How do we get from Johannesburg to Pretoria

Pretoria is about a 1 hour journey from Johannesburg's main international airport. We can arrange a transfer to collect you and drop you at our tour start point hotel. There is also a train service from the airport (the 'Gautrain'), and taxis etc.

I am okay with this trip. We are three adult. I can join from Dec 17 to Dec 31

Just to be clear, this tour has scheduled departure dates: depart Pretoria 13Dec/ end Pretoria 26Dec; depart Pretoria 27Dec/ end Pretoria 09Jan26; Regrettably we cannot assist for 17/ 31 Dec.

We are looking to take up 14-day Kruger to the Delta, Chobe & Victoria Falls (Accommodated) tour but want to see Capetown for 4-6 days at the end of the trip. Can you suggest ways of including this also when we book for 14 day tour. Please recommend safe tours to Cape Town and surrounding areas.

Are you interested in seeing Cape Town and immediate surrounds only? Or include some of the Garden Route? Kindly note, clients would be responsible for their own flight bookings.

These tour run on scheduled departure dates, sadly 20 December is not one of them. We can only offer 13 December or 27 December.

Do we have enough time to go to Livingstone, Zambia and return. if possible would you be able to arrange transport? What would be the cost?

The group will arrive in Victoria Falls on the afternoon of Day 6 and on Day 7 you will visit the Falls in the morning. The rest of the day is spent at leisure or partaking in the many optional activities available in Victoria Falls. While on tour, our crew will be happy to assist with the logistics and with arranging a transfer from Zimbabwe to Zambia. The cost is approximately AUD150 /person, one way depending on start and end points of your excursion.

Is there another trip that includes Kruger National, Blyde Canyon, Victoria Falls and the Big 5 encounters?

We have 4 adults possibly 6 going how do we get on same group and pay separately?

What is the fitness level? Do you allow solo travelers? Do you have a solo traveler fee? Are the accommodations in lodges or are they campgrounds?

We kindly ask that clients are able-bodied and in relatively good health. There aren't any long distance walks but one must be able to get in an out of a high raised vehicle with ease and be able to withstand some longer drives, often bumpy roads. A single supplement is optional, or you will share a room with a fellow solo passenger of the same gender.

How do I add another person to my booking?

To add another person to your booking, you would need to 'approve' the change and update the 'Travellers Details' in the booking system.

As I am currently 69, and my back and knees are a little weak, but functioning quite well, I am concerned about the vehicle we would be travelling in. I guess we would be on rough dirt roads often and am wondering about the suspension? Also, what would be the duration of most journeys?

Do we prepare our meals at night or are they prepared for us? Is it possible to buy a bottle of wine at night?

I would suggest that you are more transparent with park fees. Having been on tour I absolutely understand the cost but with it being considerable - people need to budget for it.   Johannesburg and Pretoria are neighbouring cities. Pretoria is the administrative capital, Johannesburg is the largest city and commercial centre. Oliver Tambo International is the major international airport. We can arrange a transfer to collect you at the airport and transfer to the start point hotel in Pretoria. Transfer time by road is approx 1 hour.

  There is no strenuous walking involved on this tour. We have one morning where - if you wish - you can walk in the Okavango Delta (mostly flat dirt pathways in the bush) but there is no compulsion to do so.

  The vehicle is a 12 seater mini-bus... and roads are for the most part sealed and of reasonable quality but there are some sections of unsealed road. In game parks most vehicles are 4x4 safari vehicles. Roads are mostly unsealed and can be bumpy in some places but not in our view excessively so.

Payment information
- For any tour departing before June 10th, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after June 10th, 2026, a minimum payment of $300 is required to confirm your booking with Acacia Adventure Holidays. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 61 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
