This trip is available as camping or accommodated. When you choose the accommodated option, your nights will be spent in ensuite chalets. bungalows and permanent tented camps. Meals are prepared by the crew. If you only eat vegetarian food, they will prepare vegetarian dishes for breakfasts, lunches and dinners. The maximum group size on this trip is 20 people.

I suffer from sleep apnea and need to use an electrical device during the night. Is electricity available at the camp/ lodges etc during the trip?

With the camping I would have to check if an extension and plug could be provided for you but definitely with the accommodated lodge option there will be access to charging sockets.

We want a lodge or bungalow or tented camp with own bathroom, not camping. Is it possible to book only the first 6 nights? We don't want to go to Nata and would like to get off in Maun on the way back from Kwai and end the holiday in a high-quality lodge in Okavango before flying to Victoria Falls. What is the price?

It will include: 9 nights accommodation in hotels/lodges/guesthouses, all transport on a fully equipped 25-seat expedition vehicle, all included highlights as mentioned in the itinerary, 2 truck crew (driver/guide plus assistant/cook), local guides for sightseeing tours and activities as per the itinerary, meals: 9 breakfasts, 9 lunches, 7 dinners. Unfortunately we can't tailor a group tour to make it any shorter for you.

When will your dates for May 2027 be posted?

Unfortunately our Namibia team don't release next years pricing until August of the previous year so we will not know until August 2026 what our prices and dates will be for 2027.

What is the difference between camping double room (2450 euros) and accommodated double room (3000 euros)?

This trip is operated in one of our speciall designed expedition vehicles. Up to 24 travellers join these departures and some will choose the camping option, others the accommodated option. The difference then is that those choosing to camp will set up the tents where the truck parks for the night, and those in the accommodation will have an ensuite room at each location, whether a hotel room, bungalo or permanent tent. Your meals will still be prepared and served communal style together as a group.

Our trip started in Namibia, where the itinerary promised visits to the seals, sand dunes, Kamanjab, Windhoek, and four game drives in Etosha National Park. Unfortunately, the reality was quite different — we only had one game drive, and none of the other listed locations (seals, sand dunes, Kamanjab, or Windhoek) were visited. There was also an optional game drive offered for £80, but the timing (1:30–3:30 p.m.) was only disclosed after payment. This time of day is when wildlife tends to hide, so the experience was largely disappointing — had I known the schedule in advance, I wouldn’t have opted in. Overall, Namibia was a major disappointment compared to what was advertised. The tour improved dramatically once we crossed into Botswana. The experience in Chobe National Park was outstanding — one of the best safaris I’ve ever been on. Our guide, Rati, was excellent: knowledgeable, engaging, and clearly passionate about her work. The optional Delta flight was a highlight, offering incredible views. We chose the camping option, which turned out to be comfortable and well-organized. The tents were easy to set up and pack away, and the meals were tasty. I appreciated that vegetarian meals were provided for me throughout the trip. The tour concluded in Victoria Falls, where we arranged our own activities to finish off the journey. Overall, while the Namibia portion was disappointing, the Botswana section and our time at Victoria Falls more than made up for it. With a few itinerary adjustments and better communication, this could have been an excellent trip from start to finish.Show more

  June 19th is too early. Since the itinerary passes back through Maun on the way to Nata anyway, I don't see why you cannot offer the first part of the trip. You would simply need to drop us off in Maun. An alternative would be to end the trip at Khwai Tented Camp.

  You are using a 26-seater vehicle, so I cannot imagine that it will be fully occupied. If the three camps would be skipped, you would not have to pay for them; therefore, at the very least, a price reduction covering those three overnight stays should be possible. Are you suggesting a private tour using a smaller vehicle, but with a driver who also serves as the guide? That would be an option, provided the price is reasonable.

  The truck has 24 seats actually but 4 at the front are around a table for socialising so only 20 maximum in the group. The trip often runs full and sometimes we can still have seats but the hotels can be fully booked. We do still have 6 spaces on the truck left for this tour but I would need to check with each hotel before I can confirm space. The private price will be a lot more than for a group tour usually at least 3 x more as the costs of the driver/guide and vehicle are not being shared between a group.

  Would the missed lodge stay (3 nights) result in a price reduction? A private tour is of interest, but an extra of EUR 2,000 per person would be completely excessive. On a private tour, we would also want to drive at a slower pace and make better, longer stops. Could you please find out which vehicle would be used for this route and at what price? The original option—with a reduced price due to the omission of the 3 nights—remains our preferred choice.

You'd bring your own sleeping bag, pillow etc. The crew will help set up the tents daily, but would ask your help to break down camp while they prepare breakfasts.
