  Sydney & Byron Bay
  Get to the Opera House by 8 AM to beat the crowds. After taking in the Sydney Harbour Bridge, make your way north to Byron Bay. A recent visitor shared: "The coastal walking track to Cape Byron Lighthouse offered incredible whale watching spots - bring binoculars if visiting May-November."

  Surfers Paradise
  Take surf lessons at The Spit where the morning waves are perfect for beginners. The nightlife centers around Cavill Avenue where most hostels are located. Remember to pack reef-safe sunscreen since you'll be in the water frequently.

  Brisbane & Australia Zoo
  Check out South Bank's artificial beach and cultural spots. Get to Australia Zoo by 9 AM for the first shows. A visitor tip: "The Irwin Animal Hospital's live surgeries were fascinating - try to time your visit between 11 AM-2 PM when most procedures happen."

  Rainbow Beach & Fraser Island
  Start at Rainbow Beach before your Fraser Island 4WD adventure. Bring waterproof bags for your electronics since rain can come quickly. Drive the famous 75 Mile Beach at low tide and head to Indian Head lookout early for the best views.

  Airlie Beach & Whitsundays
  Take the overnight bus to Airlie Beach. Spend time at the lagoon before a 2-night Whitsundays sailing trip. A traveler tip: "Book a front cabin if prone to seasickness - they're more stable. And bring a waterproof camera for Whitehaven Beach."

  Cairns & Great Barrier Reef
  Your week in Cairns is full of options. Book early morning reef trips for calmer waters. You can also try white water rafting on the Tully River or go skydiving but book these early during peak season (June-August). The Cairns Lagoon is perfect between activities.

I had Sam P as my tour leader, he made the whole experience so easy and I felt relaxed the whole time. Not only did he excel at the expectations of his job but he also became a friend during this time. He looked after all of us from the moment we met until when we said our goodbyes. He made this tour group into a family and created memories for all of us that I’m sure we will carry with us forever. Of course there were some incidents, that were no fault of Sam’s including delayed grey hounds. One in particular causing people who were participating in the scenic flight, to run straight to the transfer to the flight as the coach arrived the same time their transfer was meant to be leaving. Sam organised all of us and made sure all those people became priority in getting off the bus, while the rest of us concentrated on getting their bags and bringing them with us to the hostel. He remained collected and had control of the situation allowing us to trust him and that stated consistent through out the tour. Considering, this was sam’s first ever tour I believe he went above and beyond to make this experience for us the best he could. And he really allowed us to see the beauty of Australia.
