  On the 12 day Kenya and Tanzania 4Wheel dr Safari, i wanted to find out about the camping. is it bring your own tent and pitch it? or is it staying in permanent tent camps? are there cots, or is it sleep on a mat?

    Ok so in Kenya the lodges we normally use are:
    Mara Sopa Lodge or similar.
    Nakuru Sopa Lodge or similar.
    
    In Tanzania
    In Tarangire at Kudu Lodge or similar
    In Serengeti National Park at Pimbi Campsite or Serengeti Tortilis Camp.
    In Ngorongoro at Ngorongoro Wildlife Lodge or similar

  From early September this year, my partner and I are interested in doing an approximately 2 week (give or take a couple of days either side) Kenya/Tanzania safari, followed by a separate week to 10 days in Zanzibar (we can arrange this part separately if necessary). We would be looking at the usual sorts of places on the safari (definites being Masai Mara, Amboseli, Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater, with added places like Lake Nakuru, Lake Manyara and Tangarire desired too). We would be interested in extra value added experiences too, especially witnessing tribal culture. Accommodation wise we would prefer decent standard lodges with good food options. It doesn't have to be 5 star luxury, but clean and comfortable with en-suite facilities is required. The most important aspect of the accommodation though is cool, well ventilated rooms. Ideally with air conditioning but at the very least with fast, efficient ceiling fans. This is of deal-breaking importance as I have sleep apnoea and breathing issues, and will not be able to sleep well in hot, stuffy accommodation, rendering everything else pretty much pointless. We went on a safari in South Africa, and the accommodation was never an issue, but from what I have seen so far, it looks more complicated in Kenya and Tanzania for some reason? Please could you advise on this.

  I wanted to know more about the camping accommodations - your website says - under Accommodation - "see full inclusions for details". But I cannot find that on the website. Grateful if you could either tell me where to find the "full inclusions" or a little detail about what the camping facilities include, and what we need to bring.

    I wanted details of the camping - are there bathroom facilities? Showers? Do we need to bring towels, soap and shampoo?Are there cots for sleeping in the tents? Is there bedding? The only thing I saw on the list of things to pack was a travel pillow.

    Yes, the camps are fully equipped with bathroom, showers, towels, soap.
    We recommend bringing your own shampoo or conditioner.
    There are beds in the tents.
    The bedding is included as well.

    We use Toyota hiace 4x4 safari vans for the Kenya group joining safaris and are of sitting capacity of 8 pax.

    Are you confined to the wheelchair or can you walk some distances? Does the wheelchair fold up or is it electric? These types of questions will help us see if we can find a option for you that would work.

    I cannot walk at all. My wheelchair is a manual chair, quite small ,about 750x750x750 mm. I am reasonably agile and can transfer from place to place with some effort. With my wife giving me a push occasionally I have managed to travel around the world. The back of the chair folds down and the chair dismantles quite easily.

    Our team explained that this tour as it is, won't be an easy trip for you as there are a lot of transfers involved and change of vehicles and in group joining it would really be unsuitable. If it were a private option and medium range is where we have most facilities for someone in a wheelchair.
    
    We would like to suggest either Kenya safari and to be medium range lodges not the basic camping as this we do not have any facilities that will accommodate you.
    
    For this option private safari would be.
    
    4/9 - arrival airport transfer wildebeest
    5/9 - nairobi masai mara sopa lodge
    6/9 - masai mara
    7/9 - masai mara / lake nakuru lodge
    8/9 - lake nakuru / wildebeest camp
    9/9 - nairobi / arusha - 4-star hotel
    10/9 - a rush lake manyara - semi luxury camp
    11/9 - lake manyara tarangire
    12/9 - Tarangire /Serengeti
    13/9 - Serengeti
    14/9 - Serengeti /Ngorongoro
    15/9 - Ngorongoro arusha
    16/9 - Arusha flight home
    
    Accommodations in Tanzania will be medium range to be advise upon booking as it's still peak season we confirm the lodges we find available. Kenya will be by 4x4 tourist van and private transfer to Arusha and Tanzania safari is 4x4 Land cruiser

  Looking to do this tour on the last week of August/early September but wondering if this can be customized at all for two travelers between 14-15 days? It will be a honey moon trip! Looking to add on the following: Balloon Ride Great Migration Add on Zanzibar, maybe three nights with Scuba Diving Victoria Falls We would like a moderate level of activities! Also wondering what the accommodations will be like?
