  We were not sure what to expect as we had read some troubling reviews online about crowding and noise. Overall we would give this cruise high marks. Our tour group through Tour Radar was 8 people and a helpful guide who smoothed out any concerns. The facilities, while a bit dated, were in working order. We were greeted each night by a towel animal on the bed. We counted up to 10 cruise ships at the docks, you have to walk through them to get to your ship, but ours was generally one of the first couple. The food was okay, plentiful but not noteworthy. The salads and the desserts were the highlights. There is pretty much no entertainment at night, but we were tired after the tours. In a country where every hand is out for tips, the ship policy of just changing you up front was actually helpful. The staff was friendly. Concerns about diesel fuel smells and noise at night actually was not a problem. Do be careful when walking down the walkway at the port, lots of people out to seperate tourists from their money with a range of schemes and stories.Show more

  We had an amazing experience and would highly recommend! Our guide Ahmed Awad was extremely knowledgeable and taught us lots about the monuments we visited. The excursions were well planned, we were picked up on time in a private car and taken to the different monuments. Our guide Ahmed knew exactly how to get the most out of our tour, taking us past ques and showing us hidden areas with interesting history. Thanks a lot Ahmed!Show more

  Our guide Ahmed was amazing - he truly went above and beyond for us. The trip was well organised. The boat was nice and clean, although the AC didn't work in my room - even on heating it just blew cold air and my room was permanently at 17°C. The food was decent, although not a huge variety. It would have been good if there was free water, but I'm glad coffee was free in the morning (there's no kettle in the room). My only major complaint (and why I gave 4 stars instead of 5) is that I thought booking flights through the operator would make things stress free, but 48hrs before leaving I still didn't have details. It took asking 4 times in 1 day to finally get them (each time I was told they would get back to me soon, or by the end of the day - I finally messaged at 6pm and they sent them through).Show more

  This tour far exceeded our expectations in virtually every way. Tamer was a fantastic guide who was friendly yet firm when necessary. He made sure we were on schedule and had time to explore sites on our own after the overview tour at each stop. The cruise boat was much nicer than expected (and better appointed than it appears from the outside), and the buffet food was consistently excellent. The food is a good mix of Mediterranean, generic Middle Eastern (think Lebanese), and Egyptian specific food. Lots of healthy and vegetarian options as well. The only thing we would have wanted differently would be time in local markets, and not just pre- chosen/ directed stores that were consistently overpriced- even if the quality was high. Overall, we were thrilled with this tour and HIE (especially Tamer), and would recommend it to friends.Show more

  Overall this tour was a great option if you want everything coordinated for you. Each day was action packed, early morning and evening activities to attempt to beat the heat but there were breaks during the day to rest and after dinner. The cruise allowed us to visit places we might have skipped otherwise. On the cruise itself rooms were clean, staff was accommodating and food was fine. There was a pool on the roof a spa and optional activities planned in the evening although we were mostly too tired to enjoy. We ended up walking through a lot of different cruise ships and they all seemed pretty similar. Hassan, our tour guide, was really awesome. Very knowledgeable, passionate about his country's history and shared personal stories from his experience as a local. He managed all the logistics and told us when & where we needed to be. The spots we went to were all really amazing and he shared the highlights we needed to know before giving us free time to explore. There were some fun surprises along the way and shops we got to stop in for souvenirs. He was very accommodating to our schedules and needs. The tour group was 15 people total which was much nicer and manageable than the larger groups we saw at the sites.Show more
