Overall the tour was good, however, in my opinion, there was a lot of unnecessary travelling and certain locations were not as expected. Flying to Miami and staying in the terrible Sleep Inn hotel was awful. The staff were unfriendly and the area dubious with no facilities in the immediate vicinity. I did not want to venture out as a solo traveller in unfamiliar territory, the tour rep was not in the hotel to greet and give advice on places to eat due to her being held up. The following day, the group spent only one hour looking at South Beach and then headed up to Orlando which took around four and a half hours maybe more. Had I known this, I would have flown directly to Orlando and paid for an additional night in the Rui Plaza. Everyone appreciated having a day to explore and relax and Disney Springs was a great venue. St Augustine was really nice and the hotel was delightful as was the stroll to the restaurant area. The trip to Kennedy Space Centre was very good. A long trip over to Clearwater and the guide took us to the beach at 5.30-8.30 p.m. The beach and area was great, but the travelling and staying out till late was exhausting for everyone. To add insult, to injury, the hotel was sub-standard. We then took an unnecessary detour across to the east to the Everglades which took around 2 hours and then made the arduous journey all the way down to Key West landing at another poor hotel which was out of town. Luckily we had enough time to get showered and dressed up for the catamaran trip which was excellent. Time spent the next day was boring in Key West, it is very run down with nothing to see there! From there a six hour journey up to Miami where I had to persuade the tour guide to drop me near where I was staying in Miami giving they were driving past the hotel and then found out they had agreed to drop someone off at that same spot!!!! For me, Fly straight to Orlando and the time saved could be added onto the end of the tour by offering a day or two more in Miami and cutting out Key West. Additionally, I would have liked to have seen Fort Myers, we spent an hour in a shopping mall!! Naples was fantastic, but again, we travelled for hours and went to have a look round at 5.30-8.30. Everyone agreed they would have liked less time travelling and at least time to shower, dress up a little and go out to eat somewhere nice. Hope I haven't moaned too much. Thank you.
