    Dennis

    Asked on March 9th, 2026

Is the weather in April favourable for someone with allergies?

    Tour Details
    • Expat Explore TravelOperatorWritten March 2026

For April, the Europe Jewel tour travels through northern and central Europe, including the Netherlands, Germany, Czechia, Austria, Hungary, Slovenia, Italy, Switzerland, France, and Belgium.

April weather can be pleasant but variable—temperatures are generally mild (around 10–18°C / 50–65°F), but some regions, especially in the Alps or Swiss areas, can still be chilly.

For someone with allergies, April is the start of spring pollen season, especially in areas with lots of flowering trees and grass. Some travellers with pollen allergies may notice symptoms, particularly in outdoor settings.

Tips for managing allergies while on tour:

Bring allergy medications or nasal sprays if you normally use them.
Check daily pollen forecasts in each city.
Try to plan outdoor activities for mornings or days when pollen levels are lower.

I would just like to know if this tour is guaranteed to run, as we have just had our tour cancelled on us which has left us is a very difficult situation. I definitely don't want to book another tour and find we are in the same boat just with less time to try and sort other options

    Tour Details
    • Expat Explore TravelOperatorWritten March 2026

For the Europe Jewel, while we always strive to ensure that all our tours proceed as scheduled, there can occasionally be unforeseen circumstances that affect operations. That said, Expat Explore works hard to ensure departures run as planned and cancellations are quite rare.

In the unlikely event that a tour cannot proceed, you would be contacted as soon as possible and provided with alternative options, such as transferring to another departure or another tour.

    Asked on February 2nd, 2026

Do you offer Indian vegeterain food. Are you offering only breakfast at hotel? No lunch from you?

    Meals
    • Expat Explore TravelOperatorWritten February 2026

Daily breakfast is included at the hotels. Lunch is not included and is usually taken during free time or scheduled comfort stops, allowing you the flexibility to choose meals that suit your preferences. Some dinners are included on certain days (for example, when staying in the Swiss Alps or on specific itinerary nights). On other evenings, dinner is at your own choice. Vegetarian meals are widely available throughout Europe, and hotels and included dinners can usually accommodate vegetarian dietary requirements when notified in advance. While specifically Indian-style vegetarian food cannot be guaranteed, you will have frequent opportunities to dine at local restaurants, including Indian or vegetarian-friendly options, especially in larger cities. If you have any specific dietary requirements, please let us know at the time of booking so we can note them accordingly.

  • J

    Jeremy

    Asked on January 9th, 2026

How demanding is this trip with walking? What transportation between each location, what is the start and ending point, is food and drinks included.

    Meals
    Tour Details
    Transport
    • Expat Explore TravelOperatorWritten January 2026

Our tours are generally medium to fast-paced. Expect regular walking every day, especially during city sightseeing, old towns, and historic areas. Walking is usually broken up with stops, but some days can involve a few hours on your feet (often on cobblestones or uneven surfaces). You don't need to be an athlete, but a reasonable level of mobility and stamina is important.

Travel between destinations is primarily by private, air-conditioned coach, as we are a coach-based touring company. On some itineraries (depending on the region), there may also be internal flights, train or rail journeys. The exact mix depends on the specific tour and destination.

Tours usually start and end at a designated hotel in the first and last city of the itinerary. Regarding this tour, it starts and ends in Amsterdam. Meeting times are typically in the morning (around 10:00 am) on Day 1, and tours usually finish in the morning on the final day. Exact hotel details are confirmed closer to departure (usually 30–60 days prior).

Breakfast is included daily at the hotels. Some tours include a few group dinners (this varies by itinerary). Lunches, most dinners, and all drinks (including alcohol) are generally not included, giving you flexibility to choose where and what you eat. Optional excursions often include meals or tastings when relevant.

    Asked on January 2nd, 2026

Can you please confirm if three travelers can share a triple room and provide the pricing details for the triple sharing room? Additionally, we would appreciate more information on luggage allowance and any potential taxes they might need to pay in different countries.

    Accommodation
    Group size
    Price / Availability
    • Expat Explore TravelOperatorWritten January 2026

Please note that as per European hotel rules and policy, three travelers are not permitted to stay in one room with twin beds, this cannot be allowed. The tour package inclusion is for Twin Share Rooms (Twin Beds). Therefore the third traveler would need to either be roomed with a fellow traveler of the same gender or purchase a single supplement.

Each Traveller is allowed to bring one main piece of luggage weighing no more than 20kg, and one small soft bag (such as a small daypack or backpack) for hand luggage weighing a maximum of 7kg. On all tours, you will have to carry your own luggage (e.g. into hotels and up to your room if hotels don't have elevators). Please bear this in mind when you are deciding what to pack.

Please note that this is provisional and not final, and is subject to change. You will receive your final Tour Leader Announcement approximately 14 days prior to departure, which will include all confirmed tour details, including hotels.

Should you wish to book pre- or post-tour accommodation at the same hotel, this would need to be arranged independently. Please contact the hotel directly to check availability, or alternatively, you may explore options via Booking.com or any other hotel platform of your choice.
