  I recently completed (or rather, attempted!) the 7-day Machame Route with Almighty Kilimanjaro, and while I didn't reach the summit, my experience with the company was nothing short of exceptional. Unfortunately, I had picked up a virus on my way into Tanzania and started the trek already coughing slightly. As we climbed higher, the cough exacerbated, and I began experiencing difficulty breathing and chest discomfort—early signs of High Altitude Pulmonary Edema (HAPE). Throughout this, my chief guide, Shaffi, and assistant guide, Alex, were incredible. They monitored me closely, for example, checking my heart rate and oxygen levels. When my cough flared up, Shaffi thoughtfully made me ginger tea to soothe it and carried my backpack to ease my load. They were endlessly encouraging, but more importantly, they knew when to prioritize safety over the summit. As my breathing difficulties worsened, Shaffi made the crucial call: "Your life is more important than climbing the mountain. The mountain will always be there." True to his word, he swiftly coordinated a rescue helicopter. The level of support didn't stop on the mountain: a ground crew was waiting for me as I landed, took me straight to a clinic for a medical check-up, and then safely transferred me to the hotel. Their professionalism, vigilance, and genuine compassion during a frightening medical emergency quite literally saved my life. Almighty Kilimanjaro operates with the highest standards of safety and care, and I cannot recommend Shaffi, Alex, and the entire team enough.   Oh wow! What an experience! 2 day Safari, 7 day Kilimanjaro Machame hike and 1 day waterfall and coffee making experience. The Almighty Kilimanjaro team were attentive, super organised and absolutely knew their stuff! I would hesitate to book with them again.   Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro has been a long-time dream for my sister and me, and reaching the summit together was an unforgettable moment. It was a huge challenge, but we were so happy when we finally stood on top. We truly couldn’t have done it without the amazing team supporting us every step of the way. Our main guide, Ombeni, was outstanding. He was highly professional and always brought a great sense of humor that kept spirits high. When things got tough, especially on summit night, he knew exactly how to motivate us and push us forward in the best and safest way possible. Peniel, our assisting guide, was so kind and caring throughout the entire journey. He made sure we arrived safely at every camp and always checked in on us. His support was absolutely invaluable, and his constant good mood made it so much better. A huge thank you to the chef, who managed to prepare delicious and nourishing meals despite the altitude, and to the waiter, whose service was incredible! And finally, our deepest appreciation goes to the porters. They are truly the ones who made this experience possible. Arriving at camp to their smiles and positive energy gave us an incredible boost every single day. Their hard work, strength, and enthusiasm cannot be praised enough. Our biggest and warmest recommendation to Almighty Kilimanjaro. And especially to this team. We will never forget the experience and you all!Show more

  Overall a good experience, despite suffering from AMS symptoms. The guide and crew did everything to make the trip as enjoyable as possible, and the wider company also ensured everything went smoothly, with airport runs, accommodation, etc. The main negative issue, dropping a star in the rating, was the tents used by Almighty. They are just not as stable as the geodesic design that most other operators are using, and have been for many years. Some of the campsites did get very windy, and my tent collapsed and filled with dust on more than one occasion. This lead to sleepless nights, which did not set me up for success!Show more

  I absolutely loved my experience with the Almighty Kilimanjaro team, especially with Muntari, Amari and chef Shabani! The whole team made the hike to the top of Kilimanjaro an absolute amazing journey and memory - I can not thank the team enough and have huge amounts of respect for their service and dedication to ensuring that I had the most exceptional time 😊 I would 100% recommend Almighty Kilimanjaro to anyone wanting to tick Kilimanjaro off their bucket list and to have the most amazing time whilst doing it.   Just finished hiking with my dad and brother, the 7 day Machame route with Almighty Kilimanjaro and had the most amazing experience. Could not recommend more. The whole team were incredible. We were surrounded by a group of happy, supportive and motivational legends who were none stop laughing together. Our lead guide Muntari was just the absolute best. Such a friendly person, making jokes all the time and helping lift the mood when needed. So knowledgeable about the mountain and also had advice for us whenever we were struggling with anything. Our second guide Apollinari was also great with lots of cool facts about the vegetation. Amani looked after us morning and night, very gently waking us up with morning tea and hot water to wash as well as encouraging us to eat even when we didn’t want to ! The food was excellent - we were shocked with the fab standard being up a mountain but Shabani our chef ensured our stomachs were always full with a great variety of food and we had fresh fruit every day as well as meat! The rest of the team ensured we arrived back at camp every day to our tents already set up and chairs for us to sit and always congratulating us. The porters do such hard work. Day 6 - summit day, was the toughest day of my life and we could not have done it without Muntari, Apollinari, Shabani and Amani who sang us to the top. True legends who even dragged my brother up when he needed it. We will never ever forget this experience! Thank you so much :))Show more
