7-Day Tanzania Tour Packages
Want a solid Tanzania safari that hits the key parks? It’s got to be the Serengeti for wildlife and migration, Ngorongoro Crater, and Tarangire for elephants and baobabs. You could swap Tarangire for Lake Manyara and its tree-climbing lions, or extend to Zanzibar's beaches. Tanzania's safari infrastructure is excellent, with good lodges, experienced guides, and well-managed parks. The wildlife viewing rivals anywhere globally.

- Day 1
Kilimanjaro Airport to Moshi
- Day 2
Lake Manyara National Park
Take an early 3-hour drive to Lake Manyara. Morning is the best time to spot active wildlife including tree-climbing lions and large elephant herds near the lake. You can visit an authentic Maasai village in the afternoon for an extra $50. Bring binoculars to spot the amazing variety of birds along the shore.

- Days 3-4
Serengeti National Park
The 5-6 hour drive to Serengeti is scenic and you can stop at Olduvai Gorge archaeological site. You'll spend two full days on game drives across the vast plains. "Our guide knew exactly where to position us for the best wildlife viewing - we spent an unforgettable hour watching five lionesses with their 20 cubs playing near a rock outcropping."

- Day 5
Ngorongoro Crater
- Day 6
Tarangire National Park
- Day 7
Return to Kilimanjaro
7 Days in Tanzania, incl. Moshi and Mount Kilimanjaro
The trail rises from Machame Gate (1500m) through 5 distinct climate zones. Key landmarks include Lava Tower, Barranco Wall, and iconic glacier views. The 70km route culminates in a challenging summit night pushing 7km to Uhuru Peak (5895m).

- Day 1
Moshi to Machame Camp
Your journey starts with a short 45-minute drive from Moshi (1,400m) to Machame Gate. After registration you'll begin a 7-hour climb through lush rainforest to reach Machame Camp (3,000m). "Our guides were incredible at pacing us, constantly reminding us 'pole pole' (slowly slowly) which was key to acclimatization." The forest trails can get muddy so trekking poles are essential.
- Day 2
Machame Camp to Shira Camp
A 6-hour trek takes you from Machame Camp to Shira Camp (3,840m). You'll notice the landscape change from forest to rocky moorland. On clear days you can see Kilimanjaro's Western Breach. Take some short walks near camp in the afternoon to help your body adjust to the altitude.
- Day 3
Shira Camp to Barranco Camp
Today you'll climb to the Lava Tower (4,600m) before going down to Barranco Camp (3,950m). This up-and-down helps your body acclimatize. "The altitude really hits you at Lava Tower. Stay hydrated and move slowly—our guides made us drink 3-4 liters daily which made a huge difference."
- Day 4
Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp
The day begins with the Barranco Wall, a steep section that needs some basic climbing skills. It looks scary but good guides will help you through it. The trail continues to Karanga Camp (4,200m). Use your hiking poles on the way down to protect your knees.
- Day 5
Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp
A shorter but steep climb brings you to Barafu Camp (4,600m). This is your launching point for the summit. Rest up and get ready for the midnight climb. One experienced climber suggests: "Force yourself to eat well at dinner even if you have no appetite—you'll need the energy for summit night."
- Day 6
Summit Day - Barafu to Uhuru Peak to Mweka Camp
Start at midnight and climb 6-7 hours in the dark and cold (-10°C to -20°C) to reach Stella Point (5,756m) at sunrise. One more hour takes you to Uhuru Peak (5,895m). "The final push was the hardest thing I've ever done, but watching the sunrise from the Roof of Africa made every step worth it." Afterward descend to Mweka Camp (3,100m) for your last night on the mountain.
- Day 7
Mweka Camp to Moshi
A 3-4 hour walk down through forest brings you to Mweka Gate (2,000m) where you'll get your summit certificates. Head back to Moshi for a hot shower and celebration. "Getting to the top takes more mental strength than physical fitness. The right guide team makes all the difference."
7 Days Kilimanjaro Climbing, incl. Marangu Route and Uhuru Peak
The classic Kilimanjaro route spans 7 days: 2 nights at Panama Garden Resort and 4 in mountain huts. The 65km trail crosses 5 ecological zones, from Marangu Gate (1,860m) to Uhuru Peak (5,895m), visiting Mandara, Horombo, and Kibo Huts.

- Day 1
Moshi Arrival and Preparation
Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport and take a 45-minute transfer to Moshi town. Check your equipment and rent any missing gear locally. It's best to arrive at least 24 hours before your climb to acclimatize and organize your gear. Don't skip the pre-climb briefing - it's essential for understanding what lies ahead.

- Day 2
Marangu Gate (1,860m) to Mandara Hut (2,700m)
- Day 3
Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut (3,720m)
Take on a moderate 10km trek through moorland vegetation lasting 5-6 hours. You'll spot your first views of Kibo and Mawenzi peaks. For better acclimatization take a short afternoon walk 200m higher before returning to sleep at Horombo. One climber noted: "Lots of carbs, rice, noodles and veggies - the mountain food is actually amazing."

- Day 4
Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut (4,700m)
- Day 5
Summit Day - Kibo Hut to Uhuru Peak (5,895m) to Horombo Hut
Begin around midnight for the challenging summit push. The 16km round trip takes 9-12 hours total. Dress in layers since temperatures can drop below -20°C (-4°F). A previous climber advised: "Bring rain pants! The guides really cared that we made it to the summit and ensured we had everything we needed."

What people love about 7-day Tanzania tours
- Big Five Classic Safari in Tanzania **Sustainable Approach to Travel
It was a great experience. We got to see all the big five and more in more than one occasions. Our guide Abu did his best for us to see the most infact we got to see a live hunt of a pack of lions on a single buffalo and a hippo bull fight for territory which was the peak of all the tour. The hotels and staff were all helpful and above the standards of our expectations. Thankyou once again Tour Radar for this wonderful experience
- Kilimanjaro climbing machame route 7 days
Oh wow! What an experience! 2 day Safari, 7 day Kilimanjaro Machame hike and 1 day waterfall and coffee making experience. The Almighty Kilimanjaro team were attentive, super organised and absolutely knew their stuff! I would hesitate to book with them again. Special shout out to the boys I spent 7 days with in the Kilimanjaro Machame hike; Amiri (guide), Raheem (chef) and Amiri, Saleem, Amani, Jafari (porters). You guys are superstars and thank you for making a memory of a lifetime. Hakuna ✌️
- 7 Days Mount Kilimanjaro - Marangu Route
I and my other three friends did the Marangu 5 day trek. Frank met us and helped to ensure we had the correct equipment prior to beginning (tip-bring rain pants!). We were able to chat with our guide Noel as well and he gave us an overview of the five days. We each had three porters with a cook and two guides so our party had fifty total. Noel and Emmanuel (guides) were absolutely amazing. They really cared that we made it to the summit and ensured we had everything we needed (to include Noel making sure we got the nice cabins every night)! The food was more than five stars (lots of carbs, rice, noodles and veggies)-Muddy was an amazing Cook. Summit morning was awesome (for me), my sister had a little trouble but Noel and Emmanuel took such good care of her to make sure she reached the top. Lastly, Frank was able to hook us up with a few hours at a hotel to let us shower prior to our flight (we forgot about that). Overall. Steppe Dogs adventures is definitely the way to go!!!
