  Far too much time on a bus between hotels. Most of 4 days were travelling. The transportation arrangements were very opaque - bus changes, a lot of time on multiple pick-ups, never knowing about meals or approximate travel times. Example 1: We paid for an optional tour. Nowhere in the itinerary was it listed, nor was a pickup time or day ever sent to us. We were surprised when, getting ready for dinner, we received a call that our pickup for the night hike was here and we had 5 minutes. We had no chance of making that, and they wouldn't wait. I won't hold my breath on a refund. Example 2: twice the itinerary said "breakfast", but we never received breakfast enroute. Breakfast was included at the hotels, but the pickup was before the restaurants opened. We had to buy them. When food enroute was provided, the "mouth-watering" meals were very basic buffets of rice & beans, boiled vegetables, scrambled eggs, some fruit, etc. Note: we asked for more details several times, but were referred to the itinerary or re-sent the same itinerary. The contact number hours say only Tuesday through Thursday which made contact basically impossible.Show more

  This is a well constructed tour for solos and families. The tour company is very responsive to questions. A lot of downtime is built in so you can either rest or schedule your additional activities. I deducted one star because the food quality was way over sold.Show more

  The sites, the guides and the local people were all great. I travelled solo and met some amazing people from all over the world. Food was pretty good and I liked the local beers. The nature and flora were simply amazing. The only thing I suggest, a better time on the Transports. I knew that I was being picked up in the morning, but no idea what time? Also, I was switched to a different hotel on my first stop, one that was 2km out of town from the original hotel. No big deal, but it would've been nice to know. Got my steps in going to town and back!Show more

  This was a total enjoyment, stress-free holiday! The trip was very well-organized. It was so wonderful to have all of our transports, lodging, and activities arranged. All the transports, rooms, and resorts were spotless, comfortable, and beautiful. Truly exceeded my expectations. It was an unforgettable holiday. I have 2 suggestions: 1) Include Day 5 on the print-out itinerary. 2) Provide a better explanation of the travel involved on day 6 from Tortuguero to Puerto Viejo (e.g. explain that after a 2 hour boat ride and 2 hour transport, you will take another 5 hour transport to Puerto Viejo).Show more

  Well organized, timely pick ups from the hotels, tour guides are very knowledgeable, timely communication with tour agency, hotels via WhatsApp and TourRadar message box. Tour itself was very interesting, informative, particularly for nature lovers. Monkeys, snakes, caimans, birds, iguanas, etc - all in proximity, however you are safe because the tour guide is with you. Tours are adjusted and conducted according to weather conditions, so you will not miss it. Thank you.Show more

  "We were extremely pleased with the TourRadar package we purchased to tour Costa Rica. From the time we were picked up at the airport to our departure, we felt well taken care of. We were very pleased with the accommodations, food and the timeliness of the van drivers. We especially enjoyed our tour guides in Arenal (Marlon), and Tortuguero (Ronny Zuniga and Harvey Valentine) as well as in Cahuita (Rudolfo). Their extensive knowledge of the parks, the local flora and fauna and Costa Rica in general was very impressive. Their language skills and their sense of humor added so much to the experience. We highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting to see that beautiful country."Show more

  I had a great time the tourist service that accompanied my trip was amazing hotel stay was great people were warm and welcoming amazing food nature wildlife and culture overall. I didnt get to do everything I hoped to example snorkeling cause of the rain but we cannot control nature and I was waiting for my transport to take me back from one of my stays but did not show up and had to wait hours for the next one. The tourist agent acted immediately and booked me another one. All and all I had a great time and looking to book this experience for touring purposes again.Show more

  I liked everything about the tour except that at the start, I was confused about how it would be organized. I was under the impression when I signed up for this tour, it would be with a guide and a group of 20 or less, who would travel together throughout the entire tour. Instead, we were shifted from place to place with no tour leader and no set group. Everything worked out, but we were concerned at the beginning because we had expected to meet our tour leader and others in our group at our initial hotel in San Jose. Instead, a driver, who said he knew nothing about our tour other than our names and destination, picked us up at our hotel on Sunday morning and drove us 4 hours to La Fortuna, dropped us off at the hotel, and left. We tried to get in touch with you through Destination Services, but it was a Sunday and it wasn't really an emergency--just a lack of clarity. The front desk person at Montechiardi hotel was very helpful and explained that we probably were on an individual tour--linked by your arrangements for transportation, lodging, and excursions. It turned out she was right and all of our connections worked out well. We had a good time. The park guides on our walks at each location were excellent--very knowledgable and very friendly. I would recommend that you review the description of this tour as it appears on your website, so that others will not face this confusion. Perhaps I just did not read it carefully enough, but it could have been more specific. Another suggestion: As many of the van drivers did not speak much English and were not "guides", you might consider providing some written material/ interesting background about things the passengers were seeing from the vans during the long rides from place to place. There was only one driver who did this and he was the leader of a large group, not the driver. It was the one time we were on a large bus rather than a van.Show more
