I have just come back from a very interestion 15 day tour of Sri Lanka called Discover Sri Lanka. I tagged the tour onto a month in Southern India. I wanted to be part of a group tour, unfortunatley no one else chose the same dates so the company let me know and ran it as a private tour. This enabled me to be a bit more flexible. My guide and driver Charles was brilliant, he was an excellent driver and very knowledgable answering the vast majority of my questions. I felt I was in a very safe pair of hands. The company should be proud of him as he is a credit to their organisation. The hotels are 3 and 4 Star, they were all clean and had nice bathrooms. Quite a few had pools which is nice, the ones in the hills did not due to the drop in tempreture. One hotel was closed when we arrived but we were resheduled to one we were due to stay at the following night, a quick resolution.Well done Christopher. The issues I had were some of the hotels are out of town, this means you cannot walk into town to resturants and shops you have to drive, a bit of a nusience but not insomountable. Charles was great and we found some nice local places to eat. Lots of local people eating there, allways a good sign. The other is the train journey from Nanuoya to Ella. I was surprised to find out I was in 3rd class, interesting as I had never travelled 3rd class before, a bit grim. Even though two seats were booked for me they were not together, and both were occupied when I got on the train. There was no one to compain to so it was a question of hunt for a seat, I did find one, fun time. The Jeep Safari in a National Park near Tissamaharama. This is like no safari I have been on. It is more like a government money making exercise. First of all tourist pay 12000 rupees. Secondly they let in vast numbers of vehicles to generate huge sums. In four mind numing hours I saw lots of Deer, quite a few Peacocks, two lizards, the occasional Bufalow and about 50 vehicles of various sizes in some cases travelling in a convoy. At one point we had 17 going in both directions. If you are interested in Deer, Peacocks and many many tourists in Toyotas etc then sign up, otherwise spend the time doing something you realy like. Over all I enjoyed the trip very much. There are lots of interesting things to see, great scenary etc, a few to many temples for me but I changed the itinary to suit me. In retrospect it would be better to upgrade, this may ensure hotels are within walking distance of town. I have no hesitation in recomending this company just read the itinary carefully to ensure it is for you.Show more

We have just completed a 17 day tour of Sri Lanka with Sunrise Sri Lanka Tours and it was excellent. We had planned to do the discover SL tour but on the suggestion of Christopher from Sunrise we were able to add Trincomlee and change the direction of the tour so we started in Colombo and finished in Negombo. Our driver/guide Ruwan was a very careful driver and spoke good english and was very flexible on the starting times for each day and changing the daily itinerary to meet our needs. We had a comfortable 7 seater van so plenty of room for luggage and to stretch out. Sri Lanka is an amazing country and the tour was varied with lovely beaches, jungle safaris, mountain walks with unbelievable views and traditional Buddha temples. The accomodation was varied but most were of a high standard although some did have limited wifi access but that didn't cause us any issues. The tour was evenly paced, with free afternoons to enjoy hotel pools or a walk along the beach. There is no way we could have done this trip on our own and seen as much as we did. Everything worked like clockwork so I would suggest contacting Sunrise Sri Lanka direct and letting Cristopher and his team organise an unforgettable trip of Sri Lanka. 5 stars!Show more

Visa
- Unfortunately we cannot offer you a visa application service. Whether you need a visa or not depends on your nationality and where you wish to travel. Assuming your home country does not have a visa agreement with the country you're planning to visit, you will need to apply for a visa in advance of your scheduled departure.
- Here is an indication for which countries you might need a visa. Please contact the local embassy for help applying for visas to these places.
Payment information
- For any tour departing before July 5th, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after July 5th, 2026, a minimum payment of 5% is required to confirm your booking with Sunrise Sri Lanka Travels and Tours. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 60 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
- Some departure dates and prices may vary and Sunrise Sri Lanka Travels and Tours will contact you with any discrepancies before your booking is confirmed.
- The following cards are accepted for "Sunrise Sri Lanka Travels and Tours" tours: Visa, Maestro, Mastercard, American Express or PayPal. TourRadar does NOT charge you an extra fee for using any of these payment methods.
