Unfortunately our Namibia team don't release next years pricing until August of the previous year so we will not know until August 2026 what our prices and dates will be for 2027.

What is the difference between camping double room (2450 euros) and accommodated double room (3000 euros)?

This trip is operated in one of our speciall designed expedition vehicles. Up to 24 travellers join these departures and some will choose the camping option, others the accommodated option. The difference then is that those choosing to camp will set up the tents where the truck parks for the night, and those in the accommodation will have an ensuite room at each location, whether a hotel room, bungalo or permanent tent. Your meals will still be prepared and served communal style together as a group.

Do you have this tour or similar with accomodation start around 15th march? We are 2 adults want to see okavango and vic falls.

We have a group departure on the 10th March and then another on the 24th March. The price displayed on Tour Radar is the camping price. If you are looking for the accommodated price, that will be US$3295 per person, 2 per room.

We can't guarantee specific amimal sighting, but there is a chance of seeing the big 5 in some of these national parks. You'd need to spend at least 1 night in Windhoek before the tour start date, so you'd fly into Windhoek, Namibia. Then, fly out of Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe.

Our trip started in Namibia, where the itinerary promised visits to the seals, sand dunes, Kamanjab, Windhoek, and four game drives in Etosha National Park. Unfortunately, the reality was quite different — we only had one game drive, and none of the other listed locations (seals, sand dunes, Kamanjab, or Windhoek) were visited. There was also an optional game drive offered for £80, but the timing (1:30–3:30 p.m.) was only disclosed after payment. This time of day is when wildlife tends to hide, so the experience was largely disappointing — had I known the schedule in advance, I wouldn’t have opted in. Overall, Namibia was a major disappointment compared to what was advertised. The tour improved dramatically once we crossed into Botswana. The experience in Chobe National Park was outstanding — one of the best safaris I’ve ever been on. Our guide, Rati, was excellent: knowledgeable, engaging, and clearly passionate about her work. The optional Delta flight was a highlight, offering incredible views. We chose the camping option, which turned out to be comfortable and well-organized. The tents were easy to set up and pack away, and the meals were tasty. I appreciated that vegetarian meals were provided for me throughout the trip. The tour concluded in Victoria Falls, where we arranged our own activities to finish off the journey. Overall, while the Namibia portion was disappointing, the Botswana section and our time at Victoria Falls more than made up for it. With a few itinerary adjustments and better communication, this could have been an excellent trip from start to finish.Show more

The 12 day tour was planned beautifully to include a combination of countryside, culture, history, sunrise/sunset, and of course, every kind of annimal imaginable. The tour guides and cook who assisted in every way were knowledgeable, charming, attentive, and thorough. The accommodations were clean, comfortable, and met all our needs. The tour provided a comprehensive and beautiful appreciation of these southern African countries and opportunities to meet and speak with local people about their lives.   When choosing the camping option, we provide a 2-person tent and a sleeping mat. You'd bring your own sleeping bag, pillow etc. The crew will help set up the tents daily, but would ask your help to break down camp while they prepare breakfasts. Shared bathroom facilities at campsites will include toilets and showers.

  Regarding 900+ that is a question for Tour Radar as you will have seen that on this website. Our other reviews don't always specify which trip they did but you can find them via Trip advisor. We do ask our customers to write reviews but we do struggle to get them to do so and the number of people taking the time to write them is only decreasing.

  The thirteen year old will likely be allowed. We provide two options for the accommodation on this Overland tour, both available on the trip. Camping uses easily erected tents and camping mattresses. Accommodated option uses good quality hotels, lodges and camps rated at the local 2 to 4-star level. The accommodated option is C$4890 per person for the July-Sep 2026 dates, and the camping option is C$3990 per person.

  Not sure if this will work for them - travelling from Canada to bring a sleeping bag and or pillow may be difficult. Also what is the washroom situation like for the camping portion.

  We stay at campsites that have shared bathroom and shower facilities, so they won't go a night without a shower. Having said that, July to September is winter season in the region and the campers will need to wrap up warm at night.

  Do you have a similar tour that perhaps is a couple days shorter that would drop the pricing so it is more within their budget. Also if we book 11 people any TC on it (discount etc).

Payment information
- For any tour departing before June 25th, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after June 25th, 2026, a minimum payment of $250 is required to confirm your booking with Encounters Travel. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 65 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
