    Asked on May 30th, 2024

Can you provide additional information regarding the accommodations on this tour?

    Accommodation
    • G AdventuresOperatorWritten May 2024

Accommodation will be varied throughout your adventure. We use a hotel for the start night, but most of the nights on tour are spent camping in tents in public and private campgrounds. All camping equipment (with the exception of your sleeping bag and pillow) is supplied, including comfortable camp mattresses. We supply dome tents that take only 5 minutes to assemble/disassemble. They are good quality, durable, industry-standard, oversized 2-person tents, each with 2 separate and convenient zip-up doors, so that each person has his/her own entrance. It will be the travellers responsibility to set up/take down the tents, and the tour leader will give a demonstration on the first day on how to do so. We use 2 types of campgrounds in North America: 1. Private campgrounds: These are privately run sites, usually with all services such as fire pits, picnic tables, drinking water, toilets & shower buildings. Some have small outdoor swimming pools and laundry facilities. These campgrounds are typically located near national park entrances or towns. 2. Public campgrounds: These are park-run sites, usually with basic facilities such as fire pits, picnic tables, and drinking water. In some cases, this type of campground doesn't have showers, only pit toilets and a lake! In other locations, toilet and shower facilities may be located outside the campground, or at times in another location a drive away. Some may have shower fees for onsite facilities ($2-6/shower). Another note about this tour: We give all our trips a physical rating on a scale of 1-5. 1 being the easiest and 5 being the most difficult. This particular tour is rated as a 4/5 which we say is "Demanding - Some high-altitude hikes or more strenuous activities, but accessible to most healthy travellers." Due to the amount of hiking featured on this tour it's important to note prior to booking to ensure this is the right trip for you.

    Asked on May 18th, 2024

I want to book this plan but I have one question before I do so. I will be bringing my saxophone with me. I read the details and know that only one bag is allowed per person. I am asking you to please make an exception and let me take it with me, It is under an insurance policy so there is nothing for you to worry about, all I need is to bring it with me and leave it somewhere for the duration of the trip, maybe on the bus.

    Tour Details
    Transport
    • G AdventuresOperatorWritten May 2024

It will be possible for you to bring your instrument along, but you would be responsible for carrying it between the buses and the accommodation and storing it safely.

    • A

      Amelia

      TravelerWritten May 2024

I need an extra clarification. I completely understand the fact that I'll be responsible for my instrument. But I want you to clarify what "between the buses" means. The trip has many hikes in it, does that mean that I'm supposed to hike with both my backpack and saxophone on me?

    • G AdventuresOperatorWritten May 2024

"Between the buses and the accommodation" just refers to you carrying your own instrument to and from the accommodation and transport during your trip. When you are on hikes, you are welcome to leave it in the vehicle where possible, but keep in mind you will be responsible to ensure it is safely stored prior to hiking. You can also chat with your Tour Leader when on tour to check where its possible to leave it at accommodation when going on hikes.

    Asked on May 2nd, 2024

What accommodation types will be provided during the tour?

    Accommodation
    • G AdventuresOperatorWritten May 2024

Accommodation will vary; the first night is in a hotel, and subsequent nights will be in tents at campgrounds.

  • R

    Robert

    Asked on April 21st, 2024

I am in my 50s and traveling solo. How great are the chances of there being people my age in the group?

    Age Range
    • G AdventuresOperatorWritten April 2024

We do have a variety of ages who sign up for this tour! However, I would say the age range is mostly 40-late 60's so I think there is a good chance of people being around your age on the trip.
