This tour introduces you to the some of most impressive sights of Egyptian history. The places visited are extraordinary with Luxor‘s highlights (Valley of Kings, Karnak temple) at the end. Cruising down the Nile gives you more impressions on life on and off the Egyptian part of the world’s longest river and is a relaxing experience. Our guide Ahmed was taking good care of us and gave us good explanations of the tombs and temples we visited with background stories and information on the scenes depicted on the walls. The boat itself was ok, but not great. Cabins could have been cleaner, linen had stains and towels were grey. The food was only ok and drinks priced on European level. Given the 225€ per night only for accommodation on the boat, this is not good value for money (e.g. compared to what you’ll get for that money at the Red Sea in Egypt). Lastly it felt like we were on someone else’s schedule, not necessarily the best schedule for the guests. We could’ve spent more time at the sights in some occasions where we had to rush due to the boat‘s schedule. E.g. the day we laid moored in front of a lock for three hours even when all ships in front of us had already passed, but had only little time to explore a temple in the morning for which we had to get up at 3:30am. The small group with lovely and interesting fellow travelers made the time between sights entertaining and memorable. So all in all a great experience to experience the Nile and see ancient Egyptian history but with lots of room for improvement on schedule and quality of accommodation.Show more

We may fly out of Aswan on the afternoon/ evening when the tour finishes so also helpful to have your view on after what time we should consider flights from Luxor back to Cairo so we can look at the options.

I think it mentions the tour finishes at 1pm, is it possible to finish the tour on the last day slightly earlier to allow us to make our flight at 2:45pm?

Can you explain the difference between double cabin and shared double room?

  Double Cabin: Private cabin on the cruise with one large bed (double bed) and private bathroom for 2 adults travelling together. Shared Double Room: Also a private cabin with two separate beds (twin beds) and private bathroom for 2 adults who prefer separate beds. There is no sharing with other travelers. The cabin is only for the two of you.

  We arrive by plane to Aswan the same day the cruise begins. What is the maximum arrival time in the morning to participate in the Philae temple visit?

  On Day 1 in Aswan, the visit to Philae Temple normally takes place late morning after embarkation. To comfortably join the visit, we recommend arrival in Aswan Airport no later than 10:00 AM, with ideal arrival time between 7:00 AM and 9:30 AM. This allows time for airport pickup, transfer to the cruise, check-in procedures, and meeting your guide before the temple visit. If your flight lands around 10:30 AM, it may still work depending on timing, but anything after 11:00 AM risks missing the Philae tour.

Payment information
- For any tour departing before August 21st, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after August 21st, 2026, a minimum payment of 15% is required to confirm your booking with Holiday In Egypt. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 65 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
- Some departure dates and prices may vary and Holiday In Egypt will contact you with any discrepancies before your booking is confirmed.
