Is there an option for getting a tour of the pyramids before or after the cruise? also the new Egyptian Museum? Options for pre or post hotels?

Yes, absolutely. We can arrange a pre-tour visit to the Pyramids and the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) before your cruise. Since you're interested in the November 14, 2026 departure, the same group that will be joining the cruise will be touring the Pyramids and GEM in Cairo on Friday, so you can simply join them before the cruise begins. We can also arrange pre-tour accommodation at the same hotel we use in Cairo for a seamless start to your trip.

The food on board was excellent, with a good variety throughout the cruise. The accommodation was comfortable and well maintained. Our guide was knowledgeable and explained the history and stories behind each site very well, which made the visits much more interesting. Visiting the beautiful ancient temples along the Nile was definitely the highlight of the trip and an unforgettable experience. We decided to extend our trip and flew to Cairo for two days before the tour began. This was more than enough time to visit the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), the Pyramids of Giza, enjoy a camel ride, and explore Memphis and the Saqqara pyramids. We arranged this part of the trip ourselves, but TourRadar would have been more than happy to help organise it if we had preferred. The tour company was incredible from start to finish. They arranged to collect us from our hotel in Cairo before our flight to Luxor, where our Nile cruise adventure began. From the moment we landed in Luxor, everything was seamlessly organised. Our guide and driver were waiting for us, and throughout the trip everything ran smoothly. Our tour guide, Hassan, was fantastic. He struck the perfect balance between providing historical information, cultural insights, and humour, without overwhelming us with too many facts. He was knowledgeable, engaging, and clearly passionate about sharing Egypt's incredible history. Of the optional excursions, we would highly recommend both Abu Simbel and the Nubian Village. These come at an additional cost but were absolutely worth every penny and were among the highlights of our trip. The excursions included within the package were also excellent and allowed us to experience some of Egypt's most iconic ancient sites. One of our personal highlights was visiting the Valley of the Kings and seeing Tutankhamun's mummy. The boat itself exceeded our expectations. The staff were exceptionally polite and attentive throughout the cruise. Our cabin was spacious and comfortable, with bottled water replenished daily during room servicing. The facilities were excellent, including a large sun deck, comfortable seating areas, and a small pool that was perfect for cooling off while enjoying the stunning views along the Nile. The food was another standout feature of the trip. There was an incredible variety available every day, including fresh fruit, meats, pasta dishes, rice, potatoes, salads, and an impressive selection of desserts. There was always plenty of choice, and the quality was consistently excellent. As with any trip, there are some additional costs to consider. Before travelling, we asked TourRadar for a breakdown of all expected expenses so we knew exactly what to budget for, and we would strongly recommend doing the same. This meant there were no unexpected surprises. There is a mandatory payment that covers basic entrance fees to sites such as the Valley of the Kings, as well as tipping for the boat staff. Some attractions, such as Tutankhamun's tomb, require an additional ticket, but these are entirely optional and only payable if you choose to visit. Overall, we had an amazing time. The history was fascinating, the organisation was excellent, Hassan was a wonderful guide, and the Nile cruise itself was an unforgettable experience. Sailing along one of the world's most famous rivers while discovering Egypt's ancient wonders was truly a trip of a lifetime, and we would highly recommend it to anyone considering a visit.Show more

This tour has beyond exceeded my expectations. The company arranged for all of our transportation between hotels, flights, and activities. Everything was taken care of, we never had to deal with extra costs or potential issues along the way. Our tour guide, Hassan, made sure we were comfortable, safe, and happy the entire time. He seemed to be friends with everyone and we could see why! We skipped past lines to quickly get into all the temples without dealing with the crowds. He gave us history and information about all the sites then gave us our free time to roam around and take pictures/explore for ourselves. He was very knowledgeable and personable, and always made sure we had plenty of water! Each day we had our activities planned out around the meals that were provided on the cruise. We would set our times and Hassan would be waiting for us at reception to head on to our adventures. We often had downtime between meals and activities where we were able to rest in our room or enjoy the pool and bar on the sundeck of the boat. There also is a lounge bar on the cruise that is open 24 hours that was very nice. We never would have been able to see all the sites that we wanted to had we planned this on our own. The connections and organization through the Holiday in Egypt tour made it possible for us to have time to do everything without feeling rushed. Being two young females traveling alone we were a little apprehensive about visiting Egypt. This tour and our guide Hassan made us feel beyond comfortable, safe, and filled with happiness about our experience. It was so amazing to see, experience, and learn about Egyptian culture.Show more

  We offer this itinerary in two options:
  
  With domestic flights between Cairo and Luxor and Aswan and Cairo.
  Without domestic flights, using alternative transportation. Please let us know which option you prefer.
  Regarding the optional tours:
  
  Nubian Village: USD 50 per person
  Hot Air Balloon: USD 120 per person
  Karnak Sound & Light Show: available on request
  
  The prices are the same whether you book in advance or during the tour. However, we recommend booking the hot air balloon in advance as availability can be limited.

  Since you're interested in the November 14, 2026 departure, the same group that will be joining the cruise will be touring the Pyramids and GEM in Cairo on Friday, so you can simply join them before the cruise begins.

  Hot Air Balloon Ride: This takes place early in the morning before sunrise on Day 2 of the Nile cruise. You'll return in time for breakfast, and the regular sightseeing program starts at around 9:00 AM, so you won't miss any of the included itinerary.
  
  Nubian Village Visit: This excursion begins at around 3:00 PM on Day 4 of the tour, after the day's main sightseeing activities have finished.
  
  Karnak Sound & Light Show: This is scheduled for Day 1 at approximately 7:00 PM, during your free time in the evening.
  
  None of these optional activities affect the main tour itinerary, as they are all scheduled during free time outside the included sightseeing program.

  If you choose to visit Abu Simbel on the last day, you can expect to be back in Aswan at around 3:00 PM. In that case, we'll arrange your domestic flight from Aswan to Cairo with a departure of approximately 5:00 PM.

For tours departing after November 21st, 2026, a minimum payment of 15% is required to confirm your booking with Holiday In Egypt. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 65 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
