This is not alway possible if something needs immediate attention. Please be aware that the five star accommodation on the luxury tour is only at the Hurghada resort and the Nile cruise. The other places that you will stay at are either not listed, (such as apartment style or similar).I was put up at the Locanda Museum Hotel in Cairo for a total of 5 nights and was listed in Expedia as a 2 1/2 star and Trivago as a three star. When I checked the rating of the other hotel, they did not have any rating at all. The Nile Cruise (Lefayan ) was very nice and the food was very good. The restaurant staff was exceptional. We came back from breakfast one day and found out our room was flooded because there was a leak from the Jacuzzi on the deck which got our room all wet. The staff came and mopped up the water in the room but they did not want to give us another room. The person at the front desk said that all the rooms were all booked and there are no more rooms available. The boards on the floor in the room were still seeping out water when we walked on them. My wife was afraid that she might slip on the wet floor so she wanted to get another room.She talked to the manager and then he gave us another room. When we went to the new room we noticed the corridor where we were staying said crew accommodation. My wife was not very pleased about the situation but I did not want to create a fuss so I said OK we will take this room. At least it is dry and not wet. I took a half an hour nap and I woke up with a very bad headache. My wife came into the room and she said that it smelled like gasoline/oil. After I woke up I could actually smell the noxious fumes. My wife had mentioned that some of her clothes had gotten all soaked from the leaks and she wanted to have them washed because she was not sure the water was clean that leaked into our room. They did honour this request. Of course this was not Golden Egypt’s fault that there was a leak in our room. We did later ask tGolden Egypt to have them request a partial refund ...possibly for half a day which got wasted with the bartering. But they had said that we got the room that we were supposed to get so we could not get any sort of compensation in that regards The Hurghada resort was very nice, food was great with lots of variety and the staff were very cordial and attentive. 95% of the people were at the pool and not many people were at the beach . The reason was that one had to take the bus to the beach or walk. We did go to the beach but it was not as nice as the pool area. I usually like to go to the beach when I go to a resort to listen to the waves splashing against the sand. But then that’s me. We were to fly back from Hurghada to Cairo. We asked a few times about our plane tickets but we did not get them. We were finally told that the flight that we were booked on was cancelled . There’s a suggestion that they would drive us by car back to Cairo. This would be about a 6 Hour drive versus the plane would take us a little over an hour. The representative from Golden Egypt Tours said if you look at the total time it would be close to about the same if you include the waiting at the airport and the ride to the airport. My suggestion is that you should make sure which plane and time that you are booked to Cairo and get the tickets early. When I checked, there are apparently 230 flights a week going back and forth from Hurghada to Cairo on different airlines. My wife was having some leg swelling and the doctor said that the best case scenario was from standing/sitting and the worst case scenario was a blood clot. The doctor told us what to look out for in case things got worse. Obviously it would not be good for us to take a 6 hour drive. versus a 1 + hour flight in case there was a medical emergency. I explained this and the next day we had a message from the manager at Golden Egypt trying to get us to take the car ride to Cairo. I explained again about the medical situation and they relented and booked us a flight ticket on a plane back to Cairo. I thanked the manager and said that we appreciated that we were not going to have to endure the 6 Hour drive in case there was an emergency.
