Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Las Vegas to Death Valley

A hotel pickup from Las Vegas gets you rolling across the Mojave Desert and into Death Valley National Park. You'll start at Zabriskie Point to take in your first views of the valley, and then move into the Golden Canyon and Gower Gulch loop where the colorful Badlands terrain takes over. After lunch on a hilltop with views stretching out in all directions, the day wraps up with a sunset walk into Badwater Basin, which sits at the lowest elevation in North America.

  2. Day 2

    Death Valley

After an early breakfast, you're heading into the Panamint Mountains to take on the challenging Wildrose Peak hike. Starting at the historic Charcoal Kilns, the trail climbs through juniper and pinon forest on the east slopes. By the time you reach the 9,000-foot summit, you'll have views of Death Valley spreading below, Panamint Valley to the west, and the snow-streaked Sierra Nevada off in the distance.

  3. Day 3

    Death Valley to 29 Palms

This day offers easier terrain after yesterday's climb. You'll start with a quieter hike through the Mesquite Sand Dunes while mountain views frame the landscape around you. From there, you drive to Darwin Falls, a spring-fed waterfall that somehow exists in one of the driest spots on earth, and take a two-mile hike to reach it. Before heading out, you'll check out from Furnace Creek, cross back through the Mojave, and settle into your hotel in 29 Palms near Joshua Tree.

  4. Day 4

    Joshua Tree National Park

An early breakfast gets things started, then you explore Joshua Tree's unique desert ecology. The Teddy Bear Cholla Garden is first, where cacti look inviting until you get close. Next comes the Lost Palms Oasis trail at Cottonwood Spring, and you'll hike through arroyos and sandy washes to find the largest stand of California Fan Palms in the park. Lunch happens in this remote oasis with the Salton Sea visible to the south, and after eating, you'll finish with a hike up to Arch Rock.

Breakfast first, then you're walking into Barker Dam, a valley filled with petroglyphs and historical stories about gold mining and ranching. The Maze section of Joshua Tree's Wonderland of Rocks comes next, and you'll weave through granite spires, monoliths, and rock formations with park views surrounding you. By evening, you're back in town for fine dining to wrap up the hiking portion of your trip.

    Alan

    Asked on November 2nd, 2022

Is there a possibility for room share? and if so, what would the rate be?

    Accommodation
    Single supplement
    • Wildland TrekkingOperatorWritten November 2022

There is a single supplement fee of $600.00 for casual lodging and $800.00 for premier lodging. We can always notate on your clients account that they would be open to sharing a room if someone else is interested but we cannot guarantee it and we would need to apply the single supplement fee unless we find someone for them to share a room with.
