I booked a 15-day group tour of Sri Lanka. 3 days before departure I received the message that I was the only one on this tour. At first I was a little skeptical, but after a warm welcome from the local tour guide, who explained the upcoming tour to me in detail, all doubts were forgotten. I was accompanied by the tour guide Anura for 6 days and the chauffeur Udaya for the rest of the trip. Nothing was left out on this trip. I saw and experienced so much. Sri Lanka offers wonderful nature and so many different facets and sights. All my wishes were fulfilled and I really had an all-round carefree package. I also went to Adams Peak at 2am with over 5300 steps. It was a great experience. The driver drove me into town and picked me up again, even though he had to wait 1 1/2 hours for me.
The people are all very warm and relaxed and the food is delicious.
I can recommend this trip to anyone

FANTASTIC. Sri Lanka has a huge variety of activite from Beaches and Culture through to Wildlife and Hiking that my tour focussed on. The Sunrise Company had great experienced guide and a really efficient tour path cutting a circle route thru the best National Parks, abandoned Temple Towns (also with lots wildlife) plus great moutain views on the Hill Country hikes.
Accommodation way better than anticipating, with selection of nice 3-4 star hotels in quiet spots just away from (rather than in middle of) the noisy tourist town centres. In terms of time and money is hard to beat this tpur = even if went to all the hassle of trying to organise it yourself! Well down Sunrise (and guide Tyrone). A fantastic job that does credit to your beautiful country.

Our tour operator and most excellent guide was Priyantha C Balakrishnan, (Priya) who from the planning stage right through to the finish of the tour, provided a level of service that was outstanding. Our drivers (notably Lal) were careful, attentive to road conditions and very competent.
The DISCOVER SRI LANKA tour was selected from among many other options and tour companies that we reviewed, as in our opinion it provided the BEST OVERALL VIEW of what Sri Lanka had to offer. From historical to cultural, from natural wonders to wildlife game parks, THIS TOUR HAD IT ALL. We did some hiking and also opted to add a few extra days of beach time, which was all arranged for us. We also requested a private tour for just the three of us and that was provided at NO extra cost.
A most remarkable aspect of this tour was the degree to which Priya rearranged the tour and hotels to accommodate the weather. We really appreciated that when the weather was not cooperative with the day's tour plan, Priya was able to move events around, change hotel stays as needed, etc., so that all the planned tour events were still accomplished but ordered and modified to suit our needs and the weather. That level of service has never happened to us before in our travels.
Throughout the tour, prior to and during visits to historical, cultural or natural sites, Priya provided extensive background information that provided both the context and notable features that enhanced our appreciation of what we were seeing and experiencing. His command of English, both written and oral, was excellent.
On a day to day basis, I noted that his interactions with locals as well as staff persons in hotels and restaurants were always friendly and polite. He was certainly most attentive to our needs: personal, physical comfort, environmental, banking, stops as required, etc. Throughout the tour he provided restaurant suggestions, shopping guidelines, answered my questions on tipping, etc. At the finish of the tour and based on our many questions about Sri Lanka and what we had seen, he provided a list of books (including cook books), YouTube videos, movies and music, all featuring Sri Lanka.
Sri Lankans in general smile more than people in most countries we have ever travelled. We loved the food. Sri Lanka deserves recognition for its efforts in Tourism. It has much to offer.
And as to our tour company, the level of service and hospitality provided was exemplary. We recommend SUNRISE SRI LANKA TRAVELS & TOURS without reservation. Enjoy Sri Lanka!
