    Since your itinerary begins in Kenya, continues to Tanzania, and then proceeds to Rwanda and Uganda, we recommend the following:
    
    Kenya: U.S. citizens should obtain the Kenya Electronic Travel Authorisation (eTA) before travelling to Kenya. This is completed online through the official Kenya immigration platform.
    Tanzania: U.S. citizens are required to obtain a Multiple-Entry Tanzania Tourist Visa, even when the itinerary involves only one planned visit to Tanzania. This can be applied for online through the official Tanzania Immigration e-Visa system.
    Rwanda & Uganda: For the Rwanda and Uganda portion of your trip, we recommend the East Africa Tourist Visa, which allows travel between Rwanda, Uganda and Kenya. Since you will already have completed your Kenya portion before travelling to Tanzania, we can arrange the EATV specifically for the Rwanda/Uganda section of your itinerary.
    
    We will be happy to guide you through the visa application process and provide any supporting itinerary information required.

    Your Turkish Airlines flight arriving at 01:25 is not a problem. After you complete immigration and customs formalities at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, our representative will be waiting for you at the airport for your transfer.
    We will monitor the flight schedule and coordinate the airport pickup according to your actual arrival time, so you will have assistance even though the flight arrives during the early morning hours.

    The 16:05 Ethiopian Airlines departure from Entebbe on Friday, 30 July is also workable.
    We will arrange your transfer to Entebbe International Airport with sufficient time for check-in, security and immigration procedures. We will take your flight departure time into consideration when scheduling the transfer, so you should have a comfortable margin before the flight.

    Yes. U.S. Dollars are widely accepted throughout the safari destinations, particularly at safari lodges, hotels, tourist establishments and for many tourism-related services.
    We recommend carrying some smaller U.S. Dollar notes for personal expenses, tips and small purchases. Credit and debit cards are also accepted at most established hotels and lodges, although it is always useful to have some local currency available for smaller purchases.
    You therefore do not need to exchange large amounts of money into Kenyan Shillings, Tanzanian Shillings, Rwandan Francs or Ugandan Shillings. We can also advise you where exchanging money may be useful during the trip.

    Because your itinerary includes several safari areas in East Africa, malaria prevention is something we recommend taking seriously. Malaria occurs in parts of Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda and Uganda, and preventive medication is generally recommended for travellers visiting malaria-risk areas. The best medication for you should be discussed with your personal physician or a travel-medicine specialist before your trip, particularly because medications can vary depending on an individual's medical history and other medicines they may be taking.
    In addition to medication, we recommend the usual precautions against mosquito bites, including insect repellent, long sleeves/trousers in the evenings and using accommodation with mosquito nets or screened rooms where available.
    We also recommend visiting your doctor or a travel-health clinic approximately 4–8 weeks before the trip to review routine vaccinations and any travel-specific vaccinations or medications. Your doctor can also review your individual medical history and advise what is appropriate for you.
    Please also carry any regular prescription medicines you use in their original packaging, together with an adequate supply for the entire journey.
    
    Regarding Ebola: I completely understand why you are asking about this, especially given the recent situation in Uganda. The good news is that the 2026 Bundibugyo Ebola outbreak in Uganda was officially declared over on August 27, 2026, after the required 42-day period without a new confirmed case.

    There is no age restriction for our safari. Being 80 and 76 years old does not, by itself, prevent you from enjoying this trip.
    In fact, the fact that you have successfully completed 26 days of national-park travel in India in 2024 and another 19 days in 2026 without physical or health difficulties is very encouraging and gives us a good indication that you are experienced travellers.
    That said, an East African safari can involve some long driving days, uneven terrain, early-morning starts and getting in and out of safari vehicles. Gorilla trekking, in particular, can be physically demanding depending on the location and conditions on the day.
    
    For the gorilla experience, we will also discuss the easiest and most suitable trekking option based on your mobility and fitness level. Our guides will be with you throughout and will assist whenever needed.

    My main concern with the whole trip is the accommodations. Could you please describe them to me (with this trip in particular). I am 60 years old and not interested in "camping". I don't want to set up my own tent and sleep on the ground. I am comfortable in permanent shelters, lodges, and of course hotels. We have been to Africa and the Amazon before and stayed in eco-lodges which I love. The canvas permanent shelter with flooring, a bed and a private attached bathroom has been perfect. Also I enjoy the opportunity to have a cocktail in the evening in the lodge, if possible. Please advise if this is what this particular trip offers.

    Accommodation at Pongwe Beach Resort is USD 450 per night for a double room, including breakfast and dinner. Logistics will be USD 250 per day. The flight from Arusha to Zanzibar is approximately USD 350 per person. Please note that activities are not included in this estimate, as clients will pay directly for any activities they choose. So the trip accommodations are midrange, NO sleeping bags please

    Yes, we do assist with arranging all domestic flights for your trip, and we're happy to organize these for you privately outside of the TourRadar platform for greater flexibility and coordination. For planning purposes, the current estimated costs are as follows: Entebbe to Nairobi: approximately $460 per person. Arusha to Zanzibar: approximately $400 per person. We always aim to secure the best available fares, so in many cases, we expect the final pricing to come in slightly below these estimates.

    Note that I also like the "original" tour which began in Kenya/Tanzania and ended with the gorillas/chimpanzees. I might be wrong, but I think they will be the highlight and I'm hoping to end the trip on that high note.

    I completely agree with you: finishing with the gorillas and chimpanzees in Uganda is the perfect way to end the trip. It's an incredibly powerful experience and truly the highlight for most of our travelers. Based on your availability, these two options work very well: Option 1: Sept 28 – Oct 15. Option 2: Oct 12 – Oct 29. Both fall within prime safari season with excellent wildlife viewing across Kenya and Tanzania, and great conditions for trekking in Uganda.

  Can you please confirm if the traveller can be accommodated with electricity 24/7 in the camp? The traveller will need to plug in a machine for medical reasons at night so this request is essencial for the traveller.
