  I have a question about who the actual tour operator is for this tour. A question was asked of me that if I book this through TourRadar, does it go through World Adventure Tours and also thru on on site tour company, or is World Adventure Tours the on site tour company? My client is worried that there are too many people involved in the booking.

    So if I book it as a travel agent with Archer Travel for my clients, on the TourRadar TA site, your company would be my point of contact throughout my clients trip (just in case something goes wrong) and they contact me. They are worried that when they go, and there is a problem with the people escorting them, who they contact. Me, and then I contact you, and then you contact them. Or is there someone locally with World Adventures to take care of it. For instance, if they hate their hotel and want to upgrade. Or they want to do an add on after getting there. Or transfer person doesn't get there. Things like that. Is this two agencies involved in this booking?

On the ground in Tanzania, operations are handled by our trusted local partner, Zara Tanzania Adventures, who manage the safari vehicles, guides, lodges, and all day-to-day logistics. In addition to this, we also have a locally based support structure in Tanzania, meaning there is always someone available on the ground to assist immediately with any situation during the trip, whether it is a hotel concern, a transfer issue, or any requested changes such as upgrades or additional activities. So in practice, it is not a "two separate agencies" situation from the client's perspective. It is one coordinated operation: World Adventure Tours handles planning and coordination, Zara Tanzania Adventures handles on-the-ground execution, Local support team + guides are available 24/7 during travel in case of any issue during the trip, clients can contact their guide directly first (fastest response), and if needed, our local operations team will resolve it immediately. There is no need for multiple layers of communication through the agent unless preferred. For example: If a transfer is delayed, the guide/driver or local office resolves it directly. If a hotel upgrade is requested, it is handled locally subject to availability. If any issue arises, it is addressed on the ground immediately. We ensure smooth direct support so clients are never left waiting or pushed between multiple parties.

  What wildlife can I expect to see in January and is early, mid or late Jan better? What is the weather like? I am interested in viewing large cats for sure (lions, leopards, cheetahs). What are the baggage restrictions and weight and size restrictions for baggage since we are mostly travelling between sites in the same vehicle. During the safari, are there bathroom break opportunities?

    January is an excellent time for safari in Tanzania, especially in central Serengeti areas. This is typically the calving season, which attracts a high concentration of wildlife activity. You can expect to see: Lions, leopards, and cheetahs (excellent chance of sightings, especially cheetahs in open plains), Large herds of wildebeest and zebras (depending on movement patterns in the Serengeti), Elephants, giraffes, buffalo, hippos, and many antelope species, Increased predator activity due to the presence of young animals. Early, mid, or late January are all good, with mid to late January often offering slightly higher wildlife concentration as migration patterns settle in the Serengeti region. January is generally warm and pleasant: Daytime temperatures: warm to hot, Occasional short rains, usually not disruptive to game drives, Landscapes are green and scenic, ideal for photography. There are no strict baggage restrictions on our safari vehicles. However, we recommend: 1 check-in bag per person, A carry-on bag is perfectly fine. Your camera bag is acceptable. Our 4x4 safari jeeps are spacious, with: Guaranteed window seat for each guest, Pop-up roof for game viewing and photography. Yes, there are regular bathroom break opportunities during the safari: At designated park gates and picnic sites, Planned stops during game drives for comfort and convenience.

    Can you arrange extra night stay and what will it cost? For baggage in addition to the camera bag I will carry a suitcase. Is that fine or you need something soft like a duffle bag. Once I put in the deposit is the trip guaranteed even if you don't have other passengers to go on the same dates? Please send guidelines for gratuity. How much money to convert to your currency? I understand that the money can be converted at the airport and use of credit cards may be difficult once on the safari.

    Do you have a recommended packing list of things to bring. Would you be able to provide a bean bag to rest the camera lens on the window? For meals I am a non vegetarian but currently on a preferred vegetarian diet with occasional non vegetarian food. Expected temperatures range to plan appropriate clothing.

    Yes, we can arrange extra nights before the safari. The cost is usually USD 50 per person sharing on a bed and breakfast basis. Regarding baggage, we can accommodate a suitcase, however, if you have a duffle bag, it is much better and more convenient for safari travel. Yes, once you place the deposit, your safari departure is guaranteed even if no other clients join the group. In terms of tips, we generally recommend USD 15 to 20 per person per day. You can easily use USD during the safari, so there is no need to convert everything into Tanzanian Shillings. Yes, you can exchange money at the airport. Credit cards can still be used at the hotels in case you have any extra bills to settle, mainly drinks, as these are the only items not included under full board accommodation. I can also check on the availability of a bean bag for photography and get back to you. We can accommodate both vegetarian and non-vegetarian meal preferences. For late January, expected temperatures are generally: Early mornings and evenings: around 15°C to 20°C, Daytime: around 25°C to 30°C. The weather is usually warm with occasional short rains, and the landscapes are very green and beautiful during this period.

    On the vaccine front there are a lot of recommendations, which are really necessary. And will bottled water be available always? I don't drink alcohol. Apart from the gratuities and some allowance for some souvenirs, how much should I budget per day in USD? I don't have a duffle bag and I will need something with wheels since I am traveling alone. Regarding photography, is it usually through the roof of the safari? Would it help to bring a monopod to steady the camera or the windows will be open too?

    Yes, bottled water is always provided. There are no mandatory vaccines for travelers from the USA/Canada to Tanzania. Yellow fever vaccination is recommended if possible. That is okay. Even without a duffel bag, a wheeled suitcase will do. You can take photographs from the roof or through the windows as they open as well. Regarding the budget, USD 50 per day is more than enough for tips and possibly souvenirs. For souvenirs, you can also use your card in most places.

    Yellow fever vaccine is not recommended for people above 60. So I won't get that. Also my flight will be via Europe so no chance of coming through a yellow fever area. Also I will carry a certificate that yellow fever is not possible for my age as suggested by the Tanzania website.

    We have several formed groups. One option is arrival on the 13th to start the tour on the 14th, with a solo female traveler aged 36. Our vehicles have a maximum capacity of 6 guests, and everyone is guaranteed a window seat. We also have other groups, mostly with two people traveling together. We also have an arrival on the 14th with two sisters in their late 40s to early 50s.

    Yes, this is correct. If you choose to arrive a day earlier or depart a day later, we can arrange accommodation at the same hotel. For the above dates, the booked client is staying at Serengeti Central Lodge, and we can accommodate you there as well. Priority is always given to the planned lodges.

    Yes, we can add an extra night in the Serengeti.
    At Central Serengeti, the cost is USD 300 per person per night, and in Northern Serengeti it is USD 450 per person per night. Though adding an extra night makes the tour private.
    
    Please note that the Great Wildebeest River Crossing is not guaranteed, but it is a highly rewarding experience when it occurs.
    
    For Zanzibar, an all-inclusive stay is approximately USD 2,000 for 4 nights.

    29 to 2 days before arrival: 65% cancellation fee

    We recommend booking at least two rooms if all guests are adults, as the rooms are not large enough to comfortably accommodate five adults in one room, except in the Serengeti where we can offer a family room and its quite spacious. We can arrange one triple room and one double or twin room.

    If we may have up to 12 people in my party, would that mean that you would have 2 jeeps available so that we can all stay together on the same safari? If so, should 1 person make the reservation and put 12 people on the reservation so we all stay together? Also if someone has a machine that they plug in at night for sleep apnea, what kind of plugs do you use in Africa and can you plug in electronics on the night that is in a tent (camping)?

    For a group of 12 guests, we will arrange two private safari jeeps exclusively for your group. If it is more convenient, one person may proceed with the booking and include all travellers under the same reservation. Regarding electricity, Tanzania uses Type G plugs (UK-style three-pin sockets). You will be able to plug in the sleep apnea machine as well as other devices that require charging. This is also available in the camps as well.
