However, we would like to clarify a few points, as parts of your review may give future travelers an inaccurate impression.
The itinerary is clearly advertised as a 4-day/3-night Nile cruise, referring to the duration of your stay on board, not continuous sailing. All Nile cruises in Egypt operate under navigation schedules regulated by the Egyptian authorities, with time allocated for sailing, docking for sightseeing, overnight stays, passing through locks, and waiting for river traffic. This is the standard operating procedure for every Nile cruise in Egypt and is not unique to our tours.
We are also surprised by your statement that the cruise sailed for only 3½ hours, as this is simply not consistent with the actual itinerary. The cruise normally sails approximately:
- Aswan to Kom Ombo: around 5 hours
- Kom Ombo to Edfu: around 12 hours
- Edfu to Luxor: around 14 hours
This represents many hours of navigation during the cruise, in addition to the time spent docked for the included sightseeing program. We are therefore unsure how you concluded that there were only 3½ hours of sailing.
Regarding the cabin key, the cruise ship issues one key card per cabin as part of its onboard policy. While we understand this may have been inconvenient, this policy is determined by the cruise operator.
We also found your comments about the breakfast box somewhat contradictory. You praised the quality of the food served throughout the cruise, yet the breakfast box—prepared by the same cruise ship for the early Abu Simbel departure—was described as unacceptable. Breakfast boxes are necessarily simpler than the buffet breakfast because guests depart several hours before the restaurant opens. Nevertheless, we appreciate your suggestion and will forward your comments to the cruise management for their consideration.
As for the transportation to Abu Simbel, we respectfully disagree with your description. The driver is a licensed professional with extensive experience operating this route, and your tour guide accompanied the group throughout the journey. No concerns regarding excessive speed or unsafe driving were reported to the guide or to our team during or after the excursion. Had any safety issue been raised at the time, it would have been addressed immediately.
While we fully respect that the cruise experience did not meet your personal expectations, describing it as a "ripoff" is misleading. The itinerary, accommodation, meals, guided sightseeing, and cruise duration were delivered exactly as advertised. The cruise combines accommodation, transportation, sightseeing, and meals while sailing according to the regulations governing navigation on the Nile, which is the same format followed by all Nile cruises in Egypt.
