectations, and energy levels is no small task, yet they did so with patience, humor, and grace. They were always ready to pivot when needed and never missed a beat.
Yes, you wake up early almost every day. And yes, it is absolutely worth it.
Standing in a place where so much of the world’s history and knowledge began was humbling. This experience went beyond sightseeing. It offered perspective, context, and a deeper appreciation for how much of what we know today has roots there.

The overall experience was great with a few hiccups along the way, the tour guides were very good and knowledgeable, the accommodation was outstanding. The down sides were visits to perfume, pottery and was going to be spice display, these were purely selling goods, time better spent on the temples. The ‘cruise’ was a bit dissapointing as the boat didn’t move the first night then the next day we spent 4 hours in one spot waiting to go through the lock then the next day cruised for another two hours, when we did move it was beautiful but wouldn’t call it a cruise. Do not take the train option (which they did tell us not too) as the train toilet is filthy and the furnishing falling to bits and paint work peeling off, although despite this we slept well! The last day at the all inclusive resort is a lovely ending. We made some lovely friends. The ending of our trip was tiresome with a 7 hour bus ride back to Cairo. Overall it was a great trip for the price and I would recommend it, but maybe fly back to Cairo and fly instead of train. Thank you

I recently completed a 5-day, 4-night Nile River cruise, and I can honestly say it was one of the most memorable travel experiences I have ever had. A huge part of that was thanks to our exceptional tour guide, Mr. Ahmed Kassem.
From the moment the tour began, Mr. Ahmed was excellent, responsible, punctual, and incredibly protective of everyone in the group. He made sure we were always safe, well-informed, and on time—without ever making the schedule feel rushed. His deep knowledge of Egyptian history brought every temple and archaeological site to life, and he explained everything in a clear and engaging way.
What I appreciated most was his professionalism and genuine care. Whether it was guiding us through crowded sites, giving helpful tips, or checking in to make sure we were comfortable, he consistently went above and beyond. His passion for his work truly shows.
The Nile cruise itself was beautiful—peaceful mornings on the river, delicious meals, comfortable accommodations, and unforgettable visits to Luxor, Aswan, and all the incredible temples in between. But having Mr. Ahmed as our guide made the entire journey even more special and stress-free.
I highly recommend this cruise experience and strongly recommend Mr. Ahmed Kassem to anyone visiting Egypt. You will be in excellent hands.

We stayed on Jaz Celebrity ship, the rooms were roomy and very well furnished and the beds were so comfortable. The ship staff was so polite, friendly and super helpful. The food was buffet style and it was excellent with different selection every day. And last but not least, our guide Ahmed was the best. So knowledgeable, friendly, accomodating and genuinely cares about everyone having the best time. I highly recommend this tour company.
A traveler's tip, the schedule is packed with so many places to go to, the flight from Cairo to Aswan is so early in the morning and the flight back to cairo is so late at night. So, if you have time to spend a couple of days in cairo before the tour, that will help you adjust to the time difference.

Despite some delays, mainly related to exterior factors, Ahmed managed to fit all scheduled activities. Moreover, he handled extra tasks like shipping lost and found luggage from Cairo to Luxor! The first day in Cairo we were guided by Sohila, an excellent guide, everything was very well explained. The only thing I didn't like was the restaurant where they took us to eat. The food was the same for everyone, only 3 options: meat, chicken or fish.
The hotel helnan, is not in Cairo, it is in October 6th almost 50 minutes away from the airport, our international flight of more than 18 hours and then having to wait another 50 minutes to get to the hotel makes it more tiring.
The ship can improve a lot, the food was good, but it lacks cleanliness and it would be nice if they did not allow smoking, as it smells like cigarettes, I do not recommend it for traveling with children.
You lose a whole day on the cruise when you move from Esdu to Luxor, and all the cruises go together so the pollution that you are breathing while you are on the terrace is very bad.
The jacuzzi was not working, it gave touches to a passenger who wanted to get in.
When we arrived in Luxor where we spent a night inside the ship already docked at the pier it was terrible. We were left in a super dirty place where they remodel the ships.
Our guide Ahmed rushed us a lot, we had practically no time to admire the temples,
All the tours start at the same time so they are crowded because all the boats arrive at the same time. The
Which makes you can not appreciate or enjoy 100%.
Overall it was ok but if I had known this information I would have preferred to do the tour on my own and definitely not include the cruise, so I could choose the hotels of my preference.
They sell it as 5 star but it is more like 3 star for my point of view.

Overall, our experience was very good - the only big downside for us was the extreme pollution from our boat and the surrounding boats. As we were always moving in "groups of boats", we followed them. As a result, when we were outside, we found ourselves in a cloud of pollution from the old diesel engines. At the same time, being stuck to the other boats at the mooring meant we only had one evening with a view of the Nile from our room.
The rest was exceptional: our guide Ahmed Kassem was incredible! Passionate, fascinating, extremely kind, with a willingness to pass on everything he could, he was very considerate and attentive ... we recommend him 100%!!! The boat's crew, and especially the kitchen crew, were great too. The buffet was extremely varied. As for the activities, Ahmed always managed to find us the best time slots to avoid the crowds of tourists as much as possible. We couldn't have done it without his help, for sure!
The cabins were magnificent, spacious, modern and clean.
We loved meeting the Egyptian people, who were extremely kind, sometimes a little tactless when it came to business (loud, demanding), but safe and smiling even when we refused to buy.

Ahmed Kassem joined us for the remaining time on our Nile cruise, his knowledge and attention to detail was exceptional. As two female travellers we felt extremely safe and comfortable with all that we did within the tour.

He was accommodating, and took the time to listen to our wishes, as we have a long international flight after the tour, hence we did not want to do the abu simbel tour on the last day. During the tour, he provided thorough information regarding the sites we have visited, and was happy to answer any questions. He promptly assisted when a group member needed medical assistance. We are happy with his service and thank him for his patience.
The tour- We had 8 people in our tour group. For the amount we paid, we can say that it is worth the price. Included in the price were two flights, transfers to cairo airport and to aswan airport, tour guide, van transfers, and three meals a day on board the royal ruby cruise ship for the nile cruise. There was an additional fee of 8usd per day per person for the tips for the cruise ship/ drivers and also for the entrance fees.
Holiday in Egypt- as a whole, the company coordinated our car transfers and flights well. Drivers always kind and on time. All staff have been respectful and accomodating. However, for a couple that have never joined a tour group before, the early morning start times have been rather difficult.
The Royal Ruby cruise-
Breakfast, lunch and dinner were provided on board. They really need to do something about the seating arrangements. It is quite unpleasant to be sitting in a round table in front of strangers and to have non-negotiable seating arrangements. Food is okay, but they need to keep track of what people actually eat and make it available. Going through the unpleasant experience of sitting with strangers in a small confined space, with said strangers yelling and hollering, plus being served a mediocre food is not what we thought a holiday should be. We cannot fault their staff, as they have been helpful and attentive at all times.
Our Suggestions:
Holiday in Egypt needs to think about the cruise ships they affiliate with. The whole experience of the tour relies heavily on the cruise.
It seems that the cruise ships have the same schedule, so they arrive and leave a site at roughly the same time. We do not understand why there is a need to crowd everyone together, when after we leave, the place gets empty. It would have been a much nicer experience if we can actually properly hear our tour guide discuss about something.
Another point is that we have seen a few elderly people in the tour groups, so we suggest that the tour guides and also someone in the cruise ship should be available and trained to provide first aid and immediate medical care, if needed.
Our tour guide, Ahmed Kaseem had been excellent in his service. Overall, we thank holiday in Egypt for their efforts and for a memorable experience.

Boat was one of many (<35) tied up at dock about six boats deep (side to side) walking through 5 boats to get to yours - that's the way every day and night went, no "romantic" settings!
Our boat bathroom door would not stay closed unless you (literally) slammed it closed and then the first dat the shower sprayed a leak - at least 70% of water sprayed sideways, soaking everything in the room up to about 3 feet above the floor (all the way to the door). I asked reception to fix it, when we returned from the morning tour, no repair....I had to ask the tour guide to intervene. Finally housekeeping showed up, verified the problem, then came back with mechanic who replaced the shower hose in 10 minutes! Why wasn't this taken care of before? Why was it so hard to get it repaired?
Our guide, Ahmed, traveled with us (we were a group of 8 persons) in our van, but didn't start explaining things until we were waiting (standing) in the sun to hear his explanations. Ahmed was nice but didn't know how to organize: he would say, let's meet about "tomorrow" before dinner, no wait, after dinner and then would talk to us whenever!
On the last day, we traveled for 3 hrs to Abu Simbel with another tour guide. Almost no one understood his English. Then on the way back, it turned out that they were in a hurry because some of our group had an "earlier" flight back to Cairo, so the driver was far exceeding the speed limit, which spooked some of us travelers and he was asked to slow down. He didn't want to slow down because he was running late, so when the tour guide said he should slow down he slowed way down to 2/3 the speed limit! The second driver wasn’t very professional.
Our flight out was on time. The drop off at our hotel was easy, but the Cairo Friday evening traffic was horrendous! But the driver was cool and calm and took the traffic in stride - good driver!

The accommodations were very nice and I didn’t get sick from the water.
My suggestions would be to bring all light weight cotton clothing and do not worry about dress codes. Ladies bring a lightweight scarf that’s all. The people are so welcoming in Egypt, Enjoy!

Our tour guide Ahmed did a wonderful job and managed our group well. He was very informative, did regular head counts of our group and gave us free time at each site where possible. There were so many tourists at each site so sometimes it was hard to hear him speaking and explaining about the history amongst the sound of so many surrounding tourists. Ahmed was friendly and approachable with any questions. Overall, I would use this Tour Provider again. It was my 2nd time to Egypt, and cruising The Nile was just fabulous. I travelled solo mostly in Egypt and was happy to have joined up with this tour and met some lovely and interesting people from other parts of the world in my group. Its my 2nd tour experience through the Tour Radar website and I must say, I've been very impressed with it too.
Overall I think this trip was fantastic. This was our first time in Egypt and it was truly a great experience for us. What made it great were our tour guides. The one small complaint I do have is regarding transportation. If you choose this trip, make sure you know how much time you will be spending in a car/bus. The car rides were generally okay however our last day when we took a bus from Hurghada to Cairo, it was a terrible experience. We were left to navigate the bus station ourselves and it was an 8 hour ride on a cramped and frankly, smelly bus. I wish there was more indication of how the commute back to Cairo would be. Food became a little redundant especially on the cruise and at the resort.
Overall if you can look past the nitty/gritty, I think it’s a wonderful trip to book.

All the transportation, lodging, meals, guides, and even tipping was taken care of. Everyday was packed full and I am pleased with everything I got to see and experience in the 8 days of the tour. The only thing that I wasn’t expecting was that our group fluctuated with different people and we had a few different guides. I had expected to have the same people and one guide for the entirety of the trip. Overall, I would recommend this company.

We also had our guide all the time that was checking on us and enriching this experience with history of Egypt and its temples. The only downside was the sleeper train, which was a whole experience and would rather take the flight upgrade. Other than that, I would 10/10 recommend this tour.

Then Ahmed would describe and explain the history of the place perfectly, and we'd be amazed a second time. His work was incredible from start to finish, and made the cruise very enjoyable. He was always attentive, even when we were ordering cabs or hotels after the cruise.
Egypt is an incredible country and much safer than you'd think.
We had a minor complaint about the food on board, but that's not what we remember about this trip.

From beginning to end our Nile River Cruise was literally smooth sailing! Tour radar organised all our transfers from Cairo and back and inbetween. Our guide Ahmed met us at Luxor airport and started off with Valley of the Kings. Our mini bus always had aircon which was certainly welcomed after walking in the heat, but the sights were unforgettable! Most of the tours just go for half the day so you can relax on the boat for the other half. Our rooms very comfortable. When the ship is docked you are neighbouring other ships so no view out the window, but when sailing you can have the curtains open and enjoy the view. The view is even better from the deck where we enjoyed the pool, kids waving to you from the river banks. There was lots of variety of food on the boat. Plenty of vegan/veg options. Would have been nice to have some green tea or herbal tea options - it was only black tea and coffee. Decent entertainment - one night we had a dance party and last night was a performance. Our guide Ahmed shared plenty of knowledge with us when first arriving at the temples, afterwards you had time to explore on your own. Be prepared for big crowds of other tour groups while you’re out. But still plenty of opportunities to get awesome photos. Everything was very well organised with great communication from Tour Radar and our guide Ahmed. It really was an unforgettable experience and would definitely recommend part taking in the cruise experience whilst visiting Egypt. I think 4 nights 5 days was the perfect amount of time. Thank you so much again to Ahmed and crew on board the ship, we hope to visit again one day!

The organiser Mohamed met us on the first day to run through the tour and then following days provided updates through our WhatsApp group chat with meeting times with the guides, which I really liked as it was kept very professional and well informed. The tour guides Hazem, Ahmed and Sohaila were very professional and efficient. Their knowledge about the monuments and history truly made the whole trip fantastic. The transportation such as the drivers Sammy, Bob and the other driver that I didn’t catch his name (did a 6 hour drive to a temple) were very lovely and friendly and made me feel very safe, the food and the people very simply delightful and I never felt unsafe, especially as a solo female traveler. I really recommend this trip it had a bit of everything. I really recommend Ahmed as guide for Aswan and Luxor and Sohaila and Hazem for the Cairo. Even the staff on the Nile cruise or at the hotels are so friendly. In terms of food at some of the hotels and Nile cruise are a bit limited as a vegetarian but still very good, you won’t be hungry. Egypt is a beautiful country and the people in it are even more beautiful. I never felt unsafe in this country.

He was so transparent with the vendors in the street, ensuring that they respected us as tourists, but also supported the vendors to sell to us as needed, respecting the culture of his country. It was the small details, when I needed to cross the road, he would take my hand and guide me, making me feel very safe. The cruise was lovely, the staff on the cruise were friendly and the buffet food was amazing. The hole in Hurgharda was all inclusive and a beautiful beach resort. For a young couple who had never been to the Middle East before, we felt very safe, educated and well looked after with Ahmed.

So much knowledge, so organised and such a fun personality. ‘My family’ he addressed the group, ‘ my queen’ to all the ladies in the group in his lovely gentle manner. So respectful of everyone, never pushy. Tolerant and accommodating of the vendors along the way but protective of the tour group at the same time with loads of advice. The Nubian village tour was fantastic. It constantly exceeded my expectations as there was another little surprise around every corner of the trip. I’d hate to ruin this for future tours so will say no more except that it’s one not to miss. Ahmed’s knowledge of Egyptology was exceptional and I learned loads. The temple tours were all amazing and each new one surpassed the last. Four nights and three days, so short but we did so much and met such lovely people that it seemed longer and we were sad to part and go our separate way. The boat trip was very comfortable and clean. From the very first moment, all the crew was incredibly kind and helpful: cleaning, waiters, reception staff... all always with a smile and willing to help. They were even kind enough to let us stay on board until 5pm, even though check-out was at 8am. The ship itself was great and everything was spotless. The food was, without a doubt, the best we tasted on our entire trip in Egypt: varied and delicious. Also the excursions we took were spectacular.
But the most important thing, and what really made the difference, was our guide Ahmed. He is an exceptional person. From the first day he was charming, attentive and always concerned about our well-being. He surprised us with little details like buying us water, and thanks to him we even enjoyed a suite, although we had booked a normal room. His explanations during the visits were exciting, clear and very interesting. He was always willing to help us in everything we needed, making us feel accompanied and cared for at every moment. Also, while other guides on the cruise went with a large group of people, we were only 4 people, which made our experience more familiar and comfortable.
From the bottom of my heart: thank you, Ahmed! I wish you had been our guide for the entire trip in Egypt, because your dedication and care made this experience even more special.

The itinerary included visits to essential sites in Egypt, which made it possible to see the highlights in a short time without it feeling rushed. Also, throughout the trip I felt very safe, which is important when visiting a country for the first time.
Overall, it was an unforgettable and very well organized experience that I would recommend without any hesitation.

The tour guides were extremely knowledgeable about Egypt and very accommodating to any requests that were asked of them. Even certain requests that needed to be done on short notice were done with no complaints with a big smile.

I travelled with my wife and two children aged 17 and 14 and we all got something from this trip and for those worried about conflicts in the Middle East we saw and heard nothing about them and felt very safe and secure on this whole trip. Very warm in July, we got up to about 43 degrees Celsius on the cruise but the advantages are less queues for the attractions. Our two guides, Sohaila in Cairo and Ahmed for the cruise, were extremely knowledgeable and enjoyable to listen to. Definitely would recommend this trip.
Only side notes are the attractions aren’t covered in the price of the holiday and are settled when you arrive at the first hotel, tips are paid in advance for the whole trip but everyone still expects you to pay at the time too so you have to either be hard or give a bit more each time, and I would recommend upgrading to flights from Cairo to Aswan instead of the train as we were told the train can often be delayed and take up to 17 hours with no Wi-Fi or anything to entertain you and also upgrade to a flight at the end from Hurghada to Cairo. We had a miscommunication and thought the bus trip from Hurghada to Cairo was about 5 hours but it is actual more like 9-10 hours from hotel to airport. Otherwise try to fly out from Hurghada itself if that is the end of your trip. ?

I would definitely recommend this tour, and am amazed at how safe the whole experience felt.

For example, our flight was delayed, which prevented us from taking an afternoon tour. We were immediately reassured that we would see everything, and they even went the extra mile for us.
It was an exceptional trip, perhaps as grandiose as you'd imagine. You'll see wonders, spend time on boats at sunset. Probably one of the most beautiful trips we've ever taken. The tour took place from June 23 to 29, and it was hot, especially in Luxor. But very bearable in Cairo. From July onwards, it's perhaps a little too presumptuous.
In short, it's a magnificent cruise, with solid, efficient supervision, and you'll be relieved of a great deal of mental work, provided you're at least comfortable taking a tour in English. Rest assured, it's very accessible.
Beware, however: the pace can be brisk for the faint-hearted, especially the visit to Abu Simbel, which starts at 3.30 a.m., and takes 3.5 hours to get there and back. But it's all worth it?
A word of clarification: at first, we wanted to take the train. But the team advised us against it, because standards are not the same as in France. In the end, we took their advice. It still cost us a lot of money (unforeseen expenses) because we had 2 round-trip tickets.
BUT: the price of the tickets also included the 2-night hotel stay. In Luxor, we stayed in a magnificent hotel on the banks of the Nile. Magnificent sunset and colors, professional and pleasant staff, very fair prices at the restaurant.
In retrospect, if we hadn't taken the plane, we'd have missed out on that night in Luxor, as well as the next day (our flight was at 8.25pm), which was clearly the icing on the cake.
Go for it, it's safe and supervised. Yes, you'll sometimes be asked for tips (and even then, this is avoided to the max by the guides) and yes, you'll pay more for things than they cost, but that's also the folklore of the country and of tourism.

The organisation started before the trip had begun, with clear instructions and answers to our questions via the site, per email and eventually whatsapp. Once we were in country, our timetable was given daily on the afternoon before. It was really well structured and everyone was on time all the time.
We had a group (dubbed "my family" by our tour guide :) ) of seven people and the bus / van we were moved about in to the locations was comfortable, safely driven. The Nile boat we were on had a large and comfortable room. It had a small but cold (which is important if the weather is 42o!) swimming pool on top.
The breakfast buffet at the Swiss Inn Resorts (for some reason we were the only ones staying at the Swiss Inn Hotel, about a 5 minute walk from the Resorts) in Giza was spectacular. The food on board the boat was excellent. Unfortunately the same could not be said of the food at the Iberotel Casa del Mar resort in Hurghada, where the food at the buffet was not particularly good. Considering we'd just had great food everywhere, that was a bit jarring. I would have liked to be able to upgrade my hotel experience in Hurghada.
Our tour guides Sohaila in Giza and Cairo and Ahmed from Aswan were knowledgeable and fun and more than willing and able to answer questions, take pictures, etc.
I was traveling with my 14 year old daughter and we both loved walking like an Egyptian. The facilities were generally great, the organisation was solid, relilable and Mohamed (the organiser) was always able to answer questions fairly quickly via Whatsapp and accomodate requests (we stayed in Hurghada for an extra day instead of flying back to Cairo and flew back home from there). The guides were excellent. The advantage of going in June is that it is low season, so you have plenty of space to see the sights, but you do have to accept that it can get seriously hot. Fortunately there is good air conditioning and a cold swimming pool.
For some reason tourists seem to be worried about the Israeli aggression and are cancelling trips to Egypt. Gaza (which is not Giza!) is quite a way away - there is the whole Sinai peninsula in between and the tourist police take their jobs seriously. We felt very safe whilst we were there.
If you get the chance to tick off this bucket list item, we can recommend Holidays in Egypt to do it with.

The good:
-Mohammed, the owner of the tour, is very responsive and will take good care of you. You may even receive complimentary upgrades at times.
-Sohaila was our tour guide for the Cairo portion. She is possibly one of my favorite people I’ve met in my travels across the world. She was extremely knowledgeable, patient with our group, anuthentic in her perspectives, and even open to hearing our perspectives as we were talking through the Egyptian history. I appreciated that because I’m the type that loves Egyptian history and talk for hours if I could.
-Ahmed was our tour guide for a majority of the trip and he was also great. He did his very best to make sure we were safe, happy, and provide Egyptian knowledge without being overwhelming. If he could make your experience better, he was going to go out of his way to atleast try. Even with things that may not be his job. I truly appreciated that.
-the room on the cruise ship was nice, and the food was fairly good for the most part. Maybe 8/10. The cruise ship also felt safe and secure.
The bad:
- the itinerary for the trip is jam packed, especially if you book any of the optional portions…so therefore if you get delayed in ANYTHING, then the rest of the trip will be impacted. Ultimately, it will feel rushed and the value of your experience will go down. They will try to make up for it if they can, but they can’t add more time in the day.
- another thing about the itinerary, you really don’t get clarity about each day until the day of, or the last minute. It’s not always clear what the plan is.
- this part is NOT completely the tour company’s fault so I didn’t add this is the star rating… you CANNOT go anywhere, including the cruise ship, without people looking for a tip. You pay an upfront tip to Mohammed to cover tips for your experience, but still people will directly ask you for tips for even the most basic of things. I’m adding this portion mostly for the person who has never traveled to Egypt. Please account for this when you budget for your experience. You will need to be ready to tip on top of the amount you provide the tour company for tips. It’s simply part of the culture.
We booked this tour for our honeymoon, enticed by it being listed as 5 star. Unfortunately, the experience started on a disappointing note. It was dated and underwhelming- especially after coming from Mena House, which delivered a true 5-star experience. The food at Swiss Inn was so poor that we ended up ordering delivery on our second night.
Things picked up with our first guide, Sohaila, an Egyptologist who took us through the Pyramids of Giza and the Egyptian Museum. She was knowledgeable, kind, and the tour itself was well-organised.
We then flew to Aswan, where we met our guide Hassan. He was fantastic! funny, engaging, and paced the tour to suit the group. Unfortunately, shortly after we boarded the Nile cruise, Hassan experienced a health issue and was replaced by another guide, Ahmed.
Before the tour, we were promised a complimentary room upgrade on the cruise in celebration of our honeymoon. Instead, we received a standard room with twin beds—not ideal. When I raised this with Ahmed, he told us we could pay to upgrade, despite me showing him an email confirming the complimentary upgrade. He repeatedly dismissed my concerns, was trying to gaslight me, stating I had already received an upgrade when I clearly had not and eventually said, "I'm just the tour guide." It felt dismissive and frustrating.
Ahmed’s style of guiding was much less patient. He would rush ahead, often leaving behind elderly or slower guests. While he was never rude to us directly, he had several visible outbursts at others, including security personnel. It often felt like he didn’t want to be there, perhaps due to being called in last-minute.
The next day, he addressed the group and said he was not just a tour guide but he was also responsible for our safety and enjoyment- this felt tone-deaf given how he had handled our concerns the day before.
Thankfully, when I contacted Mohamed, the tour organiser, via WhatsApp, the room issue was resolved promptly. Mohamed was approachable, helpful, and always quick to assist.
The Nile cruise itself was lovely. The rooftop with its pool, sun lounges, and cabanas- was where we spent most of our free time. My only criticism is that service could be slow at times, and vegetarian/vegan hot meal options were limited.
After the cruise, we stayed at the Steigenberger Nile Palace in Luxor, which was truly fabulous. This hotel delivered a genuine 5-star experience and was a wonderful way to end our tour.
Despite a few setbacks, the historic sites were incredible and well-explained—an unforgettable experience overall. I would still recommend this tour, especially for the once-in-a-lifetime chance to explore such a beautiful and historic country.

The service from all the guides throughout the tour was first class and all spoke excellent English.
The Nile cruise was such a great experience with a great balance of relaxing and enjoying cruising along the Nile and stopping off and visiting the sites of ancient Egypt. Again our guide was a fully trained Egyptologist and his knowledge really added to the experience and brought the story of Egypt to life. The cruise boat had a great selection of international and local food for all meals and the staff really went above and beyond.
Could not recommend the tour enough especially for people like us who were visiting Egypt for the first time.

We were waited on hand and food and barely needed to lift a finger for anything. The boat was comfy and luxurious, the food was incredible, so much variety and all to a very high standard. Pool on the roof top deck with a bar with reasonably priced drinks. A few fun theme nights where the staff let their hair down was also really fun.
The sites we visited, took my breath away, we always had excellent transportation everywhere, either high-end, comfy airconed minibuses, or amazing traditional boats. Everything always taken care of by the guide, we felt like vips the entire time.
Our Guide Ahmed Kessam was exceptional, his knowledge and passion for ancient Egypt shone through in his stories and he really made the trip special.
At no point in this trip did i ever think i was in any danger, yes there are a lot of people trying to sell you things at different sights, but the guide is a local and will tell you whats worth spending your money on and what isn't. Its no problems politely declining and you're quickly left alone. There is nothing more troublesome than that. Most of the locals are very friendly and kind people who just want to share their culture with you.
We added on the nubian village and abu simbel and i would highly recommend doing these add ons. They were such a good experience, and far exceeded the small additional cost.
I would not normally go for this type of holiday, but I think i will always look for a package similar to this for future excursions... I didn't think i could learn so much about egypt's vast history in just 5 days.

One thing I truly appreciated was being part of a small group of only six people it made the entire experience much more personal and intimate.
Each transfer between cities was punctual and seamless. Egypt is simply magical—its culture, history, and the kindness of its people left me deeply amazed. It’s a destination that transforms you.
I’d like to highlight the outstanding work of the team: the drivers were always attentive and respectful. Sohaila Fuad, our guide in Cairo, guided us with beautiful energy and an impressive knowledge of Egyptian history. And most of all, I want to thank Ahmed Kassem, our main guide throughout most of the tour. From Aswan to Hurghada, Ahmed was always present, explaining with clarity and patience, respecting our pace, and making us feel truly safe. His guidance made all the difference.
One of the most emotional moments of the trip was thanks to him: being among the first to enter the Temple of Horus. Experiencing it in silence and emptiness was a real gift—an image and feeling that I will cherish forever.

One thing we didn’t like about the cruise was that there were additional costs that weren’t clearly explained at the time of booking. We were also not informed beforehand that tipping is a cultural norm in Egypt and expected almost everywhere. While we understand and respect that, it was uncomfortable not knowing whether the tips were actually reaching the people who provided us with direct service.
Overall, it would have been much better to have all of this information clearly communicated in advance, so we could make an informed decision with the full costs in mind.

I would especially like to highlight our guides. Ahmed Kassem was a genius, he accompanied us all the time, explained each temple clearly and gave us just enough time to enjoy and learn without rushing. And also a huge thanks to Sohaila Fuad, who was super attentive, always concerned that we were well, and with an impressive knowledge. She explained everything in a very clear and pleasant way, you could tell she knew a lot.
I would also like to thank the drivers, who always had the best vibe and made us feel comfortable and safe during the whole tour.

The tour guides were knowledgeable and appropriately interactive. Special mention to Ahmed Kassem, in Luxor and Aswan, and Suhaila, in Cairo. Muhammad, the overseer, was always responsive and proactive to fix any potential problem or clarify arrangements.
The temples at Luxor and Aswan are of a scale and quality that needs to be seen to be believed. Visit them with this group and you will not be disappointed. The Valley of the Kings was special, visiting the actual tombs, and even seeing Tutankhamen’s mummy up close.
We had three nights in Hurghada at a resort. This was the perfect way to finish our trip, with high quality accommodation, beach access and all food and drinks covered. I suggest you include this leg in your booking.

Our journey began with a seamless flight from Cairo to Aswan, where we were warmly welcomed and transferred directly to a beautiful cruise ship on the Nile. The cruise itself was fantastic — the rooms were spacious, clean, and very comfortable, offering the perfect blend of relaxation and luxury. The food on board was consistently delicious, with a wide variety of dishes that catered to different tastes, and the service was always attentive and friendly.
Throughout the trip, we had the opportunity to visit a range of breathtaking historical sites. Highlights included the awe-inspiring temples of Abu Simbel, as well as numerous tombs and ancient monuments along the Nile. Each stop was carefully selected and expertly timed, allowing us to explore without feeling rushed or overwhelmed.
A huge part of what made this tour so special was our guide, Ahmed Kassam. I fractured my right ankle. i must tell you how well our tour guide Ahmed Kassem took care of me, He never left my side, arrange all the transportation to and from the ship, to the doctor, to the pharmacy; arrange our flight back from Luxor to Cairo and make sure that a wheelchair was available. He coordinated with the owner of the company and paid all expenses for the vans, doctors, medications and supply, flight back to Cairo. We never felt abandoned and make sure we could arrange an early flight back home. My husband and I are forever grateful to have been taken care so well. Thank you

The company was kind and generous, they delivered on what they promised, and threw in some very much appreciated complementary perks - we finished the tour early on the last day and were invited out for dinner for example. After the tour we moved on to Hurghada by bus on our own, and Ahmed organised a pick up and transfer for us to our accommodation for free, which was hugely appreciated.
The cruise was lovely, our room was fabulous, the food was tasty, and the pool was very nice. The only downside wad that we had to pay for water and wifi, which we felt should have been provided for free. Other than that, the trip was amazing, and I would definitely recommend doing it to get a good feel for Egypt - there’s so much more to see here than the Pyramids!

I was concerned & disappointed & decided to sit on a bench in front of the departures exit with the other drivers waiting to pick up their guests. Frequently checking the signs for my name or tour operator, I decided to re-enter the departures terminal to speak to staff who told me to go back outside & wait, now getting worried no phone connection, no contact available, the airport taxi co pointed out that it was their major holiday (Ramadan) so the driver probably will not arrive, so I accepted to pay for the ride to the hotel it was £50 a rip off.
(I was told the driver picked up the 2nd passenger & all was ok, NOBODY was waiting with a sign either with my name or the company name on it) The accommodation & tour was good, the guides knowledgeable & accommodating no fault there, the taxi pickups were bad, My upgrade on the last day was a disaster, instead of 15 hours on the overnight train, 2 chose to fly, the plan was to arrive in the evening, relax get fed, have a long goodnight sleep, wake up refreshed to fly home the next day, we had a late evening flight which was eventually delayed, (we should have had a early flight even after the delay would have arrived before midnight) arrived in Cairo about midnight trying to contact the taxi driver, he was not at the exit (again) he phoned me but couldn't speak good English, wi-fi was bad confusion we were in 2 distant locations, eventually a airport worker copied his number, spoke to him in Arabic gave our location, he came picked us up,( if I was a lone female or on my own with limited wi-fi etc without the intervention of the airport personnel it would be very scary) the 1st drop-off was close, a near by airport hotel, mine was a long drive back to Giza, I arrived after 2am got to bed about 2.30am a few hours sleep awake for breakfast before a long day to fly home, NOT IMPRESSED, contacted the tour manager he made the usual excuses, reading from a script full of clichés they have my monies, I am back home & powerless, I would not recommend this company positively to anyone , I would expect a refund of 1/2 the taxi fare from the airport to the hotel & 1/2 the upgrade fee from Luxor to Cairo, but I am not going to hold my breath in anticipation.

I really liked that the company let us customize the tour and add things at the end, and you could opt out of some things. They were very informative & easy to understand. Ahmed especially is a great story teller & really creates a great mood. They really helped to bond the group together as well . Sohaila was with us for the Giza & Cairo tour then we met Ahmed after flying to Aswan. He was with us then for the remainder of the tour. I think flying to Aswan was a better idea than the long train journey which one of our group did. All the sites were amazing but at times very busy especially on the cruise where all the boats arrive to sites around the same time. We had the unfortunate issue of one person in our group falling over & breaking their ankle & Ahmed handled the situation incredibly well by ensuring that they received medical care very quickly. Some of the days were very long meaning very early starts which meant that having breakfast before you left was impossible & the breakfast boxes that were supplied were not good. The hotels & the cruise boat were excellent. We did the tour to Dendera at the end of the tour with Ahmed & it was one of the highlights for us. There were no crowds & the temple is the best preserved that we saw. We highly recommend this tour.

The accommodations was excellent. Stayed at the Greenland hotel in God's and the Radamis cruise ship was very nice.
Food was outstanding and plenty of it.
You should come prepared for lots of walking on uneven surfaces in very warm weather. The evenings were cool enough to were a light jacket and a small umbrella would be a good choice for Sun shade when doing Abu Simbel
and the Pryamids/Sphinx.
I could not have been more happy with our group and Holiday in Egypt Tours. I highly recommend them.

I also paid extra on the pyramid tour (1,500 LE) and (2,700LE) at the Valley of the king if I want to see what is not included.
I think it is down to the one who make the iternary.They have to make it clear on what is covered or not covered.

While we had some initial nerves about traveling there, we quickly felt at ease thanks to our incredible tour guides, who were welcoming, knowledgeable, and supportive throughout. At no point did we feel unsafe—in fact, we felt completely taken care of.
Cairo was an unforgettable introduction to the country. The energy of 25 million people is something you have to experience to believe. Our visit to the Great Pyramids and the Sphinx was a powerful moment—especially being able to go inside one of the pyramids, which was a deeply moving experience.
We opted for the overnight train to Aswan, which we were both curious and excited about after watching several travel videos. It turned out to be a highlight! There were guards on board, the sleeping compartments were comfortable, the food was surprisingly good, and the Nile views from the train were beautiful. Having a tour rep meet us at the station and help us onto the correct train and compartment made the process completely stress-free.
In Aswan, we met our wonderful guide Ahmed, who stayed with us for the rest of the journey. I can’t say enough good things about him—his passion and knowledge made the sites come alive. Our Nile cruise on the Nile Story was top-notch, with stunning views, wonderful meals and visits to breathtaking temples along the way. We ended our adventure with a few relaxing days in Hurghada, which was the perfect way to unwind after such an incredible journey.

My only issue was how early we had to wake up each day (between 3:30am - 6:30am) and also how late dinner is served 8pm each night (for most cultures this is normal but not for us Aussies). We did the hot air balloon and Abu Simbel extra tours and highly recommend doing both of these!

We felt safe during all the trip thanks to their organization, and enjoyed the beauty of Egypt as much as we could have. The organization is very flexible, so if you change your mind and decide to finally book some optional trip they'll change your program easily (by the way you should try the hot air balloon trip which offers and amazing view to Louxor and its temples).

He was very helpful and very versed in Egypt history. He went out of his way to accommodate us. Provided breakfast and food in hotels and ship was very good. Our guide Ahmed went above and beyond to make our trip incredible. He’s organized, has very deep knowledge of Egyptian history, was accommodating and flexible with the variety of people in our group (5 of us that ranged in ages and dietary restrictions) and overall, was just fun to be around. Ahmed and the Holiday in Egypt boat crew had the timing perfect for the temples. We’d arrive before the bigger crowds and finish before the major rushes of the day, making it easier to absorb all the info and take pics before it got crazy crowded.
My boyfriend’s birthday was on the last day of the tour, so Ahmed helped organize a birthday cake and song for him on the last night of dinner. We had a late flight out of Luxor, leaving a gap between when the tour ended and when we’d go to the airport, and he organized for us to have a place on the boat to relax and cleanup before the flight, and for a car to take us to the airport. It was the little and big details that Ahmed and the boat crew paid attention to that made the trip so meaningful and enjoyable. Thank you all again!

After flying to Aswan we met with our new guide, Ahmed Kassem who was in charge of us until the end of our tour. He was great, very knowledgeable and helpful as well. The only complaint we have is the scheduling of the cruise ships and sites, they do not follow a specific timeline which led to us starting at 5 am one day to check out a temple, needing to be back to the ship by 7. Our ship did not end up leaving until after 8 and then we sat at the lock waiting to get through for 5 hours and led to us not visiting another site the entire rest of that day (we were supposed to see 2 more temples), we just spent it on the cruise ship. The following day our guide had to make up the previous itinerary as well as still do that day's activities. He did a great job trying to balance everything and make sure we still got to see all of the sites but is not what we were expecting. Most of the temples you stop at you do not get a lot of free time it feels very rushed. Getting 30 mins to an hour to walk around and enjoy by yourself is short, especially when the sites are so busy. We made it work and still enjoyed our time but wish visiting sites was a little longer. The food, the guides, the ship and the hotels were all amazing :)

The guides ( Sue and Ahmed) were will versed in the history of Egypt and staff at the hotels and ship were pleasant, helpful, accommodating and respectful. Someone was injured on the trip. Ahmed took charge of the situations handling the group that was with him and the group back at the ship. He stayed with the injured person making certain they got proper medical care. He did a great job in this situation. If I ever got hurt on a trip I would want to have a caring capable person like him at my side. One of the passengers on our ship Radamis II had a death in the family in Luxor. The ship pulled to the side at the locks and let him off the ship so he could join the family. Plus the ship also took good care of the injured person as did Ahmed on the ship. Plus to put the icing on the cake the group was made up of some fantastic and interesting people who not only shared this adventure but other one they have had the good fortune to take. Luckily we were a small group of 8 that allowed for a very personalized trip. The boat the Ramses 2 was older but very good for what we needed. Staff onboard were incredibly friendly and kept everything clean. Food was plentiful- it is not gourmet but was great value for the price we paid.
Only improvements I would make - were communication with the company before the cruise and clarity over the optional tours. A number within our party had wanted to get to Cairo early after the tour but the company would not give us the flight details until a couple of nights before the end of the trip. This meant everybody had to stay a night at a hotel at the airport rather than just going to their next destination which could easily have happened if only the company had not wanted people to take the optional tours.

Going to break it down in categories:
Transfers/Transport: always on time and clean vehicles.
Weather: Chilly early mornings and late evenings. Pleasant in the day.
Cruise ship: very clean ship Radamis 2. Friendly staff.
Tour: very detailed and informative tour.
Tour Guide: Ahmed was excellent from GO. VERY VERY thoughtful of everyone’s needs; checking in with our group at every point. He even organised a surprise cake for me. The information he provided on this tour was very good. He also arranged for us to go and relax on the ship whilst we waited for the flight. Very thoughtful and caring. I would highly recommend a tour with Ahmed.
Sights visited: Philae Temple, Kom Ombo Temple, Edfu Temple, The Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut Temple, Karnak Temple and Luxor Temple.
Flights: Cairo to Aswan was booked at 09:45 … good timing. However Luxor to Cairo was booked at 21:30 (delayed to 22:30) which I think is very late when our tour finished around 17:00 after a very early start. Return flight was only booked a day before tour ended. This is the only criticism for the tour operator. I had paid in full 2 months before and it was non refundable 21 days before tour start date. Had they booked the flight 21 days before we could have got an earlier flight which was at 20:00. Last thing we needed was waiting around to get a flight after a very long day.

The food options were buffet style and all of good quality with numerous choices of European style dishes. There were soups, salads, main course dishes and deserts for both lunch and dinner. Breakfast offered a good choice with omelet, pastries, fresh fruit, cereals, yoghurt etc which were all good, plus tea or coffee. Drinks are not included otherwise but are not at all expensive.
Ahmed Kassem's knowledge of Ancient Egyptian history, his organisation skills and care and attention were all excellent.
I unfortunately had an accident and needed urgent hospital care which he sorted out and stayed with us at the hospital until done, even dealing with the hospital staff to ensure everything was OK, which in our opinion was way above and beyond his normal duties. He is amazing in a crisis and we were very grateful to have him helping us even though my husband is native Egyptian.
You can rest assured that in the unfortunate event you have a problem, he will be giving his all to get it sorted out. He is an all round great guy!
We heard that people seem concerned that Egypt is not a safe country to visit. All I can say is that having visited Egypt dozens of times and never felt unsafe, my most recent visit was no different and I felt as safe here as I would anywhere in Europe. Additionally, there is security everywhere but in a way that doesn't make you feel uncomfortable or at risk at all.

They were very prompt with every pick up time. We never waited around wondering what was coming next.
The ship Le Fayan II has nice accommodations. The room was spacious with a sitting area next to the large widow. Bed was comfortable, bathroom/ shower always had hot water and good water pressure. Everything was very clean. The staff was wonderful, very gracious and welcoming. The food was not only very good but the variety was incredible. The upper deck has plenty of seating both in and out of the sun.
Our personal guide was Ahmed Kassem who arranged all transportation (which was always clean and comfortable)and tickets making sure everything ran smoothly and on time. We never waited for a ride to show up, or waited in a long line to get into a site. We can't say enough good things about him. We were a small group of 4 and he referred to us as "My family", which was unique since none of us knew each other. However, by the end of the trip we felt like family!!! Ahmed made the ancient Egyptian culture come to life with his extensive knowledge of the history, the kingdom eras, the gods and goddesses, pharaohs, their wives, children, power struggles, murders and the list goes on. So from Karnak to Abu Simbel, he connected, in historical context, each temple and how it related to what was happening in the country at that time. He was able to explain what the symbols on the walls of the temple's mean and the story they were telling. He pointed out interesting facts like identifying specific carvings that were only seen in that one place in all of Egypt. He explained the meaning of the multiple different crowns the pharaohs wore in each scene and why, the purpose for each room or hall. So Ahmed made the trip more than just looking at one temple after another after another, it was an education in the life of ancient Egypt. After his explanation we always had free time to explore the site ourselves which was great for taking pictures. We were never rushed. We also had free time at each docking location to explore the surroundings. We felt safe walking the streets as the Egyptians are a very welcoming, friendly people. This was an experience we thoroughly enjoyed-every minute of it! I highly recommend Holiday In Egypt and especially Ahmed Kassem as your giide.

We then travelled by plane to Aswan and were met at the airport by our other tour guide Ahmed Kassem, he took us to Philea temple and showed us around the site, we then travelled to the cruise ship and got checked in. After lunch we checked out some local spots and that night my wife and I did the Nubian village additional tour. Our cruise ship was very clean and the food on board was very good. Ahmed took me a on all the tours from Aswan until the end of our trip, he was very patient with our group and always stopped to ask and make sure everyone was doing okay while out on the tours as we had a wide range of ages and physical conditions in our group. Overall both tour guides we had were amazing and couldn’t recommend this tour more. We did every additional add on as we don’t know if we will return here again being from Canada it was a long trip here. This meant we had a lot of early mornings but it was well worth it to us in order to see all that we could while we were here. Upgrade and skip the overnight train journey if you can, it is not a pleasant ride. Also, be sure to take the hot air balloon ride and ask for details about the other extra trips as they have hidden gems in their that you can easily miss!

Sure there were hustlers selling you things at every tourist site but our guide Ahmed was with us every moment and went above and beyond to ensure our experience was comfortable and the best time. We did not at any moment feel unsafe. Egypt has its own time, our domestic flights were badly delayed and there is minimal guideance at the airport, however Ahmed ensured this did not impact any part of our itinerary (even though this wasn't his fault at all). Of all the countries we have visited on this trip (lots of Europe), Egypt is the place I am dying to go back to and would highly recommend to anyone who asks. The sites and the history we saw was unlike anything I have seen or will ever see again in my life. Thank you so much to Ahmed and Egypt Holidays for easing my nerves and providing us with the trip of a lifetime, we will be back!

On the contrary, young school children seemed delighted to have a conversation with me and even ask for pictures with me! Everyone was welcoming, and friendly. I felt safer here than I would most places in the USA.
There is no way I could have seen everything I saw on this tour, on my own. From the meeting at the airport to the transfers and wonderful customer service from Mustafa, this was one of the most enjoyable tours I’ve taken in a long time. It’s a fast paced itinerary no doubt, but there’s no wasted time and every move is well thought out and planned. My guide in Cairo Souhaila was a wonderful, thoughtful, friendly and genuinely knowledgeable person, that brought both the old city of Cairo as well as the Pyramids, alive!
For the cruise, our guide Ahmed Kassem was absolutely perfect and the ship was gorgeous, with a massive stateroom, amazing air conditioning, a beautiful sun deck and pool, and genuinely helpful and friendly crew. Before arriving to the cruise, I ran into an issue at the airport on my flight to Aswan, from Cairo and called Ahmed early in the morning. He did not bat an eye and straightened everything out with the airline, ensuring I didn’t miss the cruise. I’ve learned so much about the history and culture of Egypt, I truly felt like I was on an expedition! Ahmed was accommodating, personable and friendly and explained everything with genuine expertise. You can tell he loves his job.
Finally the last day in Hurghada was absolutely incredible! The resort we were put up in is beyond gorgeous, with amazing food, incredible staff and a great location next to the beach. I could t have asked for more.

As a woman in my 20s traveling solo, I felt completely safe throughout my time in Egypt. Despite concerns about safety in some parts of the Middle East, Egypt is a wonderful destination that offers incredible value for money, welcoming people, fascinating places to explore, and plenty of opportunities to relax.
I chose to explore Cairo independently, but I’m so glad I booked this Nile cruise for the next leg of my journey. Ahmed Kassem crafted a fantastic itinerary, balancing iconic sights with unique local experiences. You can customise your itinerary to fit in as much/little as you like, but I highly recommend seeing it all: Abu Simbel, the Nubian Village, and Luxor hot air balloon ride were all highlights in their own right alongside the ancient sights at Aswan, Kom Ombo, Edfu and Luxor.

We had a very knowledgeable, passionate and experienced guide Ahmed Kassem that went to great lengths to make sure we got the best from every place we visited. We had activities with other companies too such as hot air balloning (a must do) and those were also well organised and coordinated by Ahmed with pick-up times clearly communicated. We also booked a private tour for a day with driver Bob who showed us the hidden gems of Cairo. The tour organiser was always very responsive on WhatsApp to answer any questions or concerns. Ahmed Kassem was our guide, he was very passionate and knowledgeable about Egypt's history, it was very enjoyable having him leading our tour.
The only downside and it's not a big deal it's the Wifi, 10$ a day seems excessive and the wifi doesn't even reach the rooms.
Keep in mind that you will have very early mornings to see the magnificent places Egypt has to offer.
The itinerary and places visited were absolutely 10 out of 10. I have no regrets about the early wake-ups and would definitely do it again via cruise if given the chance.

Our guide, Ahmed Kassem, made the experience even better. He is incredibly knowledgeable and provided detailed explanations of every site.
Both Luxor and Aswan felt very safe and relaxed, especially compared to Cairo. While locals can be a little pushy in trying to sell items (but a simple no thank you I already bought it will suffice), our guide helped navigate these situations smoothly.

The Cons: With itineraries being nearly identical across all the cruises, popular sites can become very very crowded.
Meals were often spent with the tour group, which limited opportunities for personal time (we did great friend btw, but you might get stuck with somebody you don't like much!).
Unfortunately, we were grouped with someone who constantly berated vendors, lashed out at staff, and menaced she was not going to tip over minor elements. This behavior not only diminishes the experience for others but also reflects poorly on travelers as a whole. Please dont be an entitled tourist, stay home otherwise.
Some extra notes for the tourist if this is your first time in egypt (or even if is not!):
Please avoid using the horse carriages in Cairo/Aswan/Luxor. The horses are often in very poor condition, visibly malnourished, and mistreated. Do not be part of this cruelty, remember laws might not protect animals like back home.

‘Holiday in Egypt’ offered an itinerary suitable for all ages and were accomodating to us in all situations.
Our tour guides Nur and Ahmed were superb. They went above and beyond to make sure our little family were well taken care of through the trip. Both were friendly, well informed, kind, efficient and just absolutely wonderful. Travelling with a little one can be difficult at the best of times, but it felt effortless under the care of our guides. We cannot thank them both enough.
Egypt itself was safe and the people were friendly to us at all times. I cannot recommend this adventure of a lifetime more and hope to visit again one day.

On all the trips we were in spacious minivans with air conditioning and the guide for us. We were with Ahmed, an exceptional guide, as a person and as a professional. He told us the story in a fairly concise way and was always willing to explain to us all the history we wanted, even in his free time. He was very professional. The cruise was great, the rooms were very clean and we loved the meals, with vegetarian options, everything fresh… we were very very happy, totally recommended!

Not a lot of cruising. Be aware that you will be tied up next to other boats for the first and last night, and with all the diesel fumes (the motors run all night), you can't enjoy your room balcony or view. There was really only one pleasant afternoon of cruising where you could watch Egype go by.
All the sights were great, but our guide talked too much about the family tree of the King/Queens. He should learn that some people just want to walk around quitely by themselves. Ourselves and several others walked off while he was talking.
The two night cruise probable would have been better, allowing us to do Philae Temple and Abu Simbel (a 6-7 hour drive) by ourselves.
Overall the trip was excellent...ship and food were great, cost reasonable, and sites were amazing. Only suggestion is to spend less time explaining, and more time exploring.

The day before arriving at the ship we got an E-Mail, that we got upgraded on another ship. The ship was fanatastic with very modern and clean cabins and common areas. The food wath great with a huge varietey of warm and cold, vegetarian und meat options. The service was the best we experienced in all over Egypt.
Although you could expect certain security issues becuase of the current situation in middel east, Egypt is a very safe country. Besides that Nil cruiese we were travelling the country alone and never felt anywhere threatened or even worried. The Egyptians are lovely, kind and welcoming people. While walking through the streets - doesn't matter where in Egypt - people even shout "welcome and to egypt" and give you a big smile. Travelling through Egypt with tour or on your own ist my big recomondation. When chossing a Tour, chosse a Nile cruise with Holiday in Egypt. They are very fair and the offer ist great.

The entire trip was perfectly organized, giving us a sense of comfort and safety throughout.
The crew on board was exceptionally friendly and courteous. Everyone made sure our stay was as enjoyable as possible. Another highlight was the incredible view from the ship's deck – the Nile and its surroundings are breathtaking and offer pure relaxation.
The food on board was excellent, with a great variety of dishes, all freshly prepared. The rooms were very clean and cozy, and we always felt safe and well cared for during the entire journey. At no point did we ever feel that anything could go wrong.
We spent a total of 11 days in Egypt and never felt unsafe at any time. On the contrary, it was clear that great care is taken to ensure the safety of tourists, which was very reassuring.
In summary, it was a perfect vacation that everyone should experience at least once. We would gladly take a Nile cruise again and highly recommend it to anyone!

The operator Holiday in Egypt had thought of everything, was so incredibly responsive to every request and question and made sure we were totally looked after every step of the way. It seemed nothing was too much trouble and we felt 100% safe all the way. The itinerary and accommodate was well thought out and included some great extras like hot air ballooning that we took up and was excellent t in Luxor. There is some down time where we could just relax on the ship as we cruised the Nile that was really appreciated. Maybe the itinerary was a bit too full on some days but just be prepared to skip an outing if you want a rest.
We have done a lot of tours in a lot of countries it I have never seen dedication and service like the guides and team on this tour. The guides were very knowledgeable and taught us so much of the history of each site. Our guide and Ahmed Kassem who was with us for the four days on the cruise was amazing and truely went far and beyond. Managing us through every element of the tour, on call 24 hours and making sure every detail from lost medication to 4am transfers weee looked after. Accomodation was above our expectations for the price of the tour, Clean and fresh. Were were well forewarned about the overnight train being an “experience “ which it was, but given the option to upgrade to a flight which we did in the way back.
Highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to discover egypt stress free at a good price point.
