  I had a wonderful time on the **Golden Egypt** 6-day Cairo to Luxor tour with Timeless Tours. The team at Timeless Tours was fantastic—well organised, punctual, professional and always helpful. As I travelled in June (peak summer), I was pleasantly surprised to discover I was the only guest on the tour, which meant I enjoyed a private tour experience. Had I known this was common during June, I wouldn't have paid the additional single supplement, as I would have had a room to myself regardless. The daily itinerary was well paced, with enough sightseeing each day while still allowing plenty of time to relax and escape the summer heat. Both tour guides, Mariam and Mina, were knowledgeable, friendly and passionate about Egypt's history. The drivers and other Timeless Tours representatives were also courteous and professional throughout the trip. Both hotels were comfortable. The Jaz Pyramids Hotel in Cairo was a standout, with an excellent buffet breakfast, beautiful gardens, a gym and spa. While the Lotus Hotel in Luxor is more modest and doesn't offer the same facilities, it has a lovely restaurant and a pool overlooking the Nile, making it a very pleasant place to unwind. **Optional extras:** I upgraded to the domestic flights, which I highly recommend, as they save considerable travel time. I also booked the dinner buffet cruise on the first evening. One thing that wasn't made clear at the time of booking was that the ticket included a Timeless Tours representative accompanying me. While I appreciated having someone there to assist if needed, I would have preferred to enjoy the cruise independently. The representative was enthusiastic, but I felt a little uncomfortable being repeatedly encouraged to dance after declining, and I would have preferred not to be asked to take photos for his personal Facebook account. I had also hoped to do the hot air balloon ride, but unfortunately this activity has been unavailable for several months. Finally, I purchased a couple of silver necklaces in Luxor through a recommendation from the tour guide. Looking back, I feel they were more delicate than expected and probably not the best value, so I'd recommend taking your time before making jewellery purchases. Though not on the Options list, I requested an upgrade from the Egyptian Museum to the Grand Egypt Museum and would recommend spending quite a few hours here to go through the many things to see. Overall, I had an amazing experience and thoroughly enjoyed the tour. The organisation, guides and itinerary were excellent, and the few minor disappointments didn't detract from what was a memorable trip. I would happily recommend Timeless Tours to anyone wanting to explore Egypt.Show more

The Cruise Representative: We are very sorry that your evening cruise didn't offer the independent, relaxing atmosphere you were looking for. While our reps are there to ensure your safety and seamless transfers, they should always respect your boundaries and privacy. We have addressed this directly with our local team to ensure our staff maintains professional boundaries regarding personal photography and guest preferences. The Hot Air Balloon Ride: We share your disappointment regarding the balloon rides; local safety regulations and weather-related groundings can sometimes cause extended pauses on these activities, and we apologize if this wasn't communicated clearly prior to your trip. We are so glad that the Jaz Pyramids Hotel, the peaceful Nile views at the Lotus Hotel, and the overall pace of the itinerary allowed you to beat the summer heat and enjoy Egypt to the fullest.   We thoroughly enjoyed our tour. We hit the highlights, had ample time to view the sights, and our guide, Samar, was professional, knowledgeable and easy to engage. Samar was exceptionally honest, telling us when overpayment had been made, and refunding us what was necessary. It spoke volumes as to her character. In fact, everyone we had contact with from the company was professional and pleasant. The downside of our experience was the aggressiveness of the merchants and carriage drivers, the dismal state of the publicly available restrooms, and the excessive tipping culture. Of course these things were outside of the control of the tour company.Show more

  The tour was a great taster of what Egypt has to offer, the optional excursions and upgrades are worth it I opted for the flights instead of the overnight train and hot air balloon which was the highlight. The guides were knowledgeable and provided so much information especially Mariam was amazing and so glad she was my guide for my time in Cairo, she made the experience extra special with her warm friendly motherly nature. Accommodation options are ok, Luxor accommodation was not to the same standard as Cairo. The hotel only accepted cash payment and the food was average.Show more

  I’m not a “tour” person, really. Have had experiences in the past that made me skeptical. Timeless Tours, and Mina Magdy specifically, completely shifted my perspective. Mina first questioned my understanding of Egyptian history so he could figure out exactly how much information he could impart without losing his audience. He then followed up to check my grasp of his explanations. Beyond the historical information, though, Mina’s real strength lay in discussing contemporary events and asking thoughtful follow up questions. I feel I now understand better the real-time academic discussions happening in Egyptology. If all tour guides were like Mina, maybe I would consider myself a “tour” person!Show more

  My wife and I could not have had a better experience on this tour. It was a fantastic itinerary and it was amazing that we were able to see so many things in multiple cities in a relatively short amount of time without feeling in any way rushed. Everyone at Timeless Tours is a consummate professional and we were taken care of from the moment we arrived in Egypt to the moment we left. Our guide, Mina, was superb. Of all of the tour guides we’ve had over the years (and there have been many) I can easily say he was the best. From the moment we met him to the moment he made sure we safely departed, it was an absolute pleasure getting to spend 5 days with him. He is incredibly knowledgeable as an Egyptologist and made navigating the logistics of traveling around Egypt completely seamless. The Pyramids are the Pyramids and the Sphinx is the Sphinx but it’s the people that make the difference and that is what we’ll take away from everyone we interacted with at Timeless tours.Show more

I was the only one on my tour and I felt very safe and George gave me great recommendations of where to go when I was alone and what I should do. Hotels were clean and the itinerary was accurate. We were able to add on extra adventures like a hot air balloon ride and felucca sunset cruise with ease. Mina explained each site in depth in an interesting, easy to understand way.   Great tour. My private tour guide, Mina Malik, took care of everything for me. I did not have to stress about any of the logistics. He knew everything there was to know about the history of the sights we visited and he also helped me navigate the clever salesmen of the regions to make my experience as wonderful as possible. Very much appreciated his service for making this trip to Egypt unforgettable. The tour is relatively short, however it covers a lot of ground for those with limited time such as myself. I would 100% use this tour company again, as from the moment I got off the plane in Cairo until leaving again, they were present to ensure I had no troubles with any part of the process.Show more
