- Brisbane to Cairns - 7 Day Boutique Tour
An unforgettable and memorable experience exploring the east coast of Australia from Brisbane to Port Douglas! It is a stunning part of the world and I so am glad that I went on this tour which enabled me to experience it! I wasn’t really sure what to expect as I’ve never been on a tour of this kind before however I enjoyed every second of it and was sad to see it come to an end. Some of my highlights were exploring and snorkelling around the Whitsunday Islands and also scuba diving at the Great Barrier Reef which was spectacular, along with the incredible scenery throughout the tour! The entire tour was very well organised to a high standard, was well paced and transportation was also comfortable, I also found the tour very interesting, educational and thought provoking. I learned things that I never would have known had I not gone on this tour. I must also give a huge shout out to Jason who was a tour leader and he was simply incredible and made the tour so special. His knowledge of the various locations and wildlife was second to none and there were not many questions in which he did not know the answer! He was also extremely friendly and caring and did everything that he could to make sure that the whole group had the best time possible. He was always on hand to help anyone with any problem, no matter how big or small, and he bonded with us and felt like a friend throughout the entire tour. I could not have asked for a better tour leader. This tour was an amazing experience that I will never forget, I would do it all over again in a heartbeat!

Guide: Jason Wass Jason is a great guide. He is a natural group leader and his love for travelling and nature shines through in everything he does. There were no problems what so ever. We've been able to experience Australia in the best way possible, thanks to good accommodation along the east coast, as well as cool experiences to go with it. Gadventures made all of this easy for stupid Europeans like us who didn't know what a wallaby was before.

Our 3-day tours get you straight into the action at the Great Barrier Reef. You'll dive and snorkel multiple carefully chosen sites where 1,500 fish species and 411 types of hard coral create an underwater paradise. Divers go deep to see sharks, rays and giant clams while snorkelers float above vibrant coral gardens. If cycling's more your style, the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail offers a different 3-day experience - it's all downhill past old railway stations where our riders often spot koalas and echidnas. Most of our guests prefer starting in Sydney or Brisbane then heading north, joining a ready-made group of fellow solo adventurers. The setup includes social hostel stays, group dinners and shared activities like surfing in Byron Bay. What solo travelers really value is having guides sort out all the transport and accommodation details while keeping things flexible for personal time. Our customers often tell us how their travel groups become like family, especially during multi-day experiences like sailing through the Whitsundays and exploring K'gari's sand tracks by 4x4.
Our younger travelers naturally gravitate to the longer east coast journeys that run 20-35 days. These tours mix organized fun with personal freedom - you'll take professional surf lessons in Byron Bay, drive across K'gari's sand highways and sail the Whitsundays, plus have free evenings to check out the nightlife in Surfers Paradise and also Cairns. The activities range from adrenaline rushes like skydiving over Mission Beach and white water rafting to cultural experiences and close wildlife encounters. You'll stay in beachfront hostels and unique spots like camping under the stars on K'gari. Our young adult travelers often mention the social vibe, with many making solid friendships while snorkeling the Great Barrier Reef and exploring the Atherton Tablelands together.
Queensland's east coast tours blend comfort and meaning across 17 days, making them ideal for active seniors who want more than just sightseeing. Our travelers connect with the land through guided Daintree Rainforest walks, intimate wildlife sanctuary visits, and also thoughtfully planned Great Barrier Reef excursions. The small group format works especially well for guests in their 60s, with boutique lodging in Port Douglas, Cairns and other coastal towns providing a perfect base. Expert naturalist guides set a comfortable pace through Aboriginal-led experiences at Mossman Gorge, gentle snorkeling sessions over coral gardens, Whitsunday sailing trips, and also guided nature walks. The tours give you space to discover places like Noosa and Mission Beach independently, while our team manages transport and logistics behind the scenes. What makes these journeys special is how they weave Queensland's natural wonders with cultural heritage, creating an experience that's both enriching and relaxing.

People who travel with us really value the extended time at Fraser Island and the Whitsundays during autumn - the weather's perfect for 4x4 driving, camping and also sailing. - Winter 2025 / 2026
Winter tours between Brisbane and Cairns really shine during the dry season from June through August. Most people choose the longer 5-6 week packages since they give you proper time at each stop. You'll kick off with surf lessons at Byron Bay before heading up to K'gari (Fraser Island) where our travelers love taking the 4x4s out on those long beaches and cooling off in the crystal-clear freshwater lakes. The Whitsundays portion works perfectly in winter - the seas are calmer and the water visibility is great for snorkeling. What's the Best Way to Experience the Great Barrier Reef?
Cairns is really your main jumping-off point for the reef and there's quite a few ways to explore it. You can do day cruises where you'll get to snorkel dive or see everything from a glass-bottom boat which is pretty cool. The Pro Sail trips are amazing especially their 3-day Whitsunday Islands adventure where you'll hit up to 4 different snorkel spots and get to check out the stunning Whitehaven Beach. If you want something really special try an intro or certified dive on the Oz East Coast Adventure 28 Days tour it includes a full day out on the water with some unique outer reef spots you won't find anywhere else.
What Cultural Experiences Can You Join in Queensland?
There's some really authentic Aboriginal experiences you can get involved with all over Queensland. In the Daintree you can join these fantastic walks with Kuku Yalanji guides who'll show you all about bush tucker and traditional medicine. Over on K'gari which most people know as Fraser Island you can be part of Welcome to Country ceremonies with the Butchulla people it's actually included in the Brisbane to Cairns Experience tour. Mungalla Station's another great spot where you'll learn about Nywaigi history and culture through their tours and exhibitions you'll find this on the Brisbane to Cairns Adventure that covers 13 different spots.
What Natural Areas Can You Visit Outside the Cities?
Queensland's packed with natural wonders and there's loads of ways to see them. You can cruise down K'gari's 75 Mile Beach Road in a 4x4 on the Oz East Coast Adventure or hike through these amazing ancient rainforests in Lamington National Park which is part of the Walk Queensland's Scenic Rim tour. The Daintree's pretty special too you can drive through it take guided walks at Mossman Gorge or hop on a scenic cruise down the Daintree River.
Which Less-Visited Places Should You Know About?
Carnarvon National Park's a bit of a hidden gem with amazing Aboriginal rock art and wildlife you won't find many crowds here like you do on the coast. The Gulflander Train journey's pretty special too it shows you parts of Queensland's pioneer history that most people never see. Both these experiences are part of the Essence of the Outback Cairns Return tour for 2024. And don't miss Undara Volcanic National Park the lava tubes there are incredible and you can explore them on the same outback tour.
