It is a detailed day to day itinerary of the tour and gives you handy tips and information. To help budget, we have also included approximate prices for the optional activities/excursions available on the tour.

Can dietary requirements be accommodated on the tour?

Dietary needs can be accommodated with prior notification to ensure appropriate meals are available throughout the tour.

How can I arrange room sharing during the tour?

You can request to share a room with another traveler by providing their name at the time of booking to ensure arrangements.

Are transfers available from the airport to the tour's starting point?

Yes, transfers can be arranged from the airport to the starting hotel of the tour. Details and costs can be found in the pre-departure information sent upon booking confirmation.

Are there any additional fees travelers should be aware of?

Travelers should budget for personal items, drinks, and some meals. While game park fees are included in the Adventure Pass, visas and health precautions are separate expenses.

What options are available if I cannot obtain a visa on time?

This is separate and in addition to the Tour Price, and covers selected park entries, activities and excursions along the way where payment goes directly to the supplier to ensure local suppliers benefit directly from the income. It covers: Matobo National Park, Open Vehicle Game Drive and Wilderness Walk with Resident Guide, South Luangwa National Park, Open Vehicle Game Drive with Resident Guide, and Serengeti & Ngorongoro Crater Excursion in Purpose Built Safari Vehicles, Game Drives with Resident Guide.

How much does it cost for airport transfers at the start of the tour?

We recommend arriving at least a day before the tour starts to manage any potential delays. Airport transfers and pre/post tour accommodation can be booked at designated points at an additional cost.

What payments are accepted for the Adventure Pass?

The Adventure Pass must be paid in USD cash directly to the tour guide on the first day or at the pre-departure meeting. It covers various activities and park entries.

My friend and I are Chinese citizens and are really interested in joining the tour. We wonder if it's possible for you to come up with an invitation or some sort when we are applying for our South Africa visa? I heard that it may be hard for us to get a visa but it'd be a lot easier if there's a letter from a local tour company.

I found it was a tour of two halves due to a terrible tour guide that took over half way through. He did not make vegetarian options, saying that their is side is not an apporitate meal (e.g salad and a roll where everyone got hot dogs). He did not know his facts e.g the equator is to the east.... or the itinerary e.g we would sit around for an hour and he would be no where in sight and when he came about he would not know what we were waiting for. Also would start yelling at the whole group on three occasions. I go to learn about the area and the culture and I feel that I did not with rimz as such I would recommend g adventures as a reliable company that I have always had quality with.Show more

Not long back from this tour and I had a great time so I thought I'd let others know. Overall, the tour was well organised and the guides ensured we felt safe at all times. The truck was well equipped and I was surprised at how comfortable the seats were - so comfortable I was able to sleep despite the 'African massages' along the way. Despite the fact that some of the journeys were quite long, being able to sleep certainly helped. Some of the journeys on this trip are quite long but they are unavoidable if you want to see these parts of Africa. Anyway, the route was quite scenic and the guides provided info about the surrounding area along the way and we stopped every so often to stretch our legs. The main guide, Sammy, also informed us when to stock up on snacks and drinks at the better supermarkets as a lot of the local shops were poorly supplied as you can imagine. Most of the stops had some form of toilet however my group found that the bush toilets were generally cleaner (this is Africa after all). The tents provided were pretty good and the mattresses were spot on too. I have to say, one of the things I was anxious about before going on the trip was the quality of the meals as catering for large groups often leads to small portions of massively overdone food but both Sam and Ali were great cooks and we always had plenty to eat. We also stopped at local kitchens to try some of the local cuisine for lunch which was another good experience. Our particular group had lots of allergies/food intolerances (seafood, nuts, dairy, gluten and shellfish to name a few) and Sam always provided options for these people - to the extent that one person had to reject his meals so they could use up some of their own food to create some room in their suitcase. Finally, our guide Sammy was excellent along the way and his local knowledge was invaluable for us between helping getting currency changed to recommending where to buy gifts etc. One of the more negative reviews says to do this trip on your own steam which seems like a very romantic idea but without being able to speak the local language (Sam can speak 8 apparently) and knowing how to deal with the corrupt policemen you will only end up wishing you had someone like Sam guiding you. Bad point(s0: When I was at Lake Malawi the lake was quite rough so snorkelling wasn't going to be worthwhile but I guess it's just one of those things and Acacia can't exactly control the weather Highlights of the trip: South Luangwa - we were fortunate to get VERY close to a pair of lions in heat The Serengeti - seeing The Great Wildebeest Migration was spectacular Would recommend.Show more

Payment information
- For any tour departing before July 2nd, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after July 2nd, 2026, a minimum payment of $300 is required to confirm your booking with Acacia Adventure Holidays. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 61 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
