We booked this safari tour and were lucky to have Rose Nisagurwe Ketto as a wonderful guide and Zamoyoni S. Mage as a great driver. The two of them made the trip an unforgettable experience! Rose speaks very good German and always answered all our questions superbly. We saw so many animals (including the Big 5), which was also thanks to Zamoyoni's quick response and communication. Thank you both so much! Highly recommended and always happy to return! Best regards Samantha and Myrta

Issa, our guide was great. He is an excellent driver, guide and got us to places before everyone else showed up. He helped us to see so much wonderful wildlife a d give us a unique experience! Heidi is focused and does everything he can to make the trip unforgettable. I highly recommend him and feel lucky, that we got him as a guide. We traveled in a small group that got along really well. The lodges were good, some ongoing maintenance is lacking, such as doors closing properly, electrical outlets working well i stead of being worn out. The lodges are not very familiar with gluten sensitivity a d not eating any form of cane sugar. So they felt a little lost when preparing breakfast and lunch boxes! The Olduwai Gorge should be included so everyone goes there and have about 90 min. available.

We do offer the Shira hike at a cost of USD 250 per person. It is a six-hour hike, to and from the starting point, and takes you close to Kilimanjaro. If you are unable to take part in the tour, we offer rebooking at no additional charge. Should you prefer a refund instead of rebooking, a fee of 5 percent of the tour value will apply, which is the platform processing fee and is non-refundable, approximately USD 180.

As you are 83 years old, we would like to inform you that the tour involves extended hours in the safari vehicle. Days typically start between 7.00 and 8.00 in the morning and return to the lodge between 6.00 and 7.00 in the evening. If you are comfortable with these long drives across five days of safari, this trip will be suitable for you.

    Accommodation
    Tour Details
    • World Adventure ToursOperatorWritten November 2025

We can check availability and provide a quote for Mbalageti Serengeti. Changing the accommodation will make the tour private, since the distance between the lodges does not allow for joining a group departure.

    • K

      Kathy

      TravelerWritten November 2025

Our dates are flexible, looking at around mid-April 2026. A general quote would be very beneficial in helping us work out our budget for the trip, if possible.

    • World Adventure ToursOperatorWritten November 2025

The extra charge is USD 300 per night, totaling USD 600 for the two nights at Mbalageti Serengeti. For April, the available room category is the Tented Chalet.

    • K

      Kathy

      TravelerWritten November 2025

Would the cost be the same if we were to change the tour to early June? If we just book the tour without the upgrade are we able to choose to stay at the Serengeti Wildebeest Camp rather than the lodge?

    • World Adventure ToursOperatorWritten November 2025

In June, the price will be slightly higher. It will be USD 1,200 for 2 nights in the tented chalet, or USD 700 for 2 nights at the Mbalageti Serengeti Lodge. If you prefer not to upgrade and stay at Serengeti Wildebeest Camp, this can be arranged at no additional cost.

    Asked on October 2nd, 2025

I'm very interested in booking the Big Five Classic Safari in Tanzania as a birthday trip in mid-March. This would be a solo trip for me, but I'd like to join a group tour since I enjoy meeting new people and would feel safer that way. I had a few questions before booking: 1. Total Cost – Could you please confirm the total cost per person for the full 7-day package, including any additional fees? 2. Flights – Am I correct in understanding that I'll need to arrange my own round-trip flights to and from Kilimanjaro? 3. Safety – Since I'll be traveling solo, how safe is the tour in terms of group setting, accommodations, and transport? 4. Hot Air Balloon Ride – Is it possible to add a hot air balloon experience during the trip? 5. Photography – Can I arrange for a photographer (either through your company or as an add-on service) to capture parts of my experience?

    • World Adventure ToursOperatorWritten October 2025

Total Cost – The cost of the safari is USD 1,835 plus a single room supplement fee of USD 300, totaling USD 2,135. Flights – You will need to arrange your own round-trip flights to and from Kilimanjaro International Airport. Safety – The tour is very safe. We work with carefully selected accommodations, and you will be secure at all times. We recommend staying within the accommodation area. If you wish to go outside in Arusha or Moshi, one of our representatives can accompany you. Hot Air Balloon Ride – It is possible to add a hot air balloon experience to your itinerary. Photography – Having a dedicated photographer within a group setting can be challenging. However, fellow travelers are often happy to assist with taking photos during the safari.

The best time to witness the migration is in mid August. However, please note that the migration is a natural event and cannot be guaranteed, even during this period. This tour takes place in the Central Serengeti and does not include the river crossing. If you would like to add the Northern Serengeti experience, the cost is USD 300 per additional night, and we usually recommend a minimum of 2 nights.
