There was no question she couldn't answer - whether it be trip details, onwards travels or even life advice. We had quite a range of ages, personalities and backgrounds within our group and I felt that Erin catered really well to these - and by the end of the tour, we had become one travel family - especially as all 16 of our group were solo travellers. A few trip highlights - the magical Whitsundays tour where we saw stingrays on Whitehaven Beach, a super fun night out at the Piano Bar in Byron Bay, skydiving in Mission Beach, meeting Robert Irwin at Australia Zoo, snorkelling in the Great Barrier Reef and a bougie night out in Sydney. We have a ton of optional activities you can book onto with your group leader when you arrive: Byron Bay: Kayaking with dolphins (from $89). Brisbane: Australia Zoo (from $71.95). Whitsundays: Scenic reef flight (from $319). Magnetic Island: Car hire (from $110 per day, 24 hours), Wildlife park tour (from $50). Mission Beach: Sky dive (from $369), White water rafting (from $239). Cairns: Sky dive (from $359), Scuba diving on Great Barrier Reef (from $90 - introductory, from $75 - certified), Cape Tribulation tour (from $199), Bungy jump (from $169), Giant swing (from $99), Bungy & giant swing combo (from $219). Unfortunately private rooms are not available on any of our Australia tours.

Unfortunately the hostels we stay at in Australia do not accept anyone over the age of 45, so we wouldn't be able to book your mother onto a tour there. We do have our premium tours in South East Asia such as our Experience tours where we would love to accept both of you!

Unfortunately, we don't offer the option to upgrade to a private room on this trip. Our accommodations typically consist of mixed-gender dorms with up to 8 travellers, but we would make sure to room you together in the same dorm throughout the trip. Would this be okay?

Logistically it would probably make more sense for you meet at the hostel rather than back to the airport and in to the city again. The hostel that you will be staying at is called Nomads and is located on 477 Kent Street.
