Is the tour particularly busy during June as this is the Australian Winter? Also what would be the average age around this time and are there many Solo travellers?

Our groups tend to be slightly less busy than during the summer, when our tours sell out months in advance. However, they are still super popular! Our June groups last year averaged 20 people on each start date, and I'd imagine we'll end up with somewhere between 10-20 people again this year. The great thing about travelling in Winter is that you get less crowds, and more reliable weather than peak summer where we get more rainfall as well. Plus, the tour is designed to follow the sun up the coast, so while it will be cooler in Sydney and New South Wales, Queensland will still be balmy and gorgeous! Our tours are designed for 18 to 45 year olds, but the majority of travellers in Australia tend to be 18-30, and mainly solo travellers.

Can i ask as I am travelling alone, do I get my own private room. Also what is the recommended amount of luggage to take and is there opportunity to wash clothing etc. Thanks

We don't offer a private room on this tour you will be in multi share rooms. We strongly recommend that you bring less than 20 kgs of stuff with you. There will be plenty of opportunity to do a clothes wash along the way

I was wondering if there is a breakdown of add-on costs for any optional additions to the tour and if it is possible to book private accommodation.

Whitsundays: Scenic reef flight (from $319). Magnetic Island: Car hire (from $110 per day, 24 hours), Wildlife park tour (from $50). Mission Beach: Sky dive (from $369), White water rafting (from $239). Cairns: Sky dive (from $359), Scuba diving on Great Barrier Reef (from $90 - introductory, from $75 - certified), Cape Tribulation tour (from $199), Bungy jump (from $169), Giant swing (from $99), Bungy & giant swing combo (from $219). Unfortunately private rooms are not available on any of our Australia tours.

Is it possible to join the tour if my mother is outside of the given age range (18-35)? She is 56 but very fit and willing to do lots of activities.

Unfortunately the hostels we stay at in Australia do not accept anyone over the age of 45, so we wouldn't be able to book your mother onto a tour there. We do have our premium tours in South East Asia such as our Experience tours where we would love to accept both of you!

wondering if it was possible to know what availability for the 28 day tour commencing was like

We have 11 bookings for this date so far, but we still have plenty of space for you to join us - room for 10 more! Unfortunately, we can't hold a spot for you without payment but fingers crossed they'll still be a spot going when you're ready to book.

Would it be possible to have our own dorm rooms as part of the accommodation or is that not something you can facilitate.

Unfortunately, we don't offer the option to upgrade to a private room on this trip. Our accommodations typically consist of mixed-gender dorms with up to 8 travellers, but we would make sure to room you together in the same dorm throughout the trip. Would this be okay?

Will be landing in Sydney on March 26th, but the tour I want to do is April 2nd, a week later, would it be ok to make my way to the airport and meet up with the tour even though I won't be landing that day?

Logistically it would probably make more sense for you meet at the hostel rather than back to the airport and in to the city again. The hostel that you will be staying at is called Nomads and is located on 477 Kent Street.

My Oz East Coast trip was the most incredible experience. All of the activities were so fun and I ticked off so much of my bucket list. Honourable mentions include: the Whitsundays trip and the Cairns waterfall tour. Our lovely tour guide Mia was amazing and made the tour run smoothly. Her knowledge of each area made each activity more interesting and she did such a good job in making sure we all felt included in all activities. She also helped us book all additional activities we wanted to do, including a skydive and Fitzroy island, both of which I loved. All of the accommodations were great and i loved not having to stress about transport or booking things independently. It allows you to really enjoy the places you’re visiting without any worries. ✨ Review of Oz East Coast 28-Day Tour (30th July, with Katie as Tour Leader) ✨ I did the Oz East Coast 28-Day Tour starting on the 30th of July, and it was absolutely incredible! From start to finish, our tour leader Katie was professional, knowledgeable, and made the whole experience so enjoyable. Any questions we had were answered straight away, and she always shared little bursts of information that made the journey even more interesting. Katie was fun, kind, and always made sure we were having the best trip possible. She was amazing at bringing the group together and making sure everyone felt included. Every evening, she gave us a clear breakdown of what the next day would look like, including itineraries and what we needed to pack. On free days, she even popped recommendations into the chat so we always had great options to choose from. I’d do another tour with Katie again in a heartbeat! The tour itself was packed with unforgettable activities. A personal highlight for me was the skydive over Mission Beach – a surreal, once-in-a-lifetime experience that I’d recommend to anyone. I didn’t do the Whitsundays flight this time, but I’ll definitely book it next time as it came highly recommended. What I loved most is how well the tour is thought out. It really caters for all personalities – from optional nights out and group dinners, to games nights and chilled evenings. It’s perfect if, like me and my friend, you feel overwhelmed by the idea of planning the East Coast yourself. Everything is organised for you: accommodation, activities, and travel are all taken care of. All you need to sort are your flights and insurance, and you’re good to go. Meals were also well balanced. Some were included, and for others, Katie made sure to let us know when we’d need to sort our own food. Hostels all had kitchens to cook in, plus plenty of nearby restaurants and cafés, so it was easy to find something that worked for everyone. Overall, I can’t recommend this tour enough. It takes the stress out of planning and gives you the freedom to just enjoy the experience. And a huge thank you to Katie – she truly made this trip unforgettable! There was no question she couldn't answer - whether it be trip details, onwards travels or even life advice. We had quite a range of ages, personalities and backgrounds within our group and I felt that Erin catered really well to these - and by the end of the tour, we had become one travel family - especially as all 16 of our group were solo travellers. A few trip highlights - the magical Whitsundays tour where we saw stingrays on Whitehaven Beach, a super fun night out at the Piano Bar in Byron Bay, skydiving in Mission Beach, meeting Robert Irwin at Australia Zoo, snorkelling in the Great Barrier Reef and a bougie night out in Sydney. The tour is very full on, but there's also plenty of free time which you can use to relax or explore. There's so many cool activities included such as surfing in Byron Bay, 3 days exploring K'Gari and a sailing tour of the Whitsundays. There's also a bunch of amazing optional activities to book, such as skydiving, scenic flights and scuba diving in the Great Barrier Reef, these activities are very easy to book through your group leader. Speaking of group leaders, I would like to give a huge shout-out to our group leader Craig, who really looked after us and took care of all the stress of transport/booking activities/dinner/onward travel plans etc, allowing us all to just fully enjoy Australia without any worries at all! Even though I've done group tours before, it is still daunting going solo. However, over the 28 days, you make such amazing friendships and it feels like you've known your group all your life!   During such an epic 28-day long tour we recognise you'll need a little down-time too!! For this reason we include some free-time in this itinerary, and you're welcome to book some extra adventures through your Group Leader while you're away. Some of the highlights along the East Coast are kayaking with dolphins, sky-diving, white-water rafting and adventuring up to Cape Tribulation. If you anticipate you'll want to do any extra activities, just be sure to budget a little more spending money! We include a bunch of meals during the tour - 8 breakfasts, 8 lunches, and 8 dinners. The rest of the time it's up to you whether you'd like to head out for food, or pick up supplies from the supermarket and cook at your hostel.

  Unfortunately the hostels we stay at in Australia do not accept anyone over the age of 45, so we wouldn't be able to book your mother onto a tour there. We do have our premium tours in South East Asia such as our Experience tours where we would love to accept both of you!

Payment information
- For any tour departing before September 7th, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after September 7th, 2026, a minimum payment of 25% is required to confirm your booking with INTRO Travel. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 35 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
- Some departure dates and prices may vary and INTRO Travel will contact you with any discrepancies before your booking is confirmed.
