His storytelling really made it stick with us when giving the history of each site we saw. He was also so accommodating when one of our group members ended up getting sick (unrelated to anything in Egypt, just hit her at the wrong time). Hassan did his best to make her feel included and even added a stop to a local pharmacy to get some medicine for her. He went in and translated for us, and got her medicine. He was a fantastic guide, and you can tell that he really loves what he does. I would wholeheartedly suggest booking a tour with Holiday in Egypt. The one thing that I would be weary about is the Abu Simbel add on. We heard it was an amazing site, so we booked it, however, the 2:45am wake up call, plus the 4 hour drive there and 4 hours back, was not worth it. If that is something you really want to see, go ahead and book it, but if its something you can live without, sleep in. It was a fantastic trip and we really bonded with our group as well.

The restaurant at the Helnan Dreamland Hotel in Giza was probably the best we had on the trip. Our tour guide met us in the evening to give us directions for the tour commencement. The guide was very organized, informative and did her best to keep a large group together. We toured the Plateau of Giza with the pyramids, Syphinx and had lunch across the street from the Sphinx. The tour inside the Grand Egyptian Museum was only a few hours and was much too rushed, considering how many people we in the museum. Days 3 through 8 were disappointing. The tours started way too early in the morning, one day we had to be ready for 4 am for bus ride to Abu Simbel. Needless to say, it was not a vacation. The "5 star" Nile River cruise was definitely not American 5 star. Not sure where the 5 star rating was based on. The boat was old, in need of repairs, dining room was crowded and not laid out well. That really didn't matter much since the food was not that appealing and two of us ended up sick with Egyptian respiratory issues. Missed most meals. By the way, who ever heard that you had to pay for water with your meals? On the Nile River cruise boat, Nile Story it was $1.80 a bottle. The fees that were paid for the drivers, tips, etc. were definitely not all-inclusive as many times you were asked for "Bakshish" by porters and other assistance. Be prepared to give tips for entering into restrooms, so have your small currency available. The planes used for the air transport from Cairo to Aswan and Luxor were the most dilapidated aircraft I've ever been on. Surprised they were even allowed to take off! Considering the price of the trip I should have known there were to be sacrifices, but I had no idea of how many sacrifices.
One item was left on the cruise boat and I asked that it be located and that I would pay postage to have it returned. Needless to say, it's been 2 weeks and item not found or mailed. Surprised, not really. The crew on the ship left much to be desired.
Once other thing, it you have any mobility issues whatsoever, Egypt is not the place for you. Steep narrow stairs, uneven walkways, no handrails, sidewalks that just disappear and drop you into rocks/sand. There should be more warnings about having to maneuver uneven terrain in the dark.
It was a lifelong dream to visit and a bit overwhelming with the schedule of this tour.

The negatives: the boat (Nile Story)was a 4 star effort and definitely not 5 stars. The cabin etc was adequate but not 5 star standard. Similarly with the transport to sights…it was adequate but not 5 star standard. The food was plentiful but boring. I got home with an e-coli infection which presumably was a result of the food. The restaurant staff were excellent. There was no wifi available on board, which in this day and age is unacceptable. Be ready for a lot of early starts…we had to get up at 2.15 am for our flight from Cairo to Luxor.
Conclusion: The tour was definitely worth it and the value for money was quite good, but the description as 5 stars was way over-selling the reality.
This was the perfect cruise, just enough time to sight see. Not too much time on the boat. Hassan, our guide, was phenomenal and would not have wanted anyone else!

The tour itself was truly incredible. Everything was well organised. The experiences I will remember for the rest of my life. All of the accommodation was excellent, and the food was fantastic authentic Egyptian cuisine.

It was a really great experience, the boat is a really confortable place to be, the pool is so enjoyable and you can’t get used to the view that is just the best. The food and the service on board was great. We were in a small group of 7 people plus the guide and it was perfect, our guide Hassan was kind, funny and very helpful during all of our stay. Prepare yourself for the very early morning haha but don’t worry it is worth it. For the optional activities we really recommend the nubian village that we didn’t booked at first but overall it was one of the greatest things we did, and of course Abu Simbel is a must.

Everything mostly went smoothly during the tour and were happy with the result. We must say the hotel accommodation and river cruise boat " Renaissance" exceeded our expectations. The only thing we think could improve is a more detailed itinerary either printed or sent by email. Having to rely on Whats App (or asking the guide) all the time was frustrating especially for technology challenged people. We would recommend this tour for sure ( at the current Tour Radar 50% discount )

We enjoyed the pool on top and the jacuzzi, we enjoyed the food… absolutely delicious and top quality buffet ~ tasted like home cooked meals.
Hassan was our your leader, and he had such in-depth knowledge and never made things boring, he was sharp, witty and informative. Hassan really made the excursions worthwhile, we were never left bored or uninformed.

And to Abdul, thank you for making my last day so special—touring the new Egyptian Museum and Saqqara, trying Koshari for the first time, and wandering Khan El Khalili was the perfect way to wrap up an incredible journey.

However, once booked, Holiday in Egypt was absolutely stellar at having fast and clear communication about everything months in advance. I was messaging back and forth with Muhammad and Mustafa for months, and they were extremely professional and helpful. When the day arrived, pickups and drop offs were on time and professional. Our suite at the Cairo World Trade Center was so large, we were stunned! We each had our own bathrooms. While the room was a bit outdated, it was clean and comfortable. To say that the following day touring the pyramids was amazing would be an understatement. Our guide was knowledgeable and kind. We decided to upgrade from the overnight sleeper train to a domestic flight to Aswan for the cruise because we heard that the 15 hour long train ride was somewhat miserable for most people, so I would definitely advise that you add at least $270(for one flight to Aswan at the beginning, and the other from Luxor back to Cairo at the end) to your trip to skip the train and upgrade to a flight and a hotel room. When we got to our cruise ship, we were blown away at how luxurious the boat was. Clean, professional, and very fun. The food was buffet style all you can eat and everything was super delicious. The temples you will visit at the stops from the cruises are life changing, it completely shifts how you think about the past and your place in the world. They are beyond anything you could imagine from the pictures, being there in person. One thing that may deter some people is the wake up call times in the mornings. The latest we woke up was 6am. The earliest we woke up for a tour was 3am! Not expected, but we are in our 20s so not a big deal for us . For other older or younger kids this is definitely not ideal. Holiday in Egypt would benefit from including a this sort of information on its site and a rough estimate hour by hour itinerary of what you’ll be doing for the week. Over all, the queen Cleopatra absolutely deserves a 5 star review, and is easily one of the top travel experiences of my life.

Expect an action packed trip rather than a laid back holiday. The itinerary is full of very early mornings. This was no problem just something to consider if you like to sleep in when on vacation.
The cruise ship is lovely and there are many food options. While the WTC hotel is older it was still very comfortable. If you can, I’d definitely consider upgrading from the sleeper train to flights. The train is a humbling experience.
Overall, this was an excellent trip.

The only downsize were the early mornings and all the stops in the shops (a shop with papyrus, one with cotton/t-shirts, one with oils and parfumes and one with alabaster), me and my husband didn’t like it. If you skip the shops, maybe you can leave a little bit later in the morning?
Apart from that, we had a wonderful time and we liked the trip and the Nile cruise 🙂

Aswan to Luxor - Hassan - was fantastic and very knowledgeable and made sure we always knew where and when we had to meet. Unfortunately he became ill and we had two other guides for the last one and a half days - Anas and Mohmmad who were just as good.
In Cairo, our guide Sohalia was also excellent.
We would recommend that the tour company allow more free time for clients to spend at the pyramids as we felt it was not long enough.
Also the lunch on the itinerary stated that it would be a restaurant with a view of the pyramids/the Nile however this was not correct and we were disappointed in the restaurant choice (although the food was very tasty!).
The boat was lovely our cabin was spacious, enough for 3 and the service and food was excellent. Communication between the tour company/guides and ourselves was excellent as we were always informed as to car arrivals, departure times and flight details.
Thank you to Holiday In Egypt for a wonderful experience and for making my mum and sister’s dream of seeing the pyramids and sailing down the Nile come true!

Before coming to Egypt, I have heard a lot of negative news like you could easily get sick because of the bacterias in the food, and you can be harrassed by the vendors on the streets. However, with Holiday in Egypt, we both had quite nice and clean food, and were prevented from the harassment from the vendors as much as possible by the guides throughout the whole trip. They also explained the history and details about the museums and temple well to us; especially on the first day of our trip in Cairo, the guide studied history during the university, and he was one of the most knowledgeable guides I have ever met. Thanks to him, I had a broad understanding of the Egyptian history after the visit to the museum.
What can I say? FAR more than i was expecting! With regard to the cruise, itself, everything is absolutely top-notch! Our guide who took care of my group was Mr. Hassan. It has been said that if you love what you do, you will never work a day in your life. He is an example of that! It was a very ambitious schedule to quite a few places to see some of the most amazing things I’ve ever seen in my entire life. What makes Hassan special isn’t his seemingly complete knowledge of Egyptian history and the sites we toured, it is his obvious sincere love for Egypt, his people, and the way he manages his tours. He has a unique ability to draw in everyone on the tour to share in his appreciation for all things Egypt. He seamlessly wove very interesting stories about Egypt, as well as himself, with the knowledge that he wanted to impart regarding the tour, itself. I feel blessed to have had Hassan by my side for all the things we did. He is my friend. I wholeheartedly recommend this company, and if it’s allowed, be sure to ask for Hassan to be your guide. The cruise was very clean, beautiful and was good to relax or to relax at the pool. It had good food, especially the egyptian night. Drinks are not included but you get water on every tour. 5/5

Wow. What a fantastic holiday and experience. My wife myself and our 2 children (aged 10 and 11) have just returned from this action packed experience. Travelling with children we were slightly nervou…Wow. What a fantastic holiday and experience. My wife myself and our 2 children (aged 10 and 11) have just returned from this action packed experience. Travelling with children we were slightly nervous before going but the communication beforehand and throughout the trip was excellent. Company staff answered my multiple questions on tour radar over the months leading up to the tour then a week before we were sent WhatsApp messages to answer more specifics.
Due to flights we arrived in Cairo a day early, our flight was heavily delayed but the driver waited patiently for us. We took up the offer for an extra tour of old Cairo on the first day which I would highly recommend for anyone with a day to spare. The tour guide for the old Cairo trip and the pyramids on day 2 was excellent, he was knowledgeable and clearly enthusiastic, he also provided lots of extra information about Cairo and life in Egypt in general. The hotel in Cairo was excellent. Transfer to the overnight sleeper train went without a hitch. The train itself was a little more rustic than we had hoped, but it was a smooth journey and an experience I am glad we had, it arrived on time into Aswan where we were met by our second tour guide (Hassan), who was also excellent. As it was August the temperature at the temples and valley of the kings was in excess of 40 degrees each day. Hassan gave excellent introductions and quick tours around each site, pointing out areas of interest and then gave us free time to explore. With the heat this was perfect as it meant we could move around at our own pace and he was always delighted to answer any questions we had while we looked around. Again he was highly knowledgeable and passionate. Both tour guides were also excellent with the children, involving and including them. The sites were also spectacular the memories of riding up to edfu temple at dawn, looking over kom ombu at sunset and the valley of the kings will stay with us for ever. Due to the heat and having young(ish) children we decided not to do all of the optional extra tours, the guides and company were understanding about this and there was no hard sell to try and get us to sign up for them. The boat itself was also fabulous, all the staff were lovely and attentive with entertainment in the evening. The company then also provided us a free upgrade to private transport to take us to the red sea. The red sea resort itself was ok, to be honest it wasn't really our cup of tea, we came to see the sites not lounge by a pool, but the hotel itself was fine and again the staff pleasent and helpful. We took up the option to do the super safari trip which was truly amazing, racing quad bikes and buggies across the desert and the day ending with a spectacular fire show over dinner. We finally paid for an upgrade to have private transport back to Cairo rather than the bus that runs from the resorts. I would suggest if you have children this is worth considering as it reduced the journey time by about 2 hours. There were a couple of minor hitces along the way (a car turning up late one day and a query over the hotel payment on the last day) but Holiday in Egypt were excellent in terms of communication, we just sent them a WhatsApp message and the problems were resolved very quickly and efficiently. To sum up this was a fantastic holiday that allowed us to see so many sights and experience so much of Egypt. Several of the meals throughout the trip were also at local restaurants allowing you to really experience authentic food and dining.

We only had one minor issue which was the driver forgot to pick us up to go to the airport at the end of the tour, but after talking with the head coordinator I was able to get a partial refund to cover the cost of the taxi we needed to get there.

I'd not recommend train journey, rather suggest plane travel to/from Aswan/ Luxor from Cairo.

If you can, I'd recommend paying extra for the connecting flight from Cairo to Aswan, rather than taking the sleeper train. It's not too bad, but it's long & if you're like me it wasn't easy to sleep on the train. Same for the bus transport from Luxor to Hurghada; spring for the private transportation if asked. The leg-room on the bus is a bit cramped, but not horrible. Also make sure to carry plenty of cash on-hand each day, as tipping is very prominent in Egypt.
Highly recommend paying for the all the additional services such as the Nubian village tour in Aswan, which was a memorable highlight from the entire trip. I enjoyed seeing the Egyptian culture just as much, possibly more-so, than visiting the temples Overall I highly recommend this trip!

We had the situation that our taxi driver didn't come to the pick up time in cairo for the airport transfers, informing the agency via a whatsapp call at 5am in the morning was enough and they quickly organized a new driver - later it turned out the first driver had an emergency.
Compared to other tours this might be a little bit more expensive, but in general you choose quality and don't have to think about anything.
I completely recommend the tour and the experience and also recommend Hasan our guide who was funny, took time to explain everything in an understandable and memorizable way and contributed the this enjoyable stay.

We did a side day trip into Cairo with Shoaila. She was super nice, engaging, extremely knowledgeable and intelligent. It was a delight to be with her. We also had the fortunate luck to have her on the 1st for Giza.
Following that we had Hassan for 4 days, who was also extremely knowledgeable about everywhere. He provided us with just the right amount of info for each site so it could be absorbed. He also allowed us to select to stay longer if needed.
The same signage with our names and drivers waiting was also very helpful.
Lastly, we were provided with general information about general things that made it easier to know what to do in most situations.

All transfers, beautiful classy hotels etc. we had a full day tour in cairo to see the pyramids and the sphinx and also spent quite some time in the fabulous new egyption museum with Sohaila as our guide for the day included was a nice lunch. We went by sleeper overnigjt train to Luxor which was ok but worth it for the experience. We met Hassan Hosny our guide for the nile sector from luxor to aswan. Hassan was fabulous!!! He showed us everything of importance on the trip and was so much fun to be around. People ensure you get Hassan as your future egyptian guide. We devided to fly back to cairo rather than take the train and Hassan organised everything with tous in egypt including flights hotels and transfers. The multiple 4am starts were a bit of a shock, and maybe this could be communicated better before the trip, but once we got used to them it was OK and it's really the only way to see all the sights and travel between the multiple locations.
The boat was excellent with really helpful friendly staff, excellent accommodation and food.
Hassan was a good guide, he taught us a lot and somehow managed to adapt travel, meals, flights etc to meet the changes as we went along. The logistics of the boat, hotels, flights, mini buses must be super complicated but somehow it all worked pretty much seamlessly. Very impressive and certainly not something that could be done without an experienced tour company and guide.

Enough information for us, and time to look around on your own. So many highlights such as the Pyramids; GEM; Karnak and the Valley of the Kings.
We chose to arrive 3 days early to do 2 days in GEM, knowing that 2-3 hours was not enough for us to do it justice as so much to see there.
Very good accommodation and we especially liked the 3 nights cruising on the Nile.
Great value for money.
Many early starts ( from 3.30am) but well worth it. Optional trips will add to your early mornings but that's your choice.
Would recommend this trip if you need to cram it all in in 8 days.
Holidays in Egypt were responsive to emails; well organised and good to deal with.

A smaller group (in our case 16 people) is easier for logistics and makes for a more personal and intimate experience.
We had ample free time to go around each site and the optional day tours were excellent additions to the itinerary. There are extra costs not included in the price of the tour (tips, entrance fees), but these were communicated to us.

After booking through TourRadar, we didn’t really know what to expect from the organisation “Holiday in Egypt.” At first, everything seemed a bit chaotic, with not much information before departure. However, they always replied quickly and very directly to our questions in the chat. Shortly before the trip, the communication continued via WhatsApp, which worked very well. It is important to make sure you have a good internet connection through an eSIM.
Since we arrived in the country two days earlier, we booked an extra private tour to Memphis and Saqqara. Our excellent guide Samira introduced us to the rich culture of Egypt. The next day, we booked another private tour with her to Old Cairo, which we can also highly recommend. It is impressive how flexible the organisation is and how easily they can adapt to last‑minute decisions and changes.
On the official first day of the tour, the operations manager Mohamed came to our hotel to give us an introduction about what to expect in the coming days. This was very interesting and could even be communicated earlier, as it would probably take away many unnecessary concerns.
We also learned that the 15 members of our group had booked different tours from Holiday in Egypt. It was truly admirable how the organisation managed to respect everyone’s programme and still keep everything running smoothly despite the complexity.
From reading some reviews beforehand, we already knew that the Nile cruise would be quite busy, with very short nights. We got up at 3 a.m., 4 a.m., and 5 a.m. on different days. But it was absolutely worth it. Organisationally, it cannot be done differently because of the boat’s sailing schedule, the passage through the Esna lock, and so on.
We can only recommend that future travellers book all the optional excursions. It is tiring, yes, but we saw so many beautiful historical sites. The hot air balloon flight at sunrise is also a fantastic experience.
Our guides, Sohaila (Sue) in Cairo and Hassan for the cruise part in Aswan and Luxor, deserve special mention. Their interesting and often humorous explanations made us truly passionate about the rich history of Egypt.
We can wholeheartedly recommend this tour to everyone.

The only slightly negative feedback is the lack of detailed information on logistics, hotel addresses, how to contact arranged transport if delayed when the tour operator was uncontactable due to internet/signal difficulties. It may well have been that admin was juggling the travel arrangements of different tours and last minute changes. Overall a fabulous experience, but dependent on how the group got on together. We were lucky - its a lottery - some inidviduals can ruin it for others! Would reccomended outside the main tourist season.

But the tours of Cairo began and we had the great opportunity to meet our first tour guide Sohaila. A lovely young lady with tons of knowledge and patience. With a talent for herding cats that our group certainly was especially in the Grand Egyptian museum. Answer of our all questions and kept us on the schedule so we could see and experiments the pyramids and Giza plateau. Much appreciated.
Then off to Aswan! Some train , some plane. We are all meant by our second guide/ babysitter ( lol) Hassan. Who was unfortunate stuck with us for the next 3 to 4 days. We are very lucky and had started to become a little family by then. People from all over the world and it was quite lovely. And Hassan was our mentor.
He gave us the schedule and our lessons, with great enthusiasm, knowledge, and care for the subject matter. And sometimes not sure if he was joking or not. No we not really getting up at 4:00 am to go to a site, are we? Yes you are. And he will have the wake up call sent to your room to make sure you make it. If you don’t it’s on you. He wants you to see all of the sites learn about them. He also cares about the preservation of them. Kind, sweet, funny, man, you’d be lucky to have him.
Then the sad part the group broke off into different tours! We went to Hurghada. Others to different destinations. We absolutely loved Hurghada! All inclusive resort on the Red Sea to get really really spoiled for a few days. Nice end to the trip.

I went back and forth on how to write this, because my experience with Holidays in Egypt was genuinely a mixed bag. Parts of the tour were absolutely five-star. Other parts… let’s call them “character building.”
Let’s start with the good, because there *was* plenty of it.
Before the trip, communication was excellent. Questions were answered quickly and clearly, and I felt confident going in. Once on the ground, things became a little more vague—particularly around domestic flight details, which tended to arrive just in time to be mildly stressful—but nothing catastrophic.
Accommodation was consistently very good. All hotels and boats were comfortable and well run, and the Nile cruise aboard *Zeina* was lovely. The Steigenberger Nile Palace in Luxor deserves a special mention—it was genuinely exceptional. Staff across the board were friendly, warm, and very service-oriented.
The group itself was fantastic: a great mix of ages (from late teens to 50+) and nationalities, which made for an enjoyable, easygoing atmosphere.
Our Cairo guide, Sohaila Fuad, was outstanding. Smart, engaging, professional, and genuinely passionate—exactly what you want when being introduced to ancient Egypt. She set the bar high. Unfortunately, *very* high.
The tour description says there is a guide throughout, but in reality this changes after Cairo. We were taken to the airport by a driver and met a new guide in Aswan. Sadly, Hassan Hosny did not match the standard set in Cairo.
He started strong with a solid introduction at Philae, but as the trip progressed, the guiding became increasingly minimal. Hassan is undeniably funny—but also frequently disengaged, more interested in cigarette breaks or sitting in the air-conditioned bus than actually guiding. He often joked about sites being uninteresting or broken, which some may find amusing, but others (myself included) did not.
What was most disappointing was his dismissive attitude toward the sites themselves—referring to them as boring, broken, or glossing over explanations with a literal “blah blah blah.” Given that ancient Egypt is the entire reason many of us were there, this tone fell flat.
At most sites, we received a brief 10–20 minute introduction followed by a fixed window for photos. At Abu Simbel, the timing worked well. At major sites like Edfu, however, half an hour was simply not enough for anyone with a genuine interest beyond snapping a few selfies.
The Nile cruise portion is very schedule-driven, which translates to *many* early starts—often before breakfast, meaning packed breakfasts became the norm. Wake-up calls as early as 3:30am were common, especially if you opted into activities like Abu Simbel or the hot air balloon (which, to be fair, was incredible).
Flexibility was mentioned but in practice this meant long, tightly packed days with little breathing room.
One example: the tour includes a horse and carriage ride to Edfu Temple. After asking several times if anyone wanted to upgrade to a tuk tuk (and receiving no interest), Hassan decided we would all go by coach instead—disappointing those who were actually looking forward to the carriage ride.
That same morning, we were told to leave at 4:55am for what turned out to be a 10-minute drive… to a temple that didn’t open until 6am. Result: nearly an hour of standing in the cold, shivering. A simple heads-up to bring warm clothes would have gone a long way. Ironically, when we left Edfu later, there were no crowds at all—suggesting a later visit would have been far more comfortable.
On arrival in Luxor, time constraints meant we only visited Luxor Temple, not both Luxor and Karnak as originally planned. Thankfully, the time we *did* have there was sufficient.
This, however, made the final day utterly exhausting. After the optional balloon ride (amazing), we crammed the following into a single day, finishing by 3:30pm as the group split:

* Breakfast & checkout
* Valley of the Kings
* Temple of Hatshepsut
* Colossi of Memnon
* Karnak Temple (the largest temple complex in the world)
There was no lunch stop, no suggestion to buy snacks, and very little concern shown for basic comfort—which felt unnecessary and avoidable.
When two of us staying on in Luxor asked to spend longer at Karnak, Hassan kindly gave us a taxi number—but refused to take our luggage, despite heading to the boat and hotel with the others anyway. That was the moment I decided that the tip I’d been debating would remain firmly in my pocket. (For clarity: the daily $8 collected by HIE does *not* include guide tips.)
In short: I would absolutely recommend the Cairo portion of this trip. I would *not* recommend the Nile cruise section if your goal is to explore ancient sites in any depth.
On a positive final note, I added an extra day to visit Alexandria, and both my driver Bob and local guide Wissam were excellent—professional, flexible, and genuinely engaging. The seafood lunch (chosen à la carte at my own expense) was a highlight and a great way to end the journey.

The Nile cruise itself was enjoyable and the ship was fairly good for what the tour promises. There is some inevitable fatigue because the schedule is tight, and a small downside is that tipping is expected in many parts of the trip — that’s simply how tourism works in Egypt.
Still, the experience as a whole was memorable and offers solid value for anyone wanting to see Egypt’s most important sites quickly and efficiently. I’d rate it 5/5

We have just finished the most unforgettable trip to Egypt with Holiday in Egypt, and everything was perfectly organized from start to finish. The itinerary was well-balanced, and we felt completely supported throughout the journey.
We began our adventure in Cairo, staying at the Helnan Dreamland Hotel—a clean and comfortable property with great service. Our Cairo guide, Suhaila, was phenomenal. She brought the ancient sites to life with her deep historical knowledge, engaging storytelling, and warm personality. Visiting the Pyramids of Giza, the Sphinx, and the Egyptian Museum with her was a highlight in itself.
From Cairo, we took the sleeper train to Aswan, which was a unique and comfortable experience. Upon arrival, we boarded the M/S Nabilatan for a 2-night, 3-day Nile Cruise—a relaxing and scenic way to explore the treasures along the Nile.
Our guide during the cruise, Hassan, was outstanding. He guided us through temples in Aswan, Kom Ombo, Edfu, and Luxor, including Karnak Temple and the Valley of the Kings. His passion for Egyptian history and clear explanations made every site meaningful.
One of the most unforgettable experiences was the hot air balloon ride over Luxor at sunrise—absolutely magical and something we’ll never forget.
We ended our trip in Hurghada, staying at the lovely Iberotel Casa Del Mar Resort. It was the perfect place to relax, with great food, service, and proximity to the beach. The snorkeling excursion in the Red Sea was another major highlight—calm, clear waters and colorful marine life made it an incredible experience.

We had a nice time exploring Egypt. We availed the 8 days tour. We started with Cairo, took the Nile Cruise down to Aswan and Luxor and ended in Hurghada. I recommend that you avail all the add-ons if you can, its totally worth it. Overall the trip was good. One thing I didn't like is you are made to pay tip amount of US 64 upfront on first day of the tour when tipping should be completely voluntary. Also the boat on the Nile doesn't have food you can order throughout the day so if you miss a meal because your tour is running late then you just don't get fed until the next meal time. Dinner is at 8 pm but on one nights it was at 8.30 pm which I thought was a bit late if lunch was at 12.. Mohamad was in charge of my tour prior to it starting and I found him ok to deal with. I had confirmed with Mohamad prior to my last day to organise transfer pick-up from the hotel at 10 am to the airport so we knew we had a safe ride.. Which he agreed to do so. My last day come and no one arrived to pick us up from the hotel. When I messaged Mohamad to confirm if he had organised a car I was completely ignored with no response at all. We had to arrange another lift which then made up late to the airport as we were a one hour drive away in traffic.
Our guides in Cairo and luxor were great and helpful. The highlight was the pyramids and museum. The trip was worth the price. The hotels were amazing especially the one in luxor which was beautiful. You need to be careful when buying anything as the locals will rip you off if they can.

The cruise allowed us to visit places we might have skipped otherwise. On the cruise itself rooms were clean, staff was accommodating and food was fine. There was a pool on the roof a spa and optional activities planned in the evening although we were mostly too tired to enjoy. We ended up walking through a lot of different cruise ships and they all seemed pretty similar.
Hassan, our tour guide, was really awesome. Very knowledgeable, passionate about his country's history and shared personal stories from his experience as a local. He managed all the logistics and told us when & where we needed to be. The spots we went to were all really amazing and he shared the highlights we needed to know before giving us free time to explore. There were some fun surprises along the way and shops we got to stop in for souvenirs. He was very accommodating to our schedules and needs. The tour group was 15 people total which was much nicer and manageable than the larger groups we saw at the sites.

The vehicles used for transfers were quite dated and not very comfortable. While the boat itself was fine, it didn’t feel like the five-star experience we were told to expect — especially compared to other ships we walked through along the way. The food also wasn’t very adaptable to different cultures or dietary preferences, and several people in our group found it challenging. Overall, while we still enjoyed parts of the trip, we feel there’s room for improvement before we could recommend it to others.

I did not warm to our guide, Hassan. I found he was sexist, misogynistic and I found some of his comments offensive. Additionally, I don’t feel his commentary was enlightened and current. More than likely he’s been using the same spiel for 25 years.
I recommend the tour and hope you get a different guide.

The part which we didn't like so much was the itinerary set up. There seems to be some kind of race amongst all the different ships to get through the lock in Esna which means that up until that point, all visits are super rushed! We didn't do the Abu Simbel excursion, and while we would definitely want to go visit it next time we go to Egypt, we're glad we didn't. Our other group members had to wake up at around 3:30am to leave to Abu Simbel (again a race amongst all the vans to get through security check points along the route), spend maybe an hour in total exploring the site, and then rushed back to the ship in Aswan. On the second day we all had to wake up at 4:30, arrive at the temple site by 5:15, and be informed that it only opens at 6am but that we had to get there early to beat the other cruise groups. While it's typical for group travel tours to be somewhat rushed, in this case it all felt very rushed, which is a pity because you don't get to enjoy the places as much. You can't blame the tour operator or guide though, because it seems all cruises and tour operators operate the same way. If we ever go again, we would probably get a private driver from Aswan to Luxor and stop by the sights at our own place (takes just 1 full day). And then take a cruise back to Aswan (or vice versa). Because the cruise in itself is a great experience, it's just the way the cruises operate, time-wise and itinerary-wise, that makes it tiring. Nonetheless, we are glad we had this experience and really learnt a lot! Also enjoyed the Nubian village tour which includes a stop at a beach to swim in the Nile! The tour operator was always very responsive, and Hassan, our guide was great at giving us the right amount of info and open to questions if you have any! Also, good to know, if you have a valid student card, you can get your entrance tickets at half price.

For example....We got off the flight from Cairo into Aswan wearing travel clothes and taken straight to the Pyramids. Apart from the normal heat which we did expect, we experienced a heat wave without appropriate clothing or shoe wear to manage the visit. It certainly took away from the experience.
Leading up to the tour, I had messaged Tour Radar sight many times asking for a proper itinerary, and I was simply diverted to the 'basic sight' sales version which by the way was incorrect. This right up to the day we were leaving two weeks before hand. I did get a copy eventually, 5 days into our tour sent to my email. Alais this was not all correct as well.
All of our travelling companions complained of the same issue.
None of our concerns were addressed. The boat was very good, clean, with a variety and quality of food. The staff was friendly without pressuring customers to purchase more services. Hassan Hosny was extremely knowledgeable and personable. I loved listening to all of his stories. He took such good care of us, making sure that we had all the ticket information we needed and that we never missed a transfer.

Once we arrived in Egypt, everything with timely and very organized. We did not feel rushed at any of the sites and our guides, Sohaila, Hassan, and Mayo did a phenomenal job explaining the history to us. Also, it was great not having to worry about tipping drivers and other service workers because we paid tips up front. The Nile River cruise was definitely a highlight of the tour. Holiday in Egypt arranged a complimentary anniversary celebration for my husband and I while on the cruise. The entire crew was involved, presented us with a cake and even wore traditional Egyptian attire. They made us feel so special for our anniversary. There were several other tour companies to choose from and I’m so happy we decided on Holiday in Egypt. You will not be disappointed if you choose them too! These were to not take the train Cairo to Aswan and fly instead, and a private bus to Hurghada was preferable. I think that offering a flight to Abu Simbel would have been a MUCH preferred option to 10 hours in a bus. We only had an hour at the temple which was disappointing. Also the public bus from Hurghada to Cairo is another very long and not very comfortable trip when a short flight makes for a much better ending to the trip

Would definetly recommend both Holiday in Egypt and Tour Radar as easy communication with somebody always there to meet us at the next stop and a few contacts to reach out to if needed. It was a great price for what was included with nice hotels, a lovely cruise boat and crew and resort. The train trip from Cairo to Aswan was certainly an experience with a very old train but we were warned by the tour company and had the opportunity to upgrade for a flight for very cheap but we were keen for the full Egypt experience and with an open mind for travelling really enjoyed it. Thanks to all the guides and behind the scenes organisers. Some of the really touristy sights got quite busy but the guides did well to get us through with good descriptions and stories and still time to explore on our own.

We felt very comfortable on board the Radamis 2 and would recommend the trip.

We felt we were in good hands. The cruise ship had modern facilities, the staff were very attentive and the food (buffet) was varied. The hotel in Cairo had a rather old-fashioned charm - but the suite was incredibly large and the breakfast extremely extensive. Only the first transfer (from the airport to the hotel) didn't work straight away - I was glad to have an emergency number where I got immediate assistance. Unfortunately, we were unable to take the planned sleeper car trip due to adverse circumstances, but the organizer gave us an upgrade to the flight at extremely favourable conditions. Many thanks for that! All in all, I can only warmly recommend Holiday in Egypt and the trip!

We also met both owners, they were very hands on & we were checked on during our tour. Our different tour guides were extremely knowledgeable, polite, & professional. I’d say we felt welcomed everywhere we went. There was an option to upgrade to flying instead of the train. We took the train not fully understanding what we were getting into & we have been humbled by that experience. I recommend flying & if you don’t upgrade to flying you will be encouraged to but you can decline. The train is not for me in it’s current state however we were told it will be upgraded sometime in 2025. The restrooms were the worst part of that experience. I purposely didn’t want to drink much so I wouldn’t have to use them. The sleeping car was tiny but manageable if two of you are slim or you’re solo. If you’re tall, don’t bother. The dinning car allows smoking which I didn’t like so we didn’t use it. They provide dinner & breakfast on the train which can be brought to your “room”. The dinner was better than expected & breakfast was a lot of breads. The flights come with hotel stays which is a much better option. The Nile cruise was my favorite & we enjoyed Aswan very much, we didn’t get to go out much in Luxor on our own & the boat we were on docked too far from the city to walk. We got to see so many amazing places! So much history & even places mentioned in the Bible! I would definitely recommend booking this tour or any other tour with Holiday in Egypt. We were treated like valuable customers by the tour company. Y’all go visit Egypt! It's safe!

When I'm on vacation, I like to discover but also to rest (a balance between the two), but this trip wasn't relaxing, as everything followed on from each other very quickly and visits and travel (by plane) often had to be done early in the morning. Breakfast on the boat was only available until 8:30 in the morning. With a 6-year-old, it wasn't easy. But even for me (the mother) it was hard to get up... I also deplore the fact that we were forced to take the plane from Cairo to Aswan when it was the night train that was included in the package. It was explained to us that it was really easier, that we would arrive less late in Aswan and that the train experience was exhausting. So I agreed, for the sake of my little girl and so as not to delay the other members of the group who had also been persuaded to travel by plane rather than train. However, we arrived much later than if we had taken the train (which meant that a visit scheduled for the day of arrival in Aswan had to be postponed until the following morning). We took the train back (Luxor-Cairo) as planned, and it was one of my favorite experiences ever :) It gave us the chance to see Egypt (albeit at high speed) from a different angle than from the boat. To discover a bit of the other side of the story. Families working in the fields, environmental pollution, etc... I found the visits to the pyramids and temples fascinating, but I also like to discover the raw, 'authentic' side of the country when I travel. This was the first time my daughter and I had traveled in an organized group. It's good because you just have to follow the guide's lead. Everything is organized for us, despite last-minute changes. And we get to meet other travelers with whom we share a wonderful adventure. But I confess I prefer unorganized travel. That means having the time to organize them in advance, though. Finally, I'd say the value for money was very good, because in the end I didn't pay very much for myself and my daughter. The return flight from France to Egypt cost us more than the 7-day excursion. So that's why I give it 4 stars. And for Hassan the guide ;) All in all, it was a positive and enriching experience.

Well organised be ready for lots of early mornings but it is so worth it to see the sites. I would recommend Abu Simbel for sure as an extra it was so worth it to see it.

For future improvement, I would love to see better consideration for Muslim travelers who need to observe Fajr prayer. On early morning trips, it would be beneficial if some time and arrangements could be made for prayer before heading out. From Aswan to Luxor we were on the boat for three days. Our rooms were spacious, the food was delicious, much better than I’d expected to be honest! Sailing along the Nile was extraordinary. Everyone and especially our guide Hassan was really friendly and helpful. He was also very informative. Egypt is full of history and the pyramids and temples were fantastic. I hope to go back and see the rest of Egypt soon.

We were fortunate to hire our package through Local Adventures in Mexico, already in Cairo the team of Holiday in Egypt, received us despite having had an incident with our international flight at the…We were fortunate to hire our package through Local Adventures in Mexico, already in Cairo the team of Holiday in Egypt, received us despite having had an incident with our international flight at the beginning (no fault of the travel company) were always super pending of us (WhatsApp groups and personally), We were fortunate to take the services of domestic flight, airport transfers to the hotel, hotel accommodation, cruise reservations on the Nile, tour service with the most representative places in Egypt, always showing professionalism and cordiality, anticipating our needs, on arrival we were met by Tahuer, He explained the itinerary in case we needed changes or clarifications, and in the tours Hassan gave us explanations of the places to visit always cordial, keeping control of the group, making comments on some points of interest to see the most relevant and representative areas, tips from personal experience, We had a very good time, very comfortable, there were some tours that were close to places to buy, we were attended very well without harassment, without pressure, and with very good prices and packages (papyrus, perfumes, alabaster, etc.), the only incident or inconvenience was in the tour, the only incident or inconvenience was the one in the tour, the only one in the tour was the one in the tour; the only incident or inconvenience was in a domestic flight transfer because the arrival time was very fair in terms of flight departure time, the driver was about 10 minutes late to the hotel pickup, and having to make documentation of luggage and security filter we were very close to miss the flight (which we did manage to board), other than that was a great trip to remember.

I have to say its an amazing country, with a very rich history, which is why we choose this tour to begin with. However, organizing anything ourselves can be quite the challenge, given the language barrier. This is where Holiday in Egypt came in. Everything was very well organized and we were clearly informed when we would be picked up and we were guided nicely. Especially our tour guide Hassan was great. The culture is quite different in Egypt and everyone will sell you anything, all the time, believe me. At first it can be quite overwhelming, but he had good advice on how to get through it. Some tips on what kind of price should be reasonable to barter and when taken to local specialty places he made sure to point out that we should not feel pressured to buy anything. His stories provided great context to the places we were visiting and we were always given plenty of time to walk around for ourselves after he explained the history.
The tour ends with some relaxing time in a great all inclusive resort, including cocktails!, which is such a nice end to the trip. The only minor point I would mention is the super safari we did in the end. Its during the "relaxing phase" at the end of the tour and I would say it didn't really fit my view of a safari, its more like an experience center, where you get to ride a camel, a quad, a dune buggy and enjoy some shows at the end. If you would like to ride a camel, different opportunities will be available during the trip, your tour guide can help you there. The other experiences I enjoyed thoroughly, however its quite a rough ride in the desert, so I would definitely not recommend it if your group includes either young kids or people 55+.
But it is optional, so take this advice as you'd like.
All in all a great experience, where you get to view such amazing historic monuments, well organized with a very responsive travel agency there to help you. Would recommend!

Our group was 10 in total plus Hassan and our group was such a lovely bunch of people!
Be prepared for a few early starts to see some of the sights. You will also visit a few stores along the way eg papyrus, perfume/oils and alabaster. Be ready to bargain! Don't accept the "fixed prices" noted on the items.
The time cruising the Nile was brilliant - we were on the Radimis II and it was mesmerising gliding along the river. Rooms were great and very clean and comfy.
Unfortunately, the accommodation in Cairo (Cairo World Trade Centre Residences & Hotel) lets the experience down. Staff there are nice but the rooms are disappointing (very dated interiors, smell of cigarette smoke, lack of hot water in bathroom, floors had obviously not been cleaned).
Hopefully Holiday in Egypt will reconsider using this hotel.
However, on balance, a well-run tour and we have come away with magical memories (temples, tombs, hot air ballooning, going thru the Esna lock on the Nile, visiting a Nubian village, camel rides etc). Thanks again to Hassan and Taher (tour organiser)!

One notable adjustment we made was skipping the trains we had originally scheduled. Given how unpredictable train travel seems to be in Egypt, it might be worth reconsidering whether they should be included in tour packages.

We ended in Hurgada. Easy relaxing by the beach as a way to end our tour. We did the safari- it’s a lot of driving fast in the desert.

The organisation was great except for our flight from Aswan to Cairo on the last day which didn’t depart until 9.45pm and it was late which I understand isn’t the tour operators fault. We had checked out of the boat on the morning of our departure at 4.15am to go to Abu Simbel returning to the boat at 1.00pm without a room to use for the rest of the day. Mid afternoon flights should be arranged. The booking was made months in advance and at that stage, mid afternoon flights were available. By the time we got to our Cairo hotel, it was 1.30 am, a 22 hour day, not good. Seeing Egypt with a great guide like Hassan is a must but maybe not on a boat.

Remember to factor in tips and entry fees in your budget (about $175USD per person) although it would possibly be better to tip yourself in Hurghada as the staff never saw us give tips and they weren’t as happy. Otherwise most everything else is included including meals and water ( we bought a bit more as we drink a lot but this is a minor expense).
There are a couple of optional tombs but under 100 USD even if you do all of them - which is a lot.

I was not blown away by our tour guides and their knowledge all of the time but I also understand the challenge of communicating in English when it is not your first language and cultural differences in communication styles. Recommend upgrading to the flight options rather than the overnight train - it is an experience! It is clean though, just not very comfortable and sleep is definitely challenging so bring an eye-mask and ear plugs if you need and have some sleeping pills handy. Be prepared for people to mob you everywhere selling cheap trinkets. And it is Egypt... so not everything will go exactly according to schedule, especially in and around Cairo where traffic is intense. My only real complaint was the lack of real Egyptian food - the cruise mainly serves western-style food, so adding on a day in Cairo for a food tour or something along those lines would be a nice bonus to get to experience a little more of the traditional cuisine. Any time we ate at a local restaurant the food was incredible. Also a day or two in Cairo to see the city and other sites there was really nice at the end of my trip to learn a little more about the more modern-day Egypt. USD and EUR are pretty much accepted everywhere, as are Visa/Mastercard, but I did like having local currency as my primary way to pay for small things. Taper your expectations of luxury and modern fittings and you will have a wonderful time! All in all - highly recommend Egypt as a destination and Holiday in Egypt did a great job!

Then the next few nights spent from Aswan to Luxor via Cruise sailing- very generous history of Egypt well-explained and very informative by our tour guide Mr. Hassan, Shukran to you that No boring tour or moments while on, tour with this Man. I loved seeing the Abu Simbel, Luxor temple, Edfu temple, and Karnak temple to name a few, Valley of the Kings to see the tombs of the greatest in Ancient.

We were welcomed by Ehob at the Cairo airport passed the midnight. Then followed by Sohila, who showed us around Cairo and Alexandria. She was very prepared with materials and information. The Operation manager Toher met us on the next day to explain the details and assured all questions were answered. Hassan was our guide for the next 5 days from Aswan to Luxur. We felt everyone was trying their best and gone extra miles to help and make our trip memorable. They navigate the chaos and shield us from local vendors. Can't thank enough for the HIE team.
The cruise on the Nile is a fantastic experience everyone should do in their life time. The cruise takes you to a lot of places, so expect to be constantly amazed at the magnificence of the ancient eg…The cruise on the Nile is a fantastic experience everyone should do in their life time. The cruise takes you to a lot of places, so expect to be constantly amazed at the magnificence of the ancient egyptian artifacts, the natural splendour of the Nile, and the kindness of the Egyptian people. The service on the ship is amazing, as well as the facilities on the boat. The tour is quite intense, starting early in the morning and finishing late on most days, but with many breaks for free time to roam around, to eat the delicious local food, to enjoy the poolside and the shows in the lounge, to rest and sail. The personnel on the boat was absolutely delightful - shoutout to the guys doing massage, the guy in the souvenir shop and the guys printing pics and shooting videos, who were all really nice to talk to!
It is also worth knowing that the cruise is not actually "all inclusive", at least not by the definition we were used to, because drinks are not included, but it's quite cheap relative to european and I guess american prices. Also, the price does not include entrances to the various temples you will visit, but you have 2 options: either to pay for each entrance yourself, or to get a sort of "pass" through the agency that for $100 includes tickets and tips. If I were to do it again, I would probably prefer to get ticket entrances individually, because I don't know where exactly this tipping goes to. Also, people will still expect to be tipped because they don't know you e-tipped in advance. On that note, make sure to carry a lot of small bills and tip most people you interact with - the horse and carriage driver, the guy walking the camel, the people in the temples who try to explain things to you. In our case, because we don't come from a country where we use dollars or euros, this was difficult, as people expect most payments in dollars. There are many ATMs but often we would arrive in very busy areas and didn't feel very comfortable using the ATM in those areas.
Sadly, I have to mention the less happy aspect of our trip which was the guide. I am sorry but I have to be honest, Hasan is evidently not passionate about Egypt's history or about antiquity. He speaks for a very short time giving very high level information and then disappears. Other guides will walk inside the temples with the tourists, explain things in detail and answer questions, which was not the case with our guide. I am sure he is a nice person, but maybe not in the right job.
He took us to a couple of places that seemed interesting and were not mentioned in the tour - an essential oil / perfume shop and an alabaster factory. The perfume shop was a bad experience. The girls presenting the perfumes were arrogant and the price was 15 times more expensive than what we paid in the local market for the same stuff.
Overall, it was a beautiful trip and we really feel like our journey to Egypt would not have been complete without the cruise and the temples - in particular, Abu Simbel is not to be missed. However, we can't omit saying that with a more passionate guide, this could have been much more enjoyable.

We've had a very enjoyable and relaxing time in Egypt over the past week. We heard some negative stories before coming but they are absolutely not true. The Egyptians are a very kind and friendly people, booking your tours in advance I think is definitely the better way to go, no hassles when you are with a tour guide rather than if you try to travel alone and do it independently. I recommend this Nile cruise for anyone wanting to experience wonderful Egypt. Very safe, friendly and warm people. And Hassan our tour guide was exceptional! Afterwards the 3 day Nile tour and visit to the Nubian village was great. Seeing the colorful village and meeting the local people was a wonderful experience. Our guide Hasan was amazing very friendly and knowledgeable about both Egyptian history as well as modern culture. He told us what to expect, what was the best to see, and what to avoid. All of the temple visits were amazing, each temple had a unique vibe. Abu Simbel was particularly stunning and well worth the extra money and drive to visit. We also did the hot air balloon ride over the valley of the kings which was truly a memorable experience. We finished the trip with some relaxation at the Red Sea resort and it was absolutely fantastic. I can't recommend this trip enough. Great guide and fun times

Our guide Hassan was amazing he was funny informative and took amazing care of us. He always had cold water ready for us, and provided umbrellas that were the envy of every other tour group around us! That umbrella saved us under the sun at 114f, 6 star service. The cruise was great, tours were well balanced with information and time to walk around and take pictures, we even stopped for ice cream. Highly recommend this tour if you want a care free experience ending with an all inclusive beach resort to decompress at. Lastly you are never alone, the outfitter and guides are always in contact with you via what’s app so your never lost or looking for information.

To be honest I feel that getting around to see so much without the guidance of the tour company would have been nearly impossible and I’m surprised that there were only a few small hiccups here and there that were able to be smoothed out quickly.
Our first tour guide in Giza, Sohaila, was very knowledgeable and friendly. Hassan was the second guide who stayed with us for the majority of the trip and was also kind, funny and clearly knew his stuff. There were little quirks to deal with at some of the accommodations that were made for us but nothing that ruined any of our stays. Most of the meals provided were through buffets which were all quite good and allowed for a nice variety but we did have a couple instances of enjoying local fare that we enjoyed.
The tour understandably keeps you on a pretty tight schedule so it can be difficult to get out to do things on your own but you do get small chances here and there. My favorite experiences were crushing on the Nile, Kom Ombo temple, the excursion to the Nubian Village in Aswan, and the hot air balloon over and tombs in the Valley of the Kings. (The very difficult tomb is not really that difficult. If you can climb to the top of a 3 unit building without being winded you should be fine.)
I didn’t mind the sleeper train to Aswan but I did have to tape down some cabinets and position my luggage to hold other things in place to be able to sleep without them opening and closing all night. Also, my bigger window was cracked so didn’t get to see out as much as I would have liked. The long bus rides to Hurghada and back to Cairo were less enjoyable. Many in our group did not enjoy either of these experiences though so you may want to consider paying extra for some or all of the plane transfers or perhaps working out a private car with others in your overall tour group.
I wouldn’t characterize anything we did as especially physically taxing but the heat (end of May beginning of June) was absolutely no joke. Our tour guides made sure to have water available for us, check how we were feeling and give us some time to recover in AC whenever possible though and the very early starts helped too.
Many in our group are not the resort types but the last two days in Hurghada were a welcome rest after so much movement in the previous week.
Overall the Immortal Egypt tour was a very good value given everything we saw and experienced with a good amount of nice surprises too and I will definitely be recommending it and Holiday in Egypt to friends and family.
It really exceeded my expectations. So many things to see and so well organised. So much food I never went hungry. I highly recommend this tour!
