Asked on December 18th, 2025I want to book a trip but its my first real time doing something like this. Just wondering if you give me a brief run down on how it works and what to expect.
Via Travel AustraliaOperator•Written December 2025This is a comfort level tour, accommodation is 3.5 to 4.5 star, where possible we try to use family run hotels/accommodation. We stay in mix of hotel and apartment style accommodation. We travel in a small coach or minibus depending on the group size. Maximum group size is 16. The tour guide will also be your driver. There is no toilet onboard but we make frequent stops along way for meals, sightseeing or bio breaks, so this is generally not an issue. Include meals and sightseeing is specified in the itinerary. There are some group meals included but if there isn't a group meal the guide will give you a load of suggestions for cafes or restaurants and we often find that people go out together for a meal. This tour starts in Sydney, we meet up on the first night of the tour and head out for a welcome dinner, it's a great opportunity to get know your fellow passengers. Our typical age range is about 55-75 but we often get passengers either side of this. On the east coast we tend to attract a lot of international travellers, generally from UK, Canada, USA, Germany, Switzerland etc.

Traveler•Written December 2025I'm 28 years old is there any tours more for younger people? For about 20 days or so?
Via Travel AustraliaOperator•Written December 2025Unfortunately Via Travel doesn't have another tour on the east coast. Although we are more than happy to have younger people on the tour, I will message TourRadar to see if they can reach out to you with some other choices specifically aimed at a younger demographic.

Via Travel AustraliaOperator•Written April 2025We can do pre and post accommodation. The night immediately before and just after the tour we hold rooms and any additional days we request with the hotel. We don't do airport transfers or flight.

Asked on August 8th, 2024I am a 42 yr old solo female traveller from Ireland. I want to check the age range of the people going on this trip? If it is my 30s-40s I am happy to book it, I would rather closer to my own age if possible. If it is older, then I am not interested. Could you let me know please?
Via Travel AustraliaOperator•Written August 2024Currently the age range on this trip is 30-55, however this can change as we don't have an age restriction. In general our trips tend to attract those from 35-75 years.

Asked on July 2nd, 2024Will it be possible to visit the Australia Zoo while in Brisbane?
Via Travel AustraliaOperator•Written July 2024Australia Zoo is just over an hours drive from Brisbane and we don't make a stop there. There is a little free time in Brisbane so you could possibly make it there. The easiest way probably would be to rent a car but there is a train service that goes nearby the zoo and they operate a courtesy bus from the train station.

Asked on June 1st, 2024Are there alternate dates for tours? I am looking for a tour beginning March 25, 2025.
Via Travel AustraliaOperator•Written June 2024For this 17 day Boutique tour the March 2025 departures are the 2nd, 16th and 30th of March. We do have a 16 day Flashpacker Adventure Tour (up to 49 years of age) departing 20 March but nothing on 25 March. Let me know if the flashpacker trip may be something that could work for you and I can send you some further innformation.

Asked on April 19th, 2024Is there a single supplement penalty for traveling alone. (I don't mind having a roommate if one is available). Would there be a place available in the ternary to wash clothes if needed?
Via Travel AustraliaOperator•Written April 2024There is a single supplement if you to have your own room, however if you are happy with twin-share we will match you with a roommate if available. Several of our accommodations have laundry facilites, some are free, some are paid and some are even right in your room. We have a number of two night stays which makes it the prefect time to get some washing done.

Traveler•Written April 2024Is there a required minimum number of people going on this trip in order to go? Once I book on line, does that mean that the trip is happening and I can book flights? If there is another solo female traveler that would not mind a roommate during the trip sign me up!

Asked on October 22nd, 2023Hi there, I'm looking for a bit more information on the Sydney to carnes tour. Please could you give an example of the accommodation and confirm that it is double rooms? Also, are meals included ?
Via Travel AustraliaOperator•Written October 2023We can definitely confirm double rooms throughout the trip - just be sure to mention it when booking. Our hotels on this trip are usually small locally owned boutique hotels or apartment style, although we do use some larger hotels in some cities, they range from 3.5* to 4.5* stars and all have private facilities. The apartment style often have washing machines in the room and some of hotels have washing facilities available on site (may be a charge), which is super handy when you are on the road! Hotels can vary from trip to trip but still remain the same standard. Some examples are Sydney - Holiday Inn Potts Point, Byron - Beachcomber, Cairns - Flynn Hotel. Breakfast is included on most days - except arrival day and free day in Byron. 3 lunches and 2 dinners.
